Anywhoooooo ....... JFK is is one of the country's most important, if not the country's most important international airport. Not only that, but it's located right there in New York City! So the story of a planned attack on JFK ends up where? Page 37, that's where. That's right, the Times reported the story to attack New York's main airport on page 37 in Sunday's newspaper. I think its worth noting that you had to get to the fourth paragraph of the NYT article before you found out that the terrorist wannabes were Muslims .. and there you only get a quote from an FBI official saying that the men had "fundamentalist Islamic beliefs of a violent nature." I'm a subscriber to the "New York Times Digest," a PDF format condensation of the newspaper. In the digest the JFK story appeared as a sidebar on page three (out of 6 pages) and there was no reference at all to their Islamist backgrounds. The placement of this story merely illustrates how New York Times has abandoned responsible journalism for partisan electioneering. Their reasoning is simple. If the Times reports the story on page one people might take it seriously. If people take this story seriously then they must admit that this country actually is threatened by Islamic terrorists .. and this would make John Edwards' statement that the war on terror is just a "bumper sticker, nothing more" sound patently ridiculous. The Times will go out of its way to avoid making any front-running Democrat candidate look like a fool, such is their dedication to the cause of putting a Democrat into the White House. In short ... the Times will downplay news of Islamic terrorist threats against the U.S. in order to support Democrat politicians. While the Times is busy burying stories of Islamic terrorist plots, they're very much up front in their protection of Hillary Rodham. Drudge is reporting that the Times is preparing a very critical review of a book written by Times reporters ... a book critical of Hillary. Here's a link to Drudge's story. Business as usual.
Last night, Hannity & Colmes. Democrats plan to eliminate the earnings cap on Social Security taxes. This means that the high-achievers in this country will pay an additional 14 percent on every single dollar they earn over the current earnings limit .. about $100,000. There is no limit whatsoever to the desire of politicians to seize the property of individuals in order to fund their political dreams. Need I say it? Adoption of the FairTax solves our Social Security problems.
Now remember ... Jefferson is a Democrat, and the Democrats ran for control of the congress on a pledge to rid the joint of the Republican "culture of corruption." When California Republican Duke Cunningham was indicted on bribery charges the Democrats demanded his immediate ouster. As it was, he didn't resign until after his guilty plea. Now let's see if the Democrats will be doing what they demanded of the Republicans. I'll go ahead and hold my breath. Disclaimer: The foregoing remarks written by Neal Boortz constitute negative remarks about a black politician. As such, the presumption is that those remarks are racist in nature. Neal Boortz acknowledges the conventional, politically correct wisdom that negative comments about black elected officials are made with the the purpose of demonizing and destroying black political leadership, and herewith states that he is not concerned with political correctness.
New President Nicolas Sarkozy has upped the ante He is setting higher quotas for the number of immigrants to be arrested and deported each month. His new goal is to expel 25,000 immigrants per month. Gotta love this guy. The French even pay immigrants to leave. You can gain a whopping $4,700 per couple to leave France on your own accord. Where do we sign up for that here! "Generosity is not opening wide the borders without thought for how people will integrate, how they will live, how they will subsist," said France's Prime Minister. Now, the French President has gone with the extreme right-wing approach to immigration reform. As I said yesterday, there are certainly cases where deporting would be out-right cruel. But Bush, supposedly a conservative, has positioned himself on nearly the opposite end of the spectrum. While America has, luckily, not broken out into violence or flames, the discontent is apparent. It is clear. People do not want to grant amnesty to criminals. This is no longer a sentiment limited to this radio show. It has rattled Republicans and perhaps stifled future GOP support. Rather than setting quotas to deport them, France should consider the same thing the U.S. should consider. Close the borders. Turn off the faucet. Then maybe quotas is what works for France. I never thought I would actually say this, but at least they have a sensible solution.
Can you believe it? Good sense from a government regulatory agency! Regulation of material on TV or the radio leads quickly to outright suppression of freedom of speech and expression. The FCC is so quick to increase standards and who is to stop them? First we start with "dirty" words. Then what? Why not move on to concepts...or political beliefs! Fox is at the center of this debate after letting a few "fleeting explicatives" slip from celebrity mouths during Billboard Music Award ceremonies. The cost is $325,000 per violation. That's a lot of money for such a little word! And where does that money go anyway? Now here's an opinion I can agree with .... a statement from Fox Television: "Viewers should be allowed to determine for themselves and their families, through the many parental control technologies available, what is appropriate viewing for their home." It's a free country. You can choose what you want you and your kids want to watch. If you can't handle this freedom and responsibility, then you should have thought about that before becoming a parent. It isn't the government's job to shield your precious angel from the evils of TV broadcasts. Or radio, for that matter! One more thing. Words only have the power that you give them. If you decide to take the power away from naughty words, they become nothing more than noise.
Their brilliant plan is to create savings accounts for workers, which they can only access when they get back to Mexico. Now .. .I have to admit there's a germ of sense to the idea, but how in the world is this going to be enforced? All of these ideas, folks. And not one person can tell me how in the hell we are going to enforce or implement or pay for any of it. The commercials will begin running tonight during La Raza ALMA Awards show. La Raza is the largest advocacy group for Hispanics in America. It calls for the secession of a Hispanic-only homeland. Talk about "integration" into American culture. And La Raza may soon be given tens of millions of U.S. tax dollars. The plan, to give $5 million the first year and then $10 million every year thereafter, has been referred to a House committee for action. It's a wasteful excuse for taxpayer's money. It is purely a political tool to gain Hispanic votes. Using your hard-earned dollars in a Hispandering campaign. . READING ASSIGNMENTS Liberal genius plan of the day: Some college professors (or as the left calls them: "intellectuals") want the state of Vermont to secede from the nation. This is the same state that elected a representative from the socialist party and was among the first to recognize civil unions. Anyone who denies that Iran harbors terrorists is smoking something. Recent intelligence points to al-Qaeda's third in command operated out of Iran and may still be there. You may have missed it, but the Muslim Council of Britain has issued a call for a ban on all "un-Islamic" activities in British schools. This, by the way, includes swimming lessons. Who knew that swimming lessons were "un-Islamic?" Rich Lowry of National Review agrees that the only way to start with immigration reform is to begin with enforcement. This is the week the Senate debates immigration reform. At this point it is safe to say that it will probably pass. But some speculate that it will pass the Senate and not the House. A great video of Democratic candidate Dennis Kucinich likening Bush to terrorists such as Osama bin Laden. Bad news out of Guantanamo Bay because of a mislabeling. The terrorists were only labeled as "enemy combatants" rather than "unlawful enemy combatants," and the entire case was thrown out. Talk about insignificant details. If there is one common trait that Democrats and Republicans share, it is there love of spending your tax dollars. Take a look at the proposed spending chart for 2008, and see for yourself. Apparently you are less likely to be depressed if you are married. I am sure some of you might beg to differ! | ||
