Last night's book signing event for "Somebody's Gotta Say It" near Atlanta was taped by C-Span! I'll let you know when it's going to be aired.

JOHN EDWARDS ... SPOKESMAN FOR JESUS

Well, isn't this special! John Edwards is now not only a presidential candidate, but he's taken on the role of being a spokesman for Jesus.

Isn't this just wonderful? If John Edwards were to win in 2008 we would actually have a spokesman for Jesus Christ in the White House! How can we turn this incredible opportunity down?

Edwards was being interviewed for a Christian website called Beliefnet.com. During that interview Edwards made the following revelations:

• Jesus would be appalled at how the United States has ignored the plight of the suffering.
• Children should have private time to pray at school.
• Jesus would be upset with the selfishness of Americans.
• Jesus would be upset about our country's willingness to go to war "when it's not necessary."
• Jesus would be upset with our focus on our own selfish short-term needs.

I guess we should all stop for a moment to thank John Edwards for sharing Jesus' thoughts with us. Somehow, though, I think that Jesus would understand that there is no country on the face of the earth that does as much for the suffering as does the United States. Jesus is also probably away that Americans give more money to worthy causes than the people of any other nation. I'm also not convinced that Jesus would feel that removing a bloody dictator -- a dictator guilty of mass murders, rapes and wholesale violations of human decency -- would be categorized as "unnecessary." There are some who might think that getting rid of Saddam Hussein was actually a very Christian thing to do!

Anyway ... it's nice to know that John Edwards would don the mantle of Jesus' spokesman in order to further his political goals.

THE SUN MIGHT BE WARMING THE EARTH

Yup...that's the latest conclusion of those who dare to speak out against the Global Warming jihad. And there's new information that can't be making Al Gore happy. According to National Geographic News and a scientist...global warming is caused by.....the sun.

Imagine that! What have I been saying for years here?

Uh-oh....what now? Will Al Gore ever admit that he might have been wrong? Of course not...because the global warming movement has nothing to do with the environment...and everything to do with politics.

According to the report, simultaneous warming of the Earth and Mars by the sun suggest that recent climate change may not be caused by man. As proof, the report cites a NASA report that says the polar ice caps are also melting on Mars. Uh-oh...time to pass a climate treaty for Mars. Those Martians obviously need to cut back on their driving and install solar panels. But remember .. only advanced industrial nations on Mars will be affected. Developing nations will be exempt.

And there's more...scientists at the Danish National Space Center think global warming is caused by cosmic rays from exploded stars, not man. Are they right? Who knows. But the point is that there are reasonable people who disagree about global warming. This is something the media hides from the public. Anybody who dares to speak out against the global warming movement is derided as a Holocaust denier and a member of the Flat Earth Society.

But back to that Mars thing....perhaps Al Gore could move there and run up the light bill.

THE SCOOTER LIBBY TRIAL DRAGS ON

The jury in the Scooter Libby trial continues to deliberate.....and keeps asking the judge questions. Could it be that they've finally realized what everybody else should have a long time ago? Do they now realize that there there isn't much to really convict Libby of....aside from a faulty memory. If we put people in jail for not remembering what they told somebody, there'd be nobody left to lock the prisons.

So will Scooter Libby who, according to the mainstream media, is the most powerful man in the history of our country, actually be convicted? It's hard to see how. The longer the jury deliberates, the more likely it is he'll be acquitted. And then there Patrick Fitzgerald will be...having spent millions upon millions of dollars for nothing. Once it was discovered that nobody committed a crime in outing Valerie lame, that should have been it.

But as is always the case with these special prosecutors, his role was expanded. Since Libby's recollections didn't match everyone else's, he must be lying! That's right...lying about something for which he had no reason to lie. I suppose once the Libby trial is over, Fitzgerald can start prosecuting people for other ridiculous "crimes." The Democrats in Congress, eager to investigate the Iraq war, will no doubt keep him busy.

At least they got a plea bargain out of Bill Clinton.

THE BARBIE BANDITS

Seems like I called this one.

Remember those two teenaged girls who "robbed" a bank near Atlanta? I said that after they were caught their parents would most assuredly come up with some excuses such as "they fell into the wrong crowd."

Well ... sure enough, the parents are now busy making excuses for their precious little girls. Joy Miller, the mother of 18-year-old Ashley Miller says that her daughter is sorry. Sorry? Well hell yes she's sorry! She's going to jail! Would she be sorry if she had gotten away with it? Spare me this "she's sorry for what she did" crap. The mother also says her daughter isn't a bandit, she just "fell in with the wrong crowd and made a bad choice." Yeah, mom ... she made the choice to be a bandit. That makes her a bandit. And she didn't fall in with the wrong crowd ... Ashley Miller and her accomplice, Heather Lyn Johnston, ARE the wrong crowd.

How long do you folks think these lovely girls will have to spend in prison? Or do you think they'll end up picking up garbage along the roadway with a little probation to serve?

READING ASSIGNMENTS

If you listen carefully to some of the presidential candidates, you'll notice how they use very carefully crafted rhetoric to tell you how they're going to take money from one group of people and give it to another. As an example, Herman Cain points to Hillary Clinton's plan to take oil company profits and use them for some other purpose.

The CIA says it has fresh leads in the hunt for Osama Bin Laden. What do you suppose the Democrats would do if Osama were in fact caught? Howard Dean would probably come out and say America is not safer....that he's just one man. Ramsey Clark would rush to defend him.

Professor Mike Adams has been making news lately over his exposure of a Kent State University professor's jihadist rantings on an Islamic website. Adams tears apart the university's defense of the professor, point-by-point. Don't miss this one.

Hillary Clinton is working on a new campaign to attract women voters. After all, if she can't deliver the female vote...she's doomed. All of this is revving up to coincide with Women's History Month. Did you know March was Women's History Month? Sure is.

A new poll says Israel, Iran and the U.S. have the most negative image in a survey of attitudes in 12 nations. Is that so....then why is it that so many people are trying to do everything they can to come here? Why is it that our entertainment is so popular around the world? Because people all over the world love the United States. Always have and always will.

Believe it or not, there are actually Hispanic groups that are speaking out against illegal immigration. In fact, one group called The People's Alliance for Latino Advancement says it agrees with the Minutemen on illegals. Check this one out...because you're unlikely to hear about it in the mainstream media.

According to a new Zogby poll, President Bush's approval rating has hit an all-time low. Who cares....President Bush is a lame duck who can't run for office again. And by the way, if his approval rating is so low....then why can't Congress seem to stop the war in Iraq?

Islamic appeaser and Virginia Senator Jim Webb has introduced legislation to require Congressional approval for any war in Iran. Wherever he is, Osama is smiling...unable to believe his good fortune that so many Democrats are on his side.

Cal Thomas is urging people to check out Newt Gingrich's debate with Mario Cuomo online as an example of how politics can be taken more seriously and be conducted in a civilized manner. He calls the current process pretty much a joke.

Thomas Sowell is like a lot of people...he is wondering why all of a sudden people are running for an election that is almost 2 years away. He also says presidential candidate polls are worthless at this point. Remember Gary Hart? He was the frontrunner once.
