OFF TO NEW YORK!

Another "Somebody's Gotta Say it" book signing in Atlanta last night, and another great crowd. I just can't find the words to tell you how much I appreciate your support for me as evidenced by these great turnouts at my signings. And for those of you who haven't been able to come to a signing .. but have written to tell me how much you've enjoyed the book .. .thanks to you also! Frankly, I'm surprised at the great comments I've been receiving. It's so nice to know that so many are enjoying "Somebody's Gotta Say It."

While we're at it ---- isn't it sort of surprising how the teacher's unions have backed off on their outrage over what I had to say about them in the book? I have a theory on that that I'll share with you on the air today.

As soon as I'm off the air today it will be off to New York! Catch me on Hannity & Colmes tonight, Neil Cavuto tomorrow afternoon and Paula Zahn on Thursday evening! Face for radio on TV! What a concept!

SCOOTER LIBBY FOUND GUILTY

So Scooter Libby has been found guilty of perjury and obstruction of justice. According to federal sentencing guidelines, he can expect to do 1 to 3 years in the slammer for lying about something he had no reason to lie about. And while Scooter Libby is in the can, Sandy Burglar, who essentially committed treason by stealing classified documents, roams free. Nice to know the real criminals are going to jail. Ahh .. .but there was a plea deal there. No telling what Libby could have gotten with a plea deal.

The mainstream media is treating this like everybody knows who Scooter Libby is. But if you went downtown in any major American city at lunchtime, I bet you'd not find 1 person out of 100 that could tell you what Scooter Libby's position was in the Bush Administration. The media and the Democrats are somehow making this out to be the "tip of the iceberg." The tip of what iceberg? No one else will be charged in this investigation and the case is closed. Big whoop. Sounds more like the iceberg has melted.

So Scooter Libby and his lawyers will now try and milk the appeal process so he can make it past the November 2008 election and grab his certain presidential pardon. In the meantime, taxpayers are stuck with the tab for the entire prosecution. By the way, the jury says they felt sorry for Scooter Libby, but still convicted him. I'd hate to see what their verdict would have been had they not felt sorry for him.

How do I feel about the verdict? I the jury felt that he lied, then the verdict is proper. If it was a jury assembled of Democrat sycophants eager to nail the Bush administration, we have a problem. I wasn't there. I didn't listen to the testimony. I didn't see the exhibits, so I can't say whether the verdict is proper or not. You lie under oath, you get charged. That is as it should be. Ditto for lying to investigators. I only wish we could have nailed the Clintons for their similarly faulty memories.

OBAMA CAMPAIGN HITS TURBULENCE

The media has a bit of a problem. They have hit a speed bump in their bid to elect Hillary Clinton president of the United States. And that roadblock's name is Barack Obama. So what to do? The answer is they will destroy Obama...and it's already started, beginning with the New York Times. Seems there's a problem with his investments.

Evidently Obama bought $50,000 worth of stock in two companies whose major investors were also his biggest contributors. Yawn. Obama says he didn't even know he had invested in either company. Is there any proof he did know? Is there a law against owning stock in a corporation who's officers or employees contribute to your campaign? Whatever. Considering the free ride The Hildabeast is getting on her finances (Whitewater, anyone?) this barely registers on the radar. Also, don't forget Harry Reid's magic land deals...he gets to earn profit on land he doesn't even own. What a deal!

Expect more of this. The media has been working on the ascendancy of Hillary Clinton to the Oval Office for some time. They're not going to let anyone get in the way.

1 WINNER AND 76 MILLION LOSERS

People are checking their lottery tickets this morning to see if they've won the $370 million Mega Millions jackpot. The 12-state has determined that there are two winning tickets. One in New Jersey and one in Georgia. Two soon-to-be-miserably-unhappy saps.

Now is as good a time as any to remind people that not only is the lottery a tax on the stupid, but you aren't going to win. But as the sheeple line up to thrown their money down a rathole, politicians are smiling. Why? Because the lottery is a great way to tax people without taxing people. Hey..somebody's gotta win, right? Wrong.

According to published reports, you have a 1 in 76 million chance of winning. That means you have a greater chance of being struck by lightning, or waking up next to Reese Witherspoon. According to one website that tracks such things, there is a better chance that you will beaten alive by a mountain lion. But none of this matters...such is the desire of the ignorant masses to take the easy way out to wealth, they'll be lining up at the liquor store by the millions trying to cash in.

It is a sad, sad testament to the American psyche that fully 50% of the people in this country think that they're going to retire on their lottery winnings. Pathetic.

By the way, have you ever heard of a happy, well-adjusted lottery winner? Didn't think so.

They're calling it the Katrina of 2007.....supposedly another outrage perpetrated by the Bush Administration. These are the same Democrats that want the incompetent federal government to take over all of health care.

More evidence is coming out about the trial of the two Border Patrol agents. It turns out the U.S. Government made no effort to capture the illegal alien drug smuggler that the pair were convicted of shooting. Once again, the trial continues to unravel. Presidential pardon, anyone?

France, that tolerant society in Europe, has decided that only professional journalists can film or broadcast actual acts of violence. Sounds just a bit like bringing back the state-run media. So private citizens who record government abuses could head straight to jail. Nice going.

The College of William and Mary has decided that a cross can be returned to the chapel after a public outcry over its removal. No word yet on who exactly the cross was bothering, but the decision to put it back came after donations were being held back by alumni.

Bill Maher is doing the political backstroke over his comments saying that if Dick Cheney were to die, more people would be allowed to live. He says he doesn't wish the vice president were dead. Thanks for the clarification, Bill.

The war in Iraq may be unpopular with a lot of Americans wishing we never invaded, but Jonah Goldberg says most people still aren't the defeatists that Democrats think they are. That would explain why Nancy Pelosi and Harry Reid won't pull the plug on funding.

In this op-ed in the Manchester Union-Leader, John McCain calls our current immigration problem a national disgrace. He's right...but just what will the Senator from Arizona propose to fix the problem? Read on to find out.

Walter E. Williams looks at the recent resolution passed by the Virginia Legislature that professes regret for slavery. Williams says if Virginia is going to apologize for slavery, then he also has a long list of grievances that should be addressed.
