| Monday - May 21, 2007 We will have much to say about this amnesty bill that the Senate is going to pass today. I'm very disappointed to learn that both of Georgia's Republican Senators are going to support it. This is all about the rule of law. Do our elected officials enforce our laws or don't they? Every single one of these people who crossed the border into this country illegally is a CRIMINAL. When you catch a criminal you generally have two choices. You enforce the law, or you don't. Today the U.S. Senate will elect to not enforce the law ... and instead to change the law to absolve these criminals of any guilt for their crimes. This is AMNESTY. Nothing less. Perhaps the people around Jimmy Carter, 82, could take a few pointers here. Late last week Carter was mouthing off about George Bush. Now usually former presidents show some degree of dignity by not slamming those who follow them. Jimmy Carter, the man who seemingly never met a dictator he didn't absolutely love, shows no such class. Carter is now telling the world that George Bush is "the worst in history" when it comes to foreign relations. There is one rather start difference between Carter and Steinbrenner. Steinbrenner's stewardship of the Yankees has been an unqualified success. The same certainly cannot be said of Jimmy Carter's presidency. While 21 might be a good number for winning streaks, it's a prime interest rate, to say nothing of 14 percent mortgage rates. Wow! This man really has room to talk, doesn't he. Foreign relations? How about Carters freelance trip to North Korea early in Clinton's presidency? We're paying for all those kisses Carter planted firmly on Kim Jong Ill's backside today. Add to that his little adventure in Haiti. Wait! There's more! Jimmy Carter rushes down to Venezuela to "confirm" that the recall election went Hugo's way, even though every knowledgeable observer in the free world free world knew that voter intimidation and corruption was rampant. So, Hugo Chaves had his corrupt election blessed by Jimmy Carter .. and you know the rest of the story. And just why did Carter validate a clearly corrupt election? The word is that he was afraid there would be violence if Chavez wasn't declared the winner. For 444 days Islamic radicals held 63 U.S. Citizens hostage inside the American diplomatic mission in Iran. Could it be said that this was America's first great show of weakness to the Muslim world? Now we have this complete and utter presidential failure telling us that George Bush was the worse. There is good news. For once, George Bush fought back. The White House referred to Jimmy Carter as "increasingly irrelevant." I guess that happens when you start losing your cognitive abilities. Just one question: Would you have traded George Bush for Jimmy Carter on 9/11?
It isn't listed anywhere on her website. She never seems to mention it in any of her speeches. Why so hush hush Hillary? Perhaps it is because her party has vehemently rallied against Wal-Mart for "mistreating" its workers and offering "unaffordable" health care. Hillary was there to champion women in management and environmental policies. When it came to Wal-Mart's anti-union stance, she must have had her tongue tied. She did turn down a $5,000 campaign donation in 2005. Seems like Hillary only wants what is convenient to her at the time, and is willing to just toss it aside for the sake of her image. If you're surprised by this ... you probably get your evening news from "Entertainment Tonight." SO .. HE WAS IRANIAN? SO WHAT?
But ... let's be careful not to place any additional attention on men and women of Middle Eastern heritage who might be working in the U.S. nuclear industry. That, of course, would be profiling. Even though we have an Iranian nuclear engineer hauling information back to Iran in his laptop ... to show off to his family ... we can't look any more closely at an Iranian working in our nuclear research labs and power plants than we would a native-born American. Gotta be fair, right?
Now here's a mom who won't let her kid fall into my "wussification" category. Her son, Travis, was suspended from school for putting his teacher in a headlock. Instead of letting dear, sweet Travis stay home and play video games, this mom made him pick up pick up litter on the side of the road. While picking up the trash his wore a sign saying, "I made a bad choice in school now I'm living with it." I bet you that's the last time he will mess around in school. Good for you, Mom. Meanwhile, a mom out in California made her seventh grade daughter-who was suspended for bullying a fellow student-hold up a sign in front of school The sign said "I engaged in bullying behavior. I got suspended from school and this street corner. Don't be like me. Stop bullying." Not sure if this one happened this year or not, but this mama definitely deserves a round of applause. REDNECK SCRAP BOOK If you have ever said "who needs a moving van?", you might just be a redneck. More in the Redneck Scrap Book. READING ASSIGNMENTS The Wall Street Journal's John Fund says that while we may need comprehensive immigration reform, we don't need a law enacted in haste. The Senate will pass the amnesty bill today. How's that for haste? Mark Steyn ... who's columns have been so hard-hitting and dead-on lately that he now enjoys the abject hatred of the left ... says that the Immigration reform bill is pure capitulation. Climatologist says that it time to go on the attack against the myth of man-made global warming. Meanwhile .. the religion of man-made global warming marches on. Here's a student who was shown OwlGore's propaganda film four different times in four different classrooms at a government school. You'll find some excellent links in this story to help you refute the religion of global warming. A nice editorial in the Augusta Chronicle about the FairTax: "A New American Revolution?" The writer says: "The rally and march also stood out because the mainstream media hasn't really sensed how serious this movement is." Well ... that's changing, isn't it? For all of you with too much time on your hands, here is a draft of the "Secure Borders, Economic Opportunity and Immigration Reform Act of 2007." Anna Qunndlen says that Hillary has a women problem! John Bolton on how U.S. weakness against North Korea and its nuclear program could be the wrong message for Iran. This illegal alien not only shot a police officer in the face, and killed him, but he had a history of prior criminal activity. And he was never deported! Newt Gingrich came out in staunch opposition for the immigration reform bill, calling for each candidate to take a position on the issue. I always knew I liked this guy. Like Jimmy Carter has any right to talk about being a bad President! He labeled the Bush administration the "worst in history." Guess he forgot to take his own into account. Christian bookstores in the U.S. and Canada are in an uproar because a major online book company, which produces Christian material, also produces and promotes XXX-rated items, lesbian and homosexuality manuals, as well as satanism products. A parent and student complain to their high school in Boulder Colorado after a panel, hosted at the school, about teen sex and drug use. The complaint: schools shouldn't be so graphic and tell kids its okay to have sex. Apparently they completely missed the point of the lecture... | ||
