I guess we now know just what sentence, paragraph or thought expressed in Coulter's book is going to be used by the MoveOn Democrat Party and the loony left in an attempt to demonize her. Here's an excerpt from an interview with Ann Coulter by George Gurley. Here we find Coulter talking about women:
The left is sure to jump on this like a crow on a June bug. Thing is .... Coulter is exactly right. Don't take her word for it, just read "Freedomnomics" by John Lott. Here we have a renowned economist going all the way back to the late 1980s to see what happens when women get the vote. His findings? In every single case, when women were given the right to vote the cost of government immediately began to rise as women, particularly single women, started voting for the candidates who would create more government spending programs designed to provide women with security. That magic word .. .security. Coulter is right. Deal with it. If Hillary Clinton becomes (God forbid) the next president of this country, it will be on the vote of young single women and divorcees. The Democrats have proposed an income tax surcharge to pay for the cost of the war on terror. They say that it is unfair to pass off the cost of the war to future generations. That cost would be about $150 billion annually. The war IS for future generations, as much as for this one. If we don't deal with Islamic fascism now our future generations will be left to either deal with the problem, or succumb. Democrats, however, can't think in those terms. They only think in terms of tax increases ... mainly on people who don't vote Democrat. Reps. David Obey, D-Wis., John Murtha, D-Pa., and Jim McGovern, D-Mass., cooked up this beauty. Of course the wealthier people would foot most of the bill with an additional 12 to 15 percent tax on their income. See what I said about nailing the people who don't vote Democrat? Rep. David Obey says this will call the president's bluff on fiscal responsibility. Meanwhile, Obey is the chairman of the House appropriations committee. He says that Bush's request for war funding will not be approved unless it is linked with a plan to bring the troops home by January 2009. Obey also plans to hold out on considering the war funding request until 2008 ... at which point it is estimated that funds for military operations will have run out. Only 25% of Americans believe that we should fund the war on terror. Basically, they would prefer to leave our troops and Iraqis high and dry.
It resolves that:
I'll express my deepest respect for Islam when the world's Muslims turn against their own radical element. Ramadan, by the way, has traditionally been a time for Muslims to step up their efforts to kill Jews. Montgomery County Public Schools in Maryland are now considering making a Muslim holiday a part of their government school calendar. The holiday that Muslims are requesting is called Eid ul-Fitr, which celebrates the end of Ramadan. Muslims point out that the government school system already lets students off for Rosh Hashanah, Christmas and Easter. However Kate Harrison, a spokeswoman for the school system, says that the County does not cancel school for religious purposes. On those particular holidays, there is such a high absenteeism rate of both student and staff that it makes it difficult for schools to continue operation. There is no data, as of yet, as to how many Muslims are absent for Eid ul-Fitr and if it would qualify as a non-religious "holiday." Hey ... here's an idea. Maybe Muslims at the Montgomery County Schools could have a symbolic stoning (using foam rubber rocks) of any Muslim girl who has been seen with a male to whom she's not related!
As of Monday, lenders in Utah began refusing to make loans to members of the military. They decided to refuse the loans rather than give military much lower rates that are mandated by new federal laws. The new law caps the annual interest on payday, car title or tax refund anticipation loans at 36 percent per year for military personnel and their families. The law began because military members were having problems fulfilling short-term loans. Utah payday lenders said they couldn't make a profit so they decline to do business with anyone in the military. Now lenders will ask potential customers if they are active in the military. Apparently you are not allowed to refuse loans based on race or religion, but refusing based on military service does not violate any laws. This is because you can't force a business to enter into a transaction that forces it to lose money. Don't blame this on the lender's folks. They're in business to make money. Blame this on government interference in the free market. When government interferes something always gets screwed up.
This past Saturday Congressman John Linder and I went to the West Georgia University to be a part of Newt's American Solutions Day ... we delivered a workshop on the FairTax. Here's your link if you would like to watch our presentation. Interestingly enough, we were in the smaller of three rooms yet we had the largest crowd. A room that could have held hundreds held only about 20. I guess people weren't all that turned on about Students for Saving Social Security. Maybe we'll get a larger room next time.
Britain now ranks 17th out of all European countries in terms of healthcare. All the countries ranked worse than Britain were much poorer. In Europe there are apparently two types of healthcare. The British "Beveridge" system unifies funding and provision. The other is the German "Bismarck" system based around the competing interests of insurance organizations that are independent of health service suppliers. As expected, the top five countries in Europe all follow this "Bismark" system. And in Ireland the system may be even worse. New figures shows that 12,000 adults are waiting six months or more for hospital treatment, and over 2,200 children are waiting three months or more for treatment. In total, there are currently 41,000 people on hospital waiting lists. And then they announced that they are going to freeze staff recruitment because of overspending. This is what we have coming to America.. all because most of you have decided that your health care is the responsibility of either your employer or the government. The BBC has produced a documentary about implementing Shari'a Law in Great Britain for Muslims. The whole film is worth watching ... and don't forget about that pesky little part which allows for stoning and amputations as punishment. British Prime Minister Gordon Brown announced that Britain is withdrawing 1,000 troops from Iraq by Christmas. The attacks on the FairTax are increasing. Here's an article from Kansas City.com that gets so many things wrong it's hard to count them. The Chairman of the Senate Energy Committee says that there will not be any global warming legislation under President Bush. Yeah ... we'll have to wait for President Rodham before we cave into the hysteria. Some Senators are trying to cut $5.2 billion in farm subsidies that are annually given to U.S. grain, cotton and soybean growers. Good luck. Ain't going to happen. An Ethiopian taxi driver from Washington is under arrest for joking with an airline worker that he was a member of al Qaeda. Funny folks, those Ethiopians. Remember how Iran's president invited Bush to come speak at one of their universities? Apparently the White House isn't taking the invitation too seriously. Jonah Goldberg tackles the culture of patriotism in the US and how "multiculturalism" does not make the American cut. That murdering, wife-killing, slimeball throat slitting bastard OJ Simpson has been ordered to turn over his Rolex Watch .. and some other goodies. Good stuff. It turns out the watch might be fake .. just like the SOBs search for the real killer. Yesterday on the show I defended Rush Limbaugh as Democrats continue their war on talk radio. Here's the latest in the battle, including Rush calling for Harry Reid's resignation. The editors of National Review want Gen. Peter Pace to run for the vacant Senate seat in Virginia. The mayor of Brownsville, Texas is trying to prevent the building of a border fence through his town by denying DHS officials access to city property. Isn't it about time to end all federal aid of any kind to the city of Brownsville? Here are the technicalities of how to fire someone in a European nation ... in this case it would be France. Needless to say, it isn't easy. Once again ... government interference in the free market. There are twice as many lard-asses in the United States than there are in Europe. Because of this, Americans more often suffer from cancer, diabetes and other chronic ailments compared to Europeans. How quickly this woman's tune changed from "I was fired because I wore too much perfume" to "I was fired because I am black." I guess the perfume thing wasn't working. The black thing has a much higher success rate. An artist has been sentenced to probation after setting up a secret apartment inside a mall in Rhode Island. | |||||
