OAKLAND AIRPORT OUTRAGE

Yesterday in our Government Outrage segment, I didn't have time to talk about this story. Sadly this story takes place, yet again, in the San Francisco Bay Area.

Marines were on their way home from Kuwait to Hawaii when they stopped at the Oakland Airport for a layover. But the Oakland International Airport said that military personnel were not allowed in the airport terminal. The Marines were forced to deplane 400 yards away from the terminal. This was not because of security reasons as the Marines were already allowed to deplane at airports in Germany and New York.

The airport has now apologized to the troops.

Can you believe how the San Francisco Bay area is treating our men and women in uniform? Here's just a partial list.

Permission to dock the Battleship Iowa in San Francisco as a floating museum to our Navy and the role of the Iowa in World War II ... DENIED.

Permission for the Navy's Blue Angels to participate in an air show over San Francisco Bay ... OPPOSED

Permission for the U.S. Marine Corps Silent Drill Platoon to film a recruitment commercial on California Street in San Francisco ... DENIED.

And now this debacle at the Oakland Airport?

YANKEE SPENDING SPREE

A watchdog group called Good Jobs New York found that the New York Yankees are spending tens of thousands of dollars ... at the tax payers' expense.

Under the guise of "planning costs" for their new stadium being built in the Bronx, receipts show that the money has been spent on lavish gifts and entertainment. These receipts were submitted to the Parks Department.

The stadium itself is already costing the taxpayers approximately $795 million in tax free bonds, tax breaks and grants. And now, on top of this, they are adding absurd expenses such as $30,000 food and bar tabs on just TWO nights during the 2005 post season. Or how about $2,000 for a dozen crystal baseballs, $8,600 in "rivalry" wool caps for home games, and over $2,000 in gifts for corporate clients.

How about a few more: $25,000 for office space near Newark Airport, $10,145 for press room rental, $1,948 for a Verizon party, and $78 to ship batting helmets from Yankee Stadium to Tropicana Field.

Excuse me .. but I gotta say it. Damn Yankees!

IT'S THE SUN, STUPID

Danish scientists have determined that the sun is still the main factor in any global climate change.

The study was conducted by the Danish National Space Center. It directly rebuts the UK study that came out in July, which claims that there hasn't been a solar-climate link in the past 20 years.

Wow, how could there be such staggering differences in opinions? The Danish scientists explain that the UK study relied on surface air temperature to determine that there was no solar-climate link. What the British must have forgotten is that air temperature does not respond to the solar cycle. So of course they found nothing!

The Danish scientists say that the solar cycle can be measured using tropospheric air temperature and ocean sub-surface water temperatures. From this they found that "the most recent global temperature trend is close to zero."

And don't forget to check out this study just published. It refutes Al Gore's "Hockey Stick" temperature graph, which he uses to argue the recent spike in average global temperatures.

TODAY'S WTF?

Well, if we can't do a regular WTF segment on the air, at least we can include it in Nealz Nuze.

We received several emails yesterday with a common theme. Here are just two of them:

Is this part of some campaign? Has some group out there initiated a campaign to excoriate other talk show hosts for not coming to Limbaugh's defense? Clearly, they haven't been listening to my show ... OR reading my program notes.

WARD CHURCHILL RETURNS

Ward Churchill decided that he is still going to teach, even though he was fired from the University of Colorado. On Tuesday night he began a series of classes at the school, which were organized by a group of student supporters.

About 30 students showed up for his first lecture titled "ReVisioning American History: Colonization, Genocide and Formation of the U.S. Settler State." Other people showed up too ... the media. However, Churchill and the students wouldn't let them in. Gee, I wonder why.

Other classes lined up on Churchill's syllabus include lectures on colonialism, genocide, and racism.

Aaron Smith is a political science and ethnic studies major. He helped organize the classes because he wanted to hear what Churchill has to say. Smith says that he was deprived of Churchill's teaching, and that "[Churchill] was one of the most valuable professors we've had on this campus."

HILLARY'S WAR ON TALK RADIO .. A CONTINUING STORY

The latest in the Democrat Party war on talk radio? Clearly they're not tiring of running with their absurd smear campaign against Rush Limbaugh. A leftist group called votevets.org is running an ad on television. The ad features an injured Iraq veteran repeating the Hillary Clinton's Media Matters smear that Limbaugh referred to veterans who are opposed to the war as "phony soldiers." The MoveOn Democrats went out and found a wounded veteran and have exploited him in an obscene way by putting him on television to repeat the Media Matters' smear. Let me make this clear. I have no problem with the veteran featured in this ad. He served this country, he went to Iraq and he was gravely wounded. He carries the results of those wounds with him today. He is to be honored, not criticized, no matter what his political position may be.

Let me tell you what is really going on here. MoveOn Democrat Senators like Harkin and Reid utter their slanders against Limbaugh from the floor of the Senate - from the one place where they cannot be held legally liable for their malicious lies. But when it comes to stepping out of their protective bubble; well ... they just don't seem to have the guts for it. Instead, they find themselves a wounded veteran to do their dirty work for them. This injured vet has been told, and perhaps he believes, that Limbaugh's reference to "phony soldiers" was directed at all Iraq and Afghanistan veterans who oppose the war. While that's a position that is clearly not supported by the facts, perhaps this veteran doesn't understand that.

Are these MoveOn Democrat Senators so afraid to go after Limbaugh in an unprotected forum that they have to corral a wounded veteran to carry their water for them?

Pathetic. Just pathetic.

AND WHAT'S NEXT?

Last night at about 7:45 I received a phone call from someone I casually know in Washington DC. He opened the discussion about the Democrats' war against talk radio. He asked me if I have been singled out for an attack yet. I told him that in spite of my best efforts Hillary Clinton's Media Myrmidons have been ignoring me lately. Then he asked me if I had any skeletons in my closet. Well, the only good answer to that is "Oh HELL yes!" I was, of course, curious as to why someone I only know in a casual sense, but someone who is well plugged in, if you will, in Washington, would be asking me these ominous questions. He then told me that he had it on good authority that someone was seeking to hire some private detectives to dig up whatever dirt they can on conservative talk show hosts. He then suggested that I might want to watch my back.

Who? Larry Flint? Hillary Clinton's Media Myrmidons? MoveOn.org?

Well .. let them follow. I hope that whoever they are they can ride motorcycles, because that's what I going to spend much of this coming weekend doing. There's a nice March of Dimes ride to the Atlanta Motor Speedway this weekend I don't want to miss. So I'll go out there and help to raise money to combat birth defects while they follow me around looking for drugs, a mistress, an as-yet undisclosed sex change, or maybe something far more juicy!

If there are any PIs out there following us, they should have an easy time with me. I stick out like a sore thumb ... and skeletons? You have NO idea!

Just be ready, my friends. There's no telling where the next attack is going to come from; but a next attack there most certainly shall be. Hillary Clinton and the MoveOn Democrats see conservative talk radio as public enemy number one when it comes to getting that dangerous woman into the White House. You can't put anything past them.

Bring it on. Gotta love it.

DALLAS BATTLES 'RACISM'

The city of Dallas has, indeed, battled some serious racial tensions in the past. But a recent City Hall corruption probe may open some wounds that have been put to bed. In this case, repeat after me ... you were indicted "because you are black."

Sixteen people were named in corruption indictments this week. Twelve of the sixteen are black. Most were charged in a kickback/bribery scheme where political leaders awarded contracts to developers to build affordable housing. Ok, let's try that sentence again ... just like the article says: Most were charged in a kickback/bribery scheme where black political leaders would award contracts to white developers to build affordable housing in black neighborhoods.

The investigation took two years. Some black activists are saying that the case is an attempt to dismantle black political leadership in Dallas.

Michael Sorrell, president of the city's historically black Paul Quinn College says that he refuses to think the investigation was racially motivated ... but then he goes on to say, "But given all the factors, what is the statistical likelihood of producing that ratio?

It looks like Cristina's alma mater New York University is getting Muslim footbaths! One liberal student says, "It's NYU. If we were at Alabama State, it would be a different story." And the condemnation of the South continues!

Oh, darn. It looks like Rosie O'Donnell won't be taking advantage of her invitation to visit her terrorist compadres in the Middle East. Drat. I was looking forward to some awesome video of Rosie blubbering like a baby when she got taken hostage.

Two women drove to court in a stolen truck with 21 grams of meth inside. Needless to say, they were arrested. Probably going to vote for Hillary ... if they keep their voting privileges.

Remember the car dealership with the advertisement "Tired of the Wet Backs????" Well executives at the dealership have apologized to the community for the "racial slur." What pussies. (Excuse me .... Just trying to get Hillary's crowd in an uproar.)
