AFTERTHOUGHT!

HILLARY COMMERCIALS!

So much for me not being a fair and even-handed talk show host. We actually gave two listeners, one female and one not-female, the opportunity to deliver a 60-second commercial for Hillary Rodham. The woman actually said (and I'm not kidding you here) that Rodham would be the candidate who could unite America and bring us together. Yup ... sure she would. The other commercial presenter simply said that we need Hillary's health care. Well, one thing we can say for her ... she knows how to buy the votes.

ATLANTA'S CHARITY HOSPITAL SHUTTING DOWN SOME SERVICES

Specifically ... kidney dialysis. It seems that Grady Hospital is losing about $4 million a year with the operation of the kidney dialysis center .. and that one-third of the people using that center are illegal aliens. Now we have Latino politicians weeping into their sombreros over the possible loss of this welfare benefit for illegal aliens. Sucks to be them, I guess.

CORPS OF ENGINEERS TO GEORGIA .... PISS OFF

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers has indicated that it is going to ignore any pleas from Georgia government officials they have no intention of listening to pleas from government officials to stem the flow of drinking water from Georgia's Lake Lanier. Drinking water is at stake here .. if they're not going to listen to reason, it's time to seize the damn dam.

Another study says that half of Britons will be obese by 2050. 60% of men, 50% of women and 25% of children in the UK will be clinically obese.

How about a toothbrush up your nose ... just ask one Indian woman who isn't sure how that got up there.

ANOTHER HILLARY SCHEME

Hillary Clinton has now proposed extending unpaid family leave to more than 13 million workers. Oh and let's not forget that this will cost the taxpayers another $1 billion a year on paid leave programs.

Clinton says that too many Americans feel trapped between their kids and their employers ... and that government policies haven't kept up with the realities of American life.

She proposes that the Family Medical Leave Act should be expanded to include companies that employ at least 25 workers rather than the current 50 workers. That means millions more workers are eligible for 12 weeks of unpaid leave. But she also wants to encourage to develop paid leave programs by offering them $1 billion a year in grants.

But it doesn't stop there. Clinton wants to require all workers to be given seven sick days a year that could help to care for their children. She also wants to require employers to at least consider flexible work schedules. Oh and she also wants to give child care subsidies to stay-at-home parents, rather than just families who send their children to daycare.

HILLARY AND RANDI

I really don't have all that much to say about moonbat talk show host Randi Rhodes and whatever might have happened to her in New York City on Sunday night. Not much to say, that is, except that I hope she recovers quickly and is back on the air soon.

I do, however, have something to say about that fool Jon Elliot who went on the Air America network (such as it is) on Sunday night to say that Rhodes may well have been a victim of the "right-wing hate machine." Does that remind you of any other famous liberals? How about Shrillary? Didn't she say something about a "vast right-wing conspiracy" when the news came out about her "husband" and Monica Lewinsky?

Maybe Randi will come back to the air meaner than ever, and perhaps she will make up some more lies about me! I could use the publicity, publicity whore that I am.

OWLGORE ON HEALTHCARE

Al Gore released a video of himself proclaiming that healthcare in America "ought to be a matter of right." He says that the current healthcare situation is "immoral."

Gore droned: "I strongly support universal single-payer government-provided or government-funded health care." If you can't sleep tonight you might want to click on this link and take a look at his little home video for yourself.

I'll write a little more on this later ... but health care simply is not and cannot be a right. The reason is simple. In order for you to receive health care some other individual must expend time property: time treating you, or property used in your treatment. To have a "right" to healthcare means that you have a "right" to a portion of someone else's life or property. Sorry, things don't, and shouldn't work that way.

ALTERNATIVES FOR TURKEY

Now the US military is being forced to look for a second route to supply the troops in Iraq. Thank you Nancy Pelosi. A Pentagon official has officially said that the planning is under way. The official says, "It's just looking at what other options are available because there are serious operational impacts" if the Turks deny passage of US military supplies bound for Iraq. "Serious operational impacts?" That's a nice way to put it. How about calling out the reason - I'm sorry I should say the person - that is single handedly causing this "impact."

While the White House is strongly urging Nancy Pelosi to not bring the resolution to the House floor ... why wouldn't she? She and her Defeatocrats have the US and our military exactly where they wanted.

I wonder how many American men and women will die in Iraq because of Nancy Pelosi's act of sabotage.

TEACHER STRIKE BAN

Pennsylvania lawmakers are actually trying to fight the teachers unions. Although they face power opposition, lawmakers are slowly building support from agitated taxpayers to support legislation that would ban teacher strikes in Pennsylvania.

It's about time. Strikes by government employees should be illegal across the board.

A handful of House Republicans are the ones sponsoring the bill. There is also a related constitutional amendment that would make the walkouts illegal. The bill forces teachers to forfeit two days' pay for each day of strike. There is also a fine of $5,000 for individuals who incite a strike. It would also require non-binding arbitration to resolve disputes in a certain timeframe. The amendment would be included in the section of the constitution that says legislatures must provide a "thorough and efficient" public education system.

Pennsylvania is known for its teacher walkouts. Of the 140 teacher strikes between 2000 and 2007, 60% of them took place in Pennsylvania.

The proposal was introduced in the 2005-2006 legislation session but went nowhere. Now lawmakers are hoping to garner public pressure by linking the issue to rising property taxes.

Let's hope the Pennsylvania legislators don't underestimate the power of these teacher's unions. They are, hands down, the most powerful unions in America ... and they are to be feared.
