Oh happy day! After a slam-dunk weekend, the manuscript for "The FairTax - The Truth" is off to Harper Collins. Our editor, Cal Morgan, will do his magic and we'll be on our way to cleaning up some of the lies and distortions that have been spread by those who fear this tax reform proposal! More on the book later ... right now I just want to talk about other things. So ...... Governor Perdue asked President Bush to exempt Georgia from complying with federal regulations, which specify the amount of water released to keep the worthless mussels alive somewhere down there in Florida. This isn't the first time the endangered species act has worked against the best interests of large segments of our population. The act has been around since the 1970s, and is in bad need of reformation. Democrats and environmental moonbats resist any clean-up effort however. The act has proven to be simply too good a weapon against evil capitalism. Maybe I'll have to turn my spa into a private fresh water reservoir. In Australia they are actually thinking about using global warming as an excuse to pay the electricity bills for poor people. Prime Minister John Howard announced that money from the sale of carbon permits would be used by a Coalition government to 'subsidize' (that's a fancy word "redistribute income") electricity bills for 'low-income earners.' This redistribution plan would come into effect after his emissions trading scheme begins in 2011. He will establish a 'climate change fund,' which will be funded from revenue from the auctioning of permits under the emissions trading system. Then that fund will used to finance a variety of government programs including financial assistance to poor people ... who will 'inevitably have to pay for higher electricity' as Australia moves toward cleaner technology. Now, perhaps, we're seeing part of the real reason big-government liberals and anti-capitalist environmental activists are pushing this phony global warming nonsense. They see it as a source of revenue! Maneuver the government into charging private companies for carbon emissions, and then use those funds to promote leftist causes. We all know what happened to the home heating oil assistance program here in the U.S. It was supposed to be a short-term solution to the oil crisis decades ago. It is still with us today as another massive government entitlement program. The same will happen in Australia with this aid for pitiful poor people to pay their light bills. Even when global warming has been proven (as it will) to be a massive fraud, the assistance for poor people will remain in place. Count on it.
Jindal won with 54% of the vote compared to his Democrat opponent, Walter Boasso, with just 18% of the vote. Jindal will replace Gov. Kathy Blanco ... the Democrat known for her "genius" recovery efforts following Hurricane Katrina. He won on the conservative promises of stopping political corruption, cutting taxes and improving government schools. What really happened here is that the voters of Louisiana realized, after Katrina, what a horrible mistake they had made putting Blanco in office in the first place. There's nothing like a crisis to showcase incompetence ... and Blanco came off looking like a disorganized fool. In a recent Zogby poll, half of likely voters in the US say that they would never vote for Hillary Clinton. Older voters (65+) were the most resistant in voting for Hillary, and young people (18-29) were the most receptive. Analysis: Voters who know what they don't know won't vote for Hillary. Voters who don't know what they don't know will. Close behind Hillary in the "I'm never going to vote for you" poll was Dennis Kucinich, Mike Gravel and Ron Paul. And yet Hillary remains the front-runner for the Democratic ticket ... although she doesn't want to admit it. She points out that she is working hard, but no one has voted yet. She also says that she is aware that her opponents are paying a lot more attention to her but, "I'm reminded by some of my friends that when you get to be my age, having so many men paying attention to you is kind of flattering." In case you weren't aware, apparently her latest tour is called "Organizing for Change," which highlights the need for a 'fundamental shift in the nation's direction.' Yawn. We now await Hillary's "Entitlement program of the week." Odds makers are evenly split on whether Hillary will announce her latest entitlement program or tax increase first. We'll keep a close eye on things and let you know.
That's not good enough? Well then, let's go to Berkeley County, South Carolina where a girl was not only suspended by expelled for bringing a butter knife to her government school. Amber Dauge went to Goose Creek High School. She was running late to catch the school bus so she ran out of the house while making a sandwich, with a butter knife in hand. She finished, put it in her backpack, put it in her locker when she got to school but ... oh no ... the knife fell out of her locker during the day. A kid yelled out that she was going to stab someone with the knife, and that is all it took. A teacher heard the comment and took her to the principal's office. Amber is now expelled, which may be a blessing in disguise if it means that she no longer attends a government school. Maybe her parents will wise up and either homeschool her or get her into a private school somewhere. That butter knife incident could turn out to be one of the best things that ever happened to little Amber. REDNECK SCRAP BOOK Well, that's one way to bring home the bacon. More in the Redneck Scrap Book.

Vice President Dick Cheney confirms that the United States will not allow Iran to have a nuclear weapon. We now await Hillary's "Darth Vader" comment. By the way ... do any of you actually think Hillary has ever seen Star Wars? Turkey says that it will 'pay any price' to defeat Kurdish rebels in northern Iraq after 17 Turkish soldiers were killed this past weekend. Meanwhile President Bush says that he is 'outraged' by the 'terrorist' Kurdish rebel attacks. I loved this story from Fark.com. Click here to see pictures of two Jacksonville, Fla. Teenage carjackers. Then see if you can figure out which one resisted arrest. President Bush was apparently the target of a New Zealand terrorist attack. Dangerous Kiwis? Who knew? Here's a taste of John Stossel on Al Gore's "global warming." Stossel is one major media figure who realizes that Gore is a fraud. Mark Steyn's latest column on the S-CHIP and the Republicans' 'war on children.' Rev. Al Sharpton is on a campaign to draw national attention to increases in 'hate crimes.' Listen, folks. If you don't milk your victim status for all it's worth ... you could lose it. Iran continues on its 'moral crackdown.' This time it is targeting couples, including married couples, who draw too much attention to themselves. An Indian government official was attacked by monkeys and died after he fell from a balcony. No, it didn't happen in Daytona Beach, Florida. Scientists are saying that they are getting closer to being able to weaken hurricanes and steer them off course. The American Airline Terminal of New York's La Guardia's Airport was brought to a halt after someone spilled tomato juice on an x-ray machine. Watch video of Bill Maher acting as his own security and kicking out hecklers. Language is not safe for work. | |||||
