| Thursday, September 6, 2007 While Neal's on vacation we're throwing in some reading assignments and other random notes. Keep checking back, because you never know when Neal is going to get a burr under his saddle and post something here while he's gone. REDNECK SCRAP BOOK Who says you need some fancy professional to fix your truck window? More in the Redneck Scrap Book. Oh, and Jon Goodwin has some more information about this redneck scrapbook entry:
In today's Best of Boortz, Neal talked about the book Younger Next Year: A Guide to Living Like 50 Until You're 80 and Beyond. So there's your link. You can stop emailing now. Great article. Lessons from a Wall Street trader in how to deal with poor, poor, pitiful poor people. Hillary Clinton says that when she becomes president Social Security privatization will be "off the table." Wow, what a surprise from the woman who thinks that America is great because of government. Hillary says that privatization "is not the answer to anything." That's because she believes that more government is the answer to everything. Yesterday we talked to Brent Bozell from the Media Research Center about bias in the media. Take a look for yourself at some of the research. Fox News is actually the most 'centrist' of news organizations in terms of factual reporting. And even the president of the Council on Foreign Relations says that Fox News is the most reliable news source ... and this was originally published in the New York Times! Here are more details on the three men arrested in Germany for the al Qaeda plot to blow up planes on September 11th. I talked about this yesterday ... how the heck do you 'mistakenly' fly nuclear warheads over a US air force base? Senator Jon Kyl says that local and state officials can't pass the buck to the federal government when it comes to enforcing immigration. Maybe the UK is finally getting it ... the BBC dropped a special on climate change because it is 'impartial,' and it is not the BBC's job to save the planet. This one is for the warmers. Doctors are blaming global warming for causing an increase in heart problems. Do you remember the 'stolen vote' that happened in the Congress before the August recess ... the one that would have cut off taxpayer-funded benefits for illegal immigrants? House Republicans have set up an investigative panel. Michael Chertoff is asking universities to keep an eye on foreign students. Last week we discussed the government's assessment of poverty. Here's another take on the 'real' poverty in the US ... and illegal immigration is a direct link. A German politician referred to the terrorist attacks of 9/11 as 'plane accidents.' It's been a while since I brought you a shining example of government-run health care. In Canada, people have to wait over a year to have surgery for prostate cancer. The latest cause of cancer: the buttery fumes of microwave popcorn? Today's blast from the past...a Wonderbra commercial from 1968. Groovy, baby! | ||
