| Friday, September 7, 2007 Neal is off on vacation. Next week, Herman Cain will be by to fill in. And don't forget to keep checking back here. We'll be updating the reading assignments daily and you never know when Neal will get bored and pop in to post something. There is no particular reason for this other than someone sent it to us. AND HOW ABOUT A SPOT OF HATE MAIL? David says:
REDNECK SCRAP BOOK I'm sure in certain back woods areas, this is a perfectly valid caution sign. More in the Redneck Scrap Book. READING ASSIGNMENTS Wow, Bruce Bartlett just won't let this FairTax/Scientology thing go. Hey look, subscribers to The New Republic can comment on the article.... Muslim ambassadors to Sweden are demanding that the country change its laws in order to appease their peaceful religion. Some of their demands include changing school curriculum to teach students to express their opinions without being 'offensive' or causing hurt. This same education will be used to train journalists too. If you missed the Republican debate this week, here are some video highlights. Fox News says that John McCain won the debate, despite his staunch support for amnesty. Dick Morris says that Hillary Clinton is a hypocrite because all of the sudden she is preaching 'compromise.' Michael Chertoff warns sanctuary cities for illegal immigrants that Homeland Security will not tolerate "interference" by cities that still allow illegals to be hired by employers. He is threatening to cut off funding if he disagrees with a cities' policy on immigration. Engineers say that building the border fence is 'very doable,' but it only requires two things: time and money. As of right now, the federal government estimates that it will take 5 years to build ... and that is only for half of the fence. Lately I've bringing you many stories about government schools. Here's a look at the unintended consequences of zero-tolerance policies and why they exist in the first place. The peaceful religion of Islam has a plan to tackle the evils of un-Islamic Western clothing ... blow up the clothing shops. So now that Fred Thompson is in the race, he is making all the anticipated stops. First stop: Iowa. And here are some of Thompson's views on global warming. I'll give you a hint ... he doesn't buy into the hype. The French really did elect a new president who breaks from their traditional politics. Sarkozy is different in style and culture, not to mention his foreign policy strategy. Tensions are high between Israel and Syria. Israelis supposedly violated Syrian airspace and then Syria fired at the Israeli planes. Meanwhile, Iran says that it will support Syria through this 'time of need.' Speaking of Syria. Dennis Kucinich recently visited the president of Syria, but he refused to stop in Iraq and visit the troops. He says that the war in Iraq is illegal and he refuses to "bless that occupation with my presence." In China if you talk back to your boss three times, you're fired. Today's blast from the past, interior design ideas that'll make your eyes bleed. Let's just say, minimalism doesn't live here. Don't let your small children see this shadow puppet show...you'll never be able to live up to it. Amazing! In yesterday's Best of Boortz, Neal talked about the book Younger Next Year: A Guide to Living Like 50 Until You're 80 and Beyond. There's your link. If you can't find that, then you're beyond help, aren't you. | ||
