AFTERTHOUGHT!

EVEN TOTAL IDIOTS MAKE SENSE ONCE IN A WHILE

Mentioned this morning on the show that Hugo the Horrible did an eight hour radio show yesterday in which he ranted and raved about the custom of buying teenaged girls boob jobs when they turn 15. Evidently that's the "coming out" age for girls in Venezuela.  In Hugo's country banks have special loan programs for young girls to get their new fun bags.  Now ... just what would you call a loan like that?   Maybe a tag line on the commercials like "pay interest to draw interest."

I wonder how much of this boob job gift for teenagers stuff goes on here in America?

POWER LUNCH

Sorry folks .. .have to leave the studio for the power lunch. Makes it rough to do much of an afterthought.  More on the left wing lunatics in San Francisco tomorrow.

POWER LUNCH TODAY

We're going to have Chris Crowley and Dr. Harry Lodge, the authors of "Younger Next Year, Living Like 50 Until You're 80 and Beyond" on the air. They're flying down from New York today to be our guests. We all know that we should eat right, live right and exercise .. but these two characters are the ones who finally put it all into words that sunk in. You'll enjoy listening to them today.

AND A BOOK SIGNING TOMORROW!

Tomorrow The Neal Boortz Show will be coming to you from the Cobb Galleria as part of Newt Gingrich's "Solutions Day," a part of Newt's "American Solutions for Winning the Future. I'll have more information later ... including information on the FairTax workshop that Congressman John Linder and I will be hosting at the University of West Georgia on Saturday afternoon. If you'll click on the link you'll see that you will be able to watch that on Dish Network, DirecTV, or attend in person! It's free!

For now, though, I want to remind you that Newt and I will be signing books at the Cobb Galleria from 1:00 to 2:00 tomorrow ... directly after the radio show. Hope to see you there!

ATLANTA POORLY REPRESENTED ON ESPN TOWN HALL MEETING

I hope many of you managed to see that Sports Center special on ESPN last night. I was one of the panelists discussing "The Michael Vick Divide." The experience was very enjoyable, but I must admit that I was shocked by a good portion of the audience at the Sydney Marcus auditorium at the Georgia World Congress Center. Where did they get those people? (Well, not all of them .. but a good portion of them.) They were booing former Falcons defensive standout Chuck Smith for saying that Michael Vick committed a felony and had to pay the price, and when the moderator asked the audience to show by their applause whether or not dog fighting should be legal, the overwhelming response was that it should! Are these people serious? Dog fighting should be legal?

I'm sorry, but I can't help but thing that the audience there last night embarrassed Atlanta and themselves.

But ... people say that about me too.

Oh, look, ESPN has posted a couple of video clips from the Town Hall Meeting. Hear the Talkmaster get booed in the 2nd clip..

THE UNITED NATIONS ... HARD AT WORK

Venezuela's Hugo Chavez decided not to show at the meeting of the United Nations General Assembly ... he's probably too busy trying to turn back the clocks one half hour, to ensure that he is not on the same time as the "imperial United States."

In the meantime, anti-Bush protestors were arrested on the streets of New York outside of the U.N. building. Business as usual. While the arrests were underway Bush was busy yanking the chains of Cuban delegates to the point where they up and left during his speech. Bush said that Cuba is nearing the end of its long rule of a cruel dictatorship. Cuba's Foreign Minister Felipe Perez Roque said that this was an arrogant and mediocre statement. What Rogue failed to realize ... was that it is true.

But that's not all ... meanwhile the U.N. is cooking up its latest ploy: taxing the world with the Sea Treaty. Now the treaty itself is not new; it has been around since the 1970s. But the US (Democratic-led) Senate is considering ratifying this mess. Let's see exactly what it wants to do. Oh how about this ... one of the provisions would levy a tax on members' undersea operations. It will require nations to pay at least 7% of their under-sea revenues to the U.N. It seems to me that if the U.N. wants to profit from the riches that lie at the bottom of the oceans, then the U.N. can explore and utilize those resources on its own.

Think about this. Guess who has over 400 million barrels of oil under the ocean, just waiting to be tapped? The United States. Guess who has large reserves of natural gas and crystallized methane waiting under water? The United States. Taxes levied on just these U.S. reserves alone would be billions of dollars. Those dollars then go into the U.N.'s funds where they are redistributed to each according to their needs, often to countries that don't have our best interests at heart.

Senator James Inhofe makes a good point: "They are desperate for a way to collect global taxes so they don't have to answer to us every time they do something that's bad."

NORWAY FUNDING KORAN SCHOOLS

Norway has provided over $1 million in "aid" to 118 "Koran schools" in Pakistan. Investigations show that Koran schools, particularly in Karachi, have trained jihad suicide bombers and sent them to Afghanistan and Kashmir. It is assumed that schools outside of Karachi are also breading Islamic fundamentalists.

In essence, Norway is funding Pakistani breeding grounds for terrorists; or, if you want to put it more bluntly, Norway is funding terrorism.

Norway's minister of foreign aid says that the goal of the project was to "promote dialogue." However when giving money, Norway doesn't demand to know the schools' curriculum ... as if the schools would tell the truth if asked. And the socialist party says that giving aid to the schools would "further religious tolerance."

This is not the time for Norway to be giving help to the very schools that are breeding fundamentalism and set on the destruction of Western culture.

S-CHIP LOOPHOLE

The S-CHIP would provide a way for illegal aliens to get healthcare benefits ... paid for by U.S. taxpayer dollars.

Congressional staffers have found a loophole in S-CHIP legislation. The language of the bill states that the Social Security Administration would verify citizenship status. So to be eligible for the program, all you need to do is provide a Social Security number.

Okay ... are you seeing where I am going with this? Even if someone submits a social security number, the SSA can only verify that a number is valid. What they can't verify is if the number actually belongs to the person that submits it! Therefore, an illegal alien can use any number to be eligible for the program. All the SSA would do is confirm that the number exists.

This, of course, is exactly what the MoveOn Democrat Party wants. It's all about votes.

VOTER ID GOES TO COURT

Yesterday that Supreme Court decided to take the case on voter ID laws. We know all of the typical arguments from liberals ... it targets the poor and minorities and the Democrats are losing votes.

Early next year the justices will hear a challenge to Indiana laws requiring voters to show an ID before voting. The state's obvious and legitimate case is that it prevents voter fraud.

Bill Groth is an attorney representing the Indiana Democratic Party. He has decided to take this argument to the next level ... he wants the Supreme Court to rule on the right to vote. Groth says, "The court has over and over stressed that the right to vote should be protected, and any state law that burdens that right should be carefully and meticulously reviewed."

Now this ought to be interesting because, as I've pointed out in my book "Somebody's Gotta Say It!" there is no right to vote in any federal election under our Constitution. No, I don't have any confidence that the Supreme Court would actually interpret our Constitution literally ... but that is the way it is. Deal with it.

This report points out that democracy is not spreading throughout the world, in fact it is retreating. Political oppression, corruption and restrictions on freedom of expression are all on the rise ... and that's just in the United States!

Still waiting for the Senate to vote on the DREAM Act ... here's a sob story about an illegal alien who went to college for - get this - social work! And now she can't get her license because she is illegal. So she might go to school, again, until they pass this bill. Let her go do her social work in Tijuana.

The Bush administration is suing the state of Illinois for complicating federal efforts to crack down on illegal immigration. Illinois signed a law excluding its employers from stricter employment verification. Go get 'em.

Representative Pete King points out the dangers of Muslim extremists that breed in US, particularly in radical mosques. He's received a lot of flak for his comments, but you'll be interested to see the research in support of his argument.

Nearly two-thirds of people around the world think that urgent action must be taken to stop global warming ... I mean climate change. Now we know that two-thirds of the people in the world are easily fooled.

A Swedish artist has made a Christ dog sculpture to stimulate debate in light of the recent Muslim uproar over cartoons depicting the prophet Muhammed. I love dogs, and I love Jesus. So .. .no problem.

Our government schools at work. Less than half of Virginia's 4th and 8th graders are proficient in basic math and reading ... and sadly, this is above the national average.

The city of San Francisco wouldn't let Marines film a recruiting commercial on the city streets on 9/11.

This article tries to explain why more American children are becoming obese. Of course they blame it on being surrounded by temptation ... and not on the lack of parental control or taking responsibility for your own actions, in the case of teenagers.

Scientists have proven that lack of sleep is bad for your health. But now, getting too much sleep doubles your risk of death.
