| Thursday, September 27, 2007 We're broadcasting today from the Cobb Galleria, site of Newt Gingrich's American Solutions for Winning the Future workshop. There's room for a studio audience, so come on by if you want to! You can click here for more information on the American Solutions event. Yes ... Newt will be stopping by. Look, I love the city. It's wonderful. Earlier this year Belinda and I spent a week there broadcasting from the studios of our San Francisco affiliate 860 AM KRTB. We look forward to coming back for some more live broadcasts in the very near future. Hey ... I even lived in San Francisco for a while when I was a mere rug rat. And just why did I live in San Francisco? Because my father was working there for a short time. My father - the United States Marine. Now you know where I'm going with this. San Francisco - its public officials, not its people - has flipped off the United States Marine Corp. San Francisco has just delivered an insult to every man and woman who ever has or who ever will wear the dress blues of a United States Marine. The Marines, you see, wanted to do some filming on San Francisco's California Street for a Marine recruitment commercial. On Monday of this week the Marine's Silent Drill Platoon did some of their filming at Times Square in New York City. The obvious goal here is to show these Marines on the streets of America's great cities. Did I say great cities?
When the Marines made their request to film on a San Francisco street Miss Stephanie said "No way." Oh, she did give the Marines permission to film, just so long as there were not any actual Marines in the video. When the media came forward to ask her why the snub, she wouldn't talk. Then some of her handlers obviously told her that she had to come up with some sort of an excuse ... so she did. Traffic. Now here's the part I can't say on the air. Traffic? Horseshit. Stephanie Coyote is a radical left-winger who has a searing hatred for the American military. She pals around with the likes of Sean Penn and is married to a left-wing moonbat who writes articles lamenting his failure to do more to reign in capitalism. San Francisco has a rich military history. Who knows how many American men and women passed under the Golden Gate on Navy ships during World War II? As they sailed into the Pacific their last glimpse of the country they loved would have been a fog shrouded San Francisco. Tens of thousands of these people never came back. Tens of thousands more longed for the day they would stand on the deck of another troop ship and see that same Golden Gate coming out of the fog to welcome them back. What kind of a welcome do they get now? They get slapped in the face by some military-hating leftist Hollywood type who, thanks to Mayor Gavin Newsome, finds herself in a position of some power. The Marines? They take Stephanie's snub in stride .. and proceed to film in areas where her hatred can't reach them. Here's a link with some pictures of the Marine Silent Drill Platoon on the shore opposite San Francisco ... where Stephanie Pleet Coyote's leftist hatred doesn't rule the day.
After Tuesday night's experience with that audience at the ESPN Sports Center town hall meeting, I'm sure there are many people who will say that Vick is completely innocent here as well. He didn't smoke that marijuana. Some white dude planted it on him. (In his urine? Come on!) Or that he is being singled out because he's black. Black? Yeah, he's black. Big deal. What he really is, is out of freaking control. Would someone please reign this fool in before he destroys the rest of his life? Well, here's an interesting website. It's called the "Candidate Calculator" and it is supposed to help you find the 2008 presidential candidate who most mirrors your positions on the issues. So far almost a half-million people have given this thing a shot. You answer yes, no or unsure to a series of questions, and then state whether you consider the importance of that particular issue to be low, medium or high. I took the text ... and will tell you the results later. Why don't you give it a shot and share your findings with us!
Kansas City, Missouri is the latest battle ground for the illegal immigration debate. And you are just going to love what has stirred the puddin'. Over the summer, newly elected Mayor Mark Funkhouser appointed a woman named Frances Semler to the city's parks and recreation board. Hispanic leaders began to gripe because Semler is a member of the Minuteman Civil Defense Corps. Come on now, the woman was appointed to the parks and recreation board ... how important a job does she really have? Besides that, her Hispanic critics say that the Minutemen are "a racist band of vigilantes patrolling the Mexican border with guns and intimidation." What horsecrap. All these men and women do is watch our borders so that they can alert American law enforcement authorities and Border Patrol officials when they see criminal Mexicans sneaking across the border. She should be praised for her volunteer work, not condemned. Sadly La Raza and other ethnic organizations are threatening to boycott Kansas City ... oh darn! What a loss. The mayor refuses to remove Semler from the board. But members of the council are concerned that this will tarnish Kansas City's national image. Councilwoman Jan Marcason doesn't want people to view her city as a "right-wing extremist community!" The city seems shocked that illegal immigrants would find themselves so far away from the border. Marcason goes on to point out that it's strange that "they" (I assume she means illegal immigrants) "feel like they should even be here."
Fine. What's the big deal? Well, it would seem that Omeish is the president of the Muslim American Society, which has significant ties to the Muslim Brotherhood. If you don't remember this terrorist group, take a look for yourself. But we're not through yet. The Muslim American Society itself is in full agreement with Islamists' "ultimate goal" ... to turn America into an Islamic state. Not only that, but Omeish admitted that the Muslim American Society has been influenced by the Muslim Brotherhood and has in mind "the goal of an Islamic state." Omeish also says that he supports Sharia in a majority of Muslim nations. You know that pesky little law where converts from Islam are killed and women are violently abused. Oh and if you want to hear the eloquent Omeish call for the destruction of
Israel,
just watch this little video.
Because of the growing popularity of satellite imaging programs such as Google Earth, more people became aware of the swastika-shaped complex of buildings. Then the Anti-Defamation League got involved and campaigned for the building to be changed. Now it finally got its way as the Navy, during war-time, has decided to spend the time and money to fix the building ... just so it doesn't offend anyone looking at the building from the air. We're back to Oregon for this story. A fire hydrant that was painted as an American flag was removed from a local dog park because people complained that dogs were, well, doing what they do best. What people failed to realize was that the American flag fire hydrant was made as a memorial to a police dog that was killed in the line of duty. The hydrant was a tribute to his service. Park officials had already thought of the problem of dogs urinating on the hydrant so they put prickly shrubs around it, but that didn't seem to stop the dogs. Now the taxpayers have to pay to have the hydrant removed, replaced, and set up elsewhere. Meanwhile, a Republican congressman has proposed a bill prohibiting schools from banning students from wearing American flags to school. If the school refuses, it may not receive its federal funding. The University of California is funded by California taxpayers. A program within the University system called the Middle East Partnership Initiative is funded by the U.S. State Department. And until a few days ago ... the program refused to admit Israeli Jews. It wasn't until a Jewish journalist inquired about San Diego's Middle East Entrepreneur Training program that she discovered she wouldn't be eligible. Here were the requirements: Open to citizens of "Algeria, Bahrain, Egypt, Iraq, Israel (limited to Israeli Arab citizens), Jordan, Kuwait, Lebanon, Morocco, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Tunisia, the United Arab Emirates, West Bank/Gaza and Yemen." Meanwhile, the Middle East Entrepreneur Training program glorifies the fact that it "does not discriminate on the basis of sex, race, color, age, religion, national origin, or handicap." When IsraeliNationalNews.com inquired about the eligibility, a program manager confirmed that it was only for Arab Israelis. After more questions the Institute's Director, Robert Fuller, sent out an apology email saying it was open to ALL Israelis. He never mentioned why it was originally limited to Arab Israelis (although it doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure it out). The program website was down for over a day until the words were deleted.
I'm glad I'm not the only person out there who thinks that, for the most part, the studio audience that showed up at Tuesday's ESPN Town Hall meeting on Michael Vick truly embarrassed the City of Atlanta. Apparently other people feel the same way. Here's the take from Sports Scope in USA Today, and this from Vick's hometown newspaper. And this excellent column from fellow panelist Terrance Moore. ESPN has posted a couple of video clips from the Town Hall Meeting in case you missed it. Hear the Talkmaster get booed in the 2nd clip. The House voted to expand the S-CHIP program. Not to worry, it is almost certain the Bush will veto the bill, and there are not enough votes to override the veto. Al Gore calls global warming an "emergency" and urges for the creation of a "Marshall plan" to help fight global warming AND global poverty. Nike is releasing sneakers for American Indians ... Native Americans ... whatever the politically correct term is these days ... in order to promote fitness and fight obesity. Hofstra University is inviting Lynne Stewart - the lawyer convicted of providing material support to terrorists - to speak on an ethics panel. The University describes Stewart as "defending many unpopular clients over the years." Lawmakers in Pennsylvania are upset with the lack of progress on immigration policies. So they've created a list of 120 crimes committed by Pennsylvania illegal immigrants against legal citizens. <p>MoveOn.org paid The New York Times the $77,508 it owed for the "Betray Us" ad.California's Barbara Boxer seems to be Al Gore's latest global warming puppet. Just take a look at the way she treats global warming skeptics compared to believers ...as the Chairman of the U.S. Senate Committee on Environment and Public Works. The judge in Larry Craig's plea deal case decided not to rule on the case until later next week, which is past Craig's self imposed deadline to resign. If you are currently eating something, I suggest you put it down before you read this heinous excuse for liberal journalism ... journalists having dinner with Mahmoud Ahmadinejad. Three Mexicans were stopped at the California border on suspicion of smuggling drugs. The handcuffed kids managed to jump into the border patrol car and drive back to Mexico! A lab technician at a hospital has been fired for supposedly biting a three-year-old boy while trying to draw blood from the boy. The boy, by the way, was having blood drawn because his parents were concerned about ... the recall of toys with lead paint. Some animal rights activist stole a pet bunny from a preschool and left anti-circus fliers in its place. Here's good news for all you men in Tennessee. If you propose to your gal and the wedding is called off, you legally have the right to get the ring back Michael Vick tests positive for marijuana. Just how much of an idiot is this guy? Is someone going to step in and stop this self destructive binge? Now they're saying that Hillary Rodham has the nomination all but locked up for the MoveOn Democrat Party. In England they're writing that this is going to cost the Democrats ... big time. There is a God. If I owned an apartment complex I would do the same thing ... refuse to rent to people with tattoos on their necks, covering their arms, etc. Sorry, but it is perfectly reasonable to judge someone by their appearance ... but your judgment should always be subject to change. This idiot had guns tattooed to his arms. Sorry ... no apartment for you. Not that you haven't heard all of this before on my show ... but our bud John Stossel tells you a bit of what is so terribly wrong with our health insurance system. | ||
