Some observers are wondering today why Obama can't put this thing away. He has the lead in popular vote, states won and delegates .. .yet he can't, as Hillary says, "close the deal." Could it be that more and more people are starting to see Obama for what he is? What do we really have here? We have handsome and glib young man with no accomplishments to his name beyond college. We have a candidate who pays homage to terrorists and seeks their support in his early political campaigns, and who now preaches the doctrine of surrender in the face of Islamic terrorism. We have a candidate who stands in front of large hero-worshipping crowds waving mass-produced "Change we can believe in" signs and says essentially nothing. Though I certainly haven't heard everything Obama has said, I do know I've never heard him sing the praises of freedom and economic liberty. He made his feelings about middle America plain with his guns and God comment. He has stated his belief that the tax system should be used for more than raising the revenues needed to fund the federal government. In Obama's world politicians should also look at the type of work people do and the kind of money they earn, and then step in to make adjustments in the name of "fairness." Remember too that yesterday's primary was the first post Jeremiah Wright contest. There are not too many people outside of Philadelphia who love to should "God Damn America." People are starting to understand Barack Obama. They're starting to wonder just how far he has come from his Marxist-worshiping days in school. It takes a lot to make Hillary look good. Perhaps that's Barack Obama's greatest accomplishment. Seattle taxpayers are going to fork over $200,000 for a government school principal not to work. Joseph Drake was the principal at John Marshall Alternative School for 12 years. The school is located in the Seattle government school district. Reports start surfacing about principal Drake. It seems that he's viewed as a "threatening person" by his staff. He also uses the F-word during meetings and he bullies evaluators who come to report on his school. The list of hits goes on and on. Now if this were a private company the solution would be simple (if, that is, there wasn't a union out there to protect this character). Simply put, someone with these character traits would be fired. End of story. But noooooo. Not in this case. Here we are dealing with government. So when the Superintendent wrote Principal Drake a letter telling him that he may be "terminated," he wrote back asking for four years worth of pay. Keep in mind, this government employee makes an annual salary of $105,000. The district said no, we will only pay you one year ... in addition to the money he collects on paid leave. In other words, Principal Drake will collect $200,000 from the taxpayers just to leave the school system. The real kicker, folks ... Principal Drake feels that he is entitled to this compensation. He says that he deserved the four years of pay "in order that my family and I continue to experience a quality lifestyle." Isn't that sweet? You should fork over your money that you earned so that this government-employed idiot can sit on his butt and do nothing and continue to experience a quality lifestyle.
The Educational Testing Service, in a report titled "America's Perfect Storm," cited three powerful forces that are affecting the quality of life for millions of Americans and already shaping the nation's future. They are:
Did you see that first point? Yeah ... the one about the "wide disparity in literacy and math skills." Looks like reason number one for our declining lifestyles would be the government school system, doesn't it? Well, leave it to the Talkmaster to come up with three of his own forces that are changing America's future:
Ok global warming cultists - Al Gore fans - you really need to sit down on this one. We don't want you to get too upset. This is about his Oscar winning film on global warming "An Inconvenient Truth." There's a scene in that movie that shows the Antarctic ice shelf breaking up and virtually disintegrating. The problem is that wasn't ice. That was Styrofoam. ABC News is reporting that Al Gore took that footage from the fictional movie "The Day After Tomorrow" and used it in his documentary. Way to go Al. That ice is just about as fake as you are. Before we go on this day after Earth Day stuff ... you will be interested in knowing that only about 35% of the people in this country are all that concerned about global warming. That is about the same percentage as about 20 years ago. At least our collective ignorance hasn't increased all that much on this issue. And while we're learning that Al Gore used Styrofoam in his movie to depict his dream of melting ice caps, here we have some sort of think tank in the UK saying that climate change (the newest term for global warming) could lead to centuries of world war. Read into the story and you'll find that the chief author of the report from what is termed a "defense think tank" is also the head of an environmental group. These people have an investment in so-called "climate change." When we all realize that this climate change is part of a normal cycle that has been going on for millions of years what are the environmental groups going to do to raise money?
I got beat up in the email pretty good for manhandling Johnny on the air yesterday. Johnny called to inform me that I was all wrong on my assertion that there is no Constitutional right to vote in a federal election. I suggested that he get off the phone immediately and call the Clerk of the Supreme Court of the United States to inform then that the Supreme Court made a grievous error in 2000 when it issued a unanimous ruling that there is no Constitutional right to vote in a federal election. One emailer yesterday said that I should have been more gentle .. and that now Johnny is probably going to become a lawyer for the ACLU. My bad.
A mugshot from DeKalb County, Georgia. I guess she CAN'T get away with anything....More fail fun here. Of course, fark has caught on to the fun. And, don't miss the top 10 t-shirts to get arrested in. READING ASSIGNMENTS Here's a pretty strong editorial from the New York Times on Hillary's win in Pennsylvania. Remember, the NYT has endorsed Hillary. Here's the Wall Street Journal's take on why Obama can't close the deal. And while we're paging through the Wall Street Journal, here's a column telling us that the ObamaMedia is outraged because Obama finally had to answer a few tough questions. You do know, don't you, that the purpose of this outrage is to dissuade any reporters from asking tough questions in the future. So Chelsea thinks that her mom will make a better president than Bill because she is "more prepared and more progressive." Gag me. It doesn't matter anyway ... Hillary is toast. John McCain is on his week-long poverty tour right now ...visiting all the "forgotten" places in America. When is a presidential candidate going to celebrate achievement? We've been hearing more of these John McCain sound bites filled with populist rhetoric, and sadly this is going to be what gets him elected. This is what the American voters think they want to hear. Let's touch on the mortgage crisis here .. .the crisis that was caused by liberals demanding that lending institutions make more loans to marginal borrowers. John Stossel reminds us that the sky is not, in spite of what you might have heard, falling. What we're really hearing out there is just excuses for more government. Slick Willie must be tired and fatigued ... just like the day that Hillary "misspoke" about the Bosnia snipers ... because he is lying about things he said literally yesterday. You'll hear the clips on the show today. The Clintons still haven't gotten the hint that they need to pay their unpaid bills from the campaign trail. Why do they think they are any different when it comes to deadlines? I'll tell you why ... because they believe they are better than you. John McCain is beating Barack Obama ... and that is in Massachusetts polls. That's pretty sad if the MoveOn.org candidate can't win Massachusetts. President Bush's disapproval ratings are at a historical low. Hey, the guy definitely has issues, but we have a lot to thank him for in terms of protecting our country and fighting the war against Islamic extremism. Oklahoma's unemployment rate has plummeted ... and guess why? Because it is enforcing illegal immigration laws. But the lamestream media won't tell you that part of the story. Are Americans really influenced by celebrity worship? Or are they just afraid to admit it? The UK Foreign Secretary has "strongly condemned" anti-Islam propaganda that he says is being launched "in the name of freedom of expression." According to this article, we are to believe that alienating Muslim inmates in UK prisons is what fuels religious extremism. The religion itself has nothing to do with it. Dancing, drinking, listening to Western music ... yep, that means jail time in Iran. Guess which baseball teams played the very first Major League carbon neutral game last night? When you get hit in the head by the falling beam, don't question why the hospital insists on giving you a rectal exam. The More You Know: how bacon is made. Wow, check out these weird and creepy playgrounds. Stuff of nightmares, for sure. | |||
