Just grand. Now we're approaching the point that you might have to go before some sort of grand government inquisition before you can open a business. Is your business good for people making this amount of money? Should you have to chose a neighborhood where people make more? What's next? Segregating businesses on the basis of the racial makeup of a neighborhood? What brought this about? That would be blubber butts. Residents of this low-income community complained that too many fast food restaurants were opening and their neighbors were getting fat. No word yet on just who was forcing their neighbors to eat at these slop houses. Look .. the fast food restaurants opened in these neighborhoods because there was a demand for them. If you want them to leave, quit patronizing them. These are poor folks. They got that way by always taking the easy way out. That's what they're going to do when it comes to eating ... the easy way out ... fast food. It is not up to the government to regulate their desires.
Didja year about this one? Some maniac with a huge knife beheaded a man on a Greyhound bus in Canada. If you want a description of what happened, you can click here. When the attack occurred the other passengers abandoned ship. Hard to blame them. Who wants to rush this maniac with a knife when everyone can get away? I do have a question though. What if someone - just one person on that bus - had a concealed carry permit and was carrying a gun. How would things have been different? There's a problem though. This is Canada. No guns. No carry permits. No way to save this victim. Oh well. WASTED ADVERTISING DOLLARS Hmmm....I wonder if the Obama camp realizes that their ad banners come up during our show? Thanks to Scott for the screen shot.
The answer is ... children. Well, maybe a few of them qualify as young adults. But the young 20-somethings of America are becoming extremely politically active and they have chosen their cause: the environment. Here's an example of what I am talking about. Greenpeace has a summer campaign called "Change It", which teaches 140 young people how to move lawmakers with grassroots campaigns. For 140 slots, Greenpeace received over 1,000 applications. The Greenpeace student coordinator Amanda Starbuck says, "To me, this is the strongest student movement since the 1960s ... The current generation is very environmental-minded and [has] a real sense of empowerment." Empowerment? More like they feel they know it all. They are at that age. They'll grow out of it. Hopefully. More indoctrination programs are being spearheaded on campuses across this country. The goal is to find "climate-conscious voters" and make sure that they push green issues on politicians. Why do they target campuses? Because this is where you find voting-age people at the height of idealism where rational thought processes have not yet been fully developed (if at all). What better place to recruit for fresh, new anti-capitalist "environmentalists" than on a college campus. And when it comes to lobbying on Capitol Hill, young activists apparently have many advantages over older lobbyists because politicians are more willing to "take a chance on an unknown kid." And these are the people that are trying to shape the future of this country - while we're trying to teach them how to think. Make no mistake, folks. The environmental movement is not about trees, birds and Polar Bears. It is about destroying capitalism. Pay attention.
John McCain's latest ad painting Barack Obama as a celebrity is really catching some flack. The people are outraged! How dare he bring down the great Messiah to the level of Britney Spears or Paris Hilton! Well it turns out that the McCain camp didn't do enough research when producing the commercial ... the Hilton family is (or was) a supporter of John McCain. Paris's parents have donated a combined $6,900 to the McCain campaign. Paris' grandfather, William Barron Hilton, the co-chairman of the Hilton hotel chain, has made five separate donations to McCain, totaling $15,100. He has also contributed $15,000 to the National Republican Senatorial Committee. So no telling how the Hilton family feels about McCain using Paris as a celebutwit ... but it is what she is, after all. Meanwhile, the mainstream media will produce enough outrage for the family, whether they care or not. A man in Minneapolis by the name of Tom Kleven is training for a triathlon. You know ... the bike, swim, run ... an exhausting physical accomplishment. So on Tuesday night Tom goes to Lake Nokomis to go for a swim. When he returned to shore, there are Minneapolis Park Police waiting for him. They are waiting because they wanted to cite Tom with a violation for "swimming too far." Tom was attempting to swim shore to shore, but when he got half way across the lake, a lifeguard ordered him to turn around. When he returned, the officers cited him for a misdemeanor for an unauthorized beach-swim. He now faces a maximum penalty of 90 days in jail and a $1,000 fine. In the future, if Kevin wants to swim across the lake, he has to go to the government to obtain a $115 permit. Then when he wants to swim, he must be escorted by a lifeguard and a boat while he swims across the lake. Unbelievable.
But moving right along ... naturally, the Oklahoma chapter of CAIR has become involved. It is going to file an EEOC complaint on behalf of the woman. The chapter's executive director says, "Employers have a clear legal duty to accommodate the religious practices of their workers ... To deny someone employment because of apparent religious bias goes against long-standing American traditions of tolerance and inclusion." Well to be fair, the job belongs to Abercrombie and Fitch. Nobody is forcing this woman to obtain employment with this hideous company. She is not entitled to the job. You get the point. Here's another point. These CAIR clowns would be perfectly willing to prohibit a non-Muslim woman the right to employment for failure to wear an official Muslim CAIR-approved headscarf it they had the power to do so. Remember, even the esteemed Ibrahim Hooper, CAIR spokesmuslim, has said that it is his goal to see the United States brought under Sharia law. But .. until they get the control they want, here are CAIR's demands for this woman's plight:
This group is worthy of nothing less than being completely ignored. READING ASSIGNMENTS Nancy Pelosi would rather shut down the congress than have a debate on drilling for oil. Alaska Senator Ted Stevens pleaded not guilty on corruption charges and wants a trial before the elections in November so he can clear his name with the voters. Two senators are calling on the Olympic Committee to reverse its decision on Internet censorship ... yeah, right. Worry about offshore drilling. At least you can get something done there. The latest global warming scare: we are going to have more raw sewage in our local water supplies because sewer systems are aging ... because of climate change. No, I'm not kidding. Here we have climate change being used as an excuse to bleed taxpayers for more money. The Muslims Public Affairs Council had a little demonstration in front of the office of Congressman Brad Sherman in California ... they were upset that he had the audacity to hold a hearing on whether American tax dollars are funding organizations affiliated with terrorism. How outraged are Americans? Apparently not as bad as they have been in years past. That goes for everyone except those who are "extremely liberal." Like we care about them. California is considering a pilot program to provide free condoms to prison inmates. Luckily your tax dollars aren't paying for this ... yet. Government school children in New Mexico are gearing up for some world-class education ... New Mexico have become the first state to adopt a Navajo textbook. Students at government schools in Fort Walton Beach will now have to pay a $5 locker fee because of budget cuts. Here's what happens when government tries to regulate which disabled people get which parking. The Governor of Washington was turned away from a bar in the state capital because she didn't have any ID on her and therefore couldn't prove she's old enough to drink. This is truly the definition of an urban outdoorsman ... only he has a cell phone and laptop computer. Hit in the eye by a golf ball? That would be a $725,000 settlement. When your son is charged as an adult for spray painting graffiti around your community, mom says, "He's just a normal teenager out having fun, tagging stuff as they do - not to say it was right." Two young boys set up a very successful lemonade stand ... catering to Hells Angels. The thin-skinned Catholics must be horrified ... somebody has put a sculpture of a crucified frog near the Pope's summer vacation spot. Do not click on the link in this reading assignment. Seriously ... don't. This is just a little iffy. This guy spent $320 to produce one of the most horrific beer ads I've seen. This one for Guinness. The producer just wanted to give people a laugh. Me? Well, I was just horrified when I saw this. Horribly offended, I was. Oh, the debauchery! I don't think I shall ever recover. Like I said, don't click on this link. Have you ever seen a lion riding in a side car on a vertical wall? Now you have. Since it's anything goes Friday and all, have some more vintage photographs. If you've been fired for unprofessional conduct, travel improprieties and misuse of state resources, the TSA wants you! | ||
