| Monday, August 4, 2008 What else can I say. You know government schools are worse than terrible. But you have made the decision to take the most precious thing in your life and turn it over to the government for what the government calls an "education." You haven't even taken the time to let your congressman or senator know how you feel about school choice. Your child - your choice. Too bad for your child. Someday you tell him or her why a brand new car and all of those lifestyle expenses were so much more important than their education.
And while were at it - and in hopes that I can get the attention of those MediaMatters footstools - let's put a little bug in your ear for the next time you hear some fool tell us how hard it is for someone to raise a family on the minimum wage. Bulletin: If you are incapable of earning more than the minimum wage in this country you have no business whatsoever raising a family. If you anticipate that, due to your lack of an education, work ethic or any measurable job skill, you are never going to be able to earn more than the minimum wage ... be a good citizen and get sterilized.
So ... look for The Chosen One to return to the "little people" this week. Back to his roots, so to speak. Oh ... and can we address that "white working class" thing again? Would that be why Obama proposed a massive income transfer from the evil "Big Oil" companies to that very group this past week? In case you missed it, The Chosen One proposes to tax the dog squeeze out of those evil, nasty, vicious, corrupt, stinking oil companies so that he can send a $1000 check to every "working family" in America. Obama's campaign tells us that if a single person earns less than $75,000 a year, or $150,000 for a married couple, you are a working family. Earn more than that and you're not working any more. There you go white middle class ... that is Barack Obama recognizing that he has been a little too impressed with his imperial self lately and he wants to make amends. There is a problem here, though it is not one that the government educated dumb masses of this country are likely to figure out on their own. Just who owns the profits these oil companies have earned? That would be the stockholders. And just who might these stockholders be? Well, about 1.5 percent of them are oil company executives. The rest are the rank and file Americans who own mutual funds and workers who will rely on pension plans for their retirements. Pension plans and mutual funds, you may not know, are major investors in oil company stocks. This means that the retirement incomes of school teachers, firemen, police officers, municipal workers, flight attendants, warehousemen, truck drivers, hotel employees and other service sector workers and others may rely in part on the financial health of the oil companies in which their pension funds hold stock. Obama the Magnificent wants these pension funds to cough up some of their earnings so that he can hand out checks to voters. Too bad the government-educated masses can't see through this, and too bad the media won't point it out to them. Well it looks like someone in the Obama camp finally got the message ... the American people want to drill. So naturally, when it is politically convenient, Barack Obama has now changed his stance on drilling. Is he just pandering to the voters? Probably. But boy did this policy change get the liberals' boxers in a bunch. Seems that the Messiah may be trying too hard to paint himself as a moderate ... don't worry all you Daily Kos kids ... Obama really is far more liberal in his policies. Once he is elected, he'll be back to his same liberal agenda. So just hang tight. Here's what Obama said in a speech last Friday in Florida, "My interest is in making sure we've got the kind of comprehensive energy policy that can bring down gas prices ... If, in order to get that passed, we have to compromise in terms of a careful, well thought-out drilling strategy that was carefully circumscribed to avoid significant environmental damage - I don't want to be so rigid that we can't get something done." This is definitely a different tune than Obama has been singing ... he used to be opposed to more coastline drilling and complained that oil companies are not exploring the areas that are currently open for drilling. Hey .. the goal is his election. His true slogan is not "yes we can." It is "whatever it takes."
This is a quote from one of the most powerful women in the world. Amazing and depressing. Not only is San Francisco a sanctuary city, it is coming close to violating federal law by knowingly harboring illegal immigrants ... thanks to your tax dollars. Mayor Gavin Newsom's office has granted more than $650,000 to nonprofit agencies to provide young illegal immigrants with "free" services. These nonprofits provide everything from attorneys to housing to "arts and cultural affirmation activities," according to city records. So rather than deport juvenile illegal aliens, Mayor Gavin Newsom's office is knowingly providing grants to nonprofit agencies to care for them. Here's what the mayor's office had to say, "A key goal of this project is to assist these individuals to successfully navigate the juvenile justice system and achieve stability within the community setting." The goal of the grant program is (according to request for bids) "to further the city's 'proud tradition as a haven for immigrants.'" Being a haven for legal immigrants is one thing .. but what is it about people like Newsom who just can't seem to recognize the difference between law abiding and illegal activity? Joseph Russoniello, the U.S. attorney for the northern district of California and he says that Newsom's office has taken "the concept of sanctuary, and they applied it in a way that it is as close to harboring as I've ever seen." This may be a violation of federal law. Your tax dollars at work, ladies and gentlemen.
They are proposing to rent one of the government pools after normal business hours. They would arrange to have a female lifeguard on duty and they would shield the women from being seen by the public by hanging curtains around the pool. Really ... they needn't bother with the curtains. I hardly feel that anyone would be that interested. The Muslim women speaking on behalf of the issue says that everyone should have the right to exercise and good health. Oh ... so now exercise and good health are "rights?" But the city of Portland said no ... it discriminates against male lifeguards and appears that the city is endorsing Islam. Good for Portland. Speaking of the peaceful religion of Islam ... Many Boortz Show listeners were outraged by this story ... judging by the emails to Nealz Nuze. A Tyson Foods poultry processing plant in Shelbyville, TN will no longer give its workers a paid holiday on Labor Day. Instead, the workers will be given a holiday on Eid al-Fitr. This day marks the end of Ramadan, which is the Muslim holy month of fasting. You can thank the unions for this one. The Retail, Wholesale and Department Store Union secured the new 5-year contract with the plant in order to accommodate Muslim workers. Of the 1,200 people who work at the plant, nearly 700 are Muslims. Inch by inch, folks. Soon it will be our government caving into these demands. It's only a matter of time. Hmmmm. What do I mean "soon?" Aren't there Muslim footbaths at the Kansas City airport? READING ASSIGNMENTS In case you didn't get a chance to jot it down, Newt Gingrich's site for Drill Here, Drill Now is at americansolutions.com. A new John McCain ad features Barack Obama as The Messiah. I just love this one, so I had to lead with it. Predator robs man and women at ATM. Victim was armed. Predator ends up with a bullet in his head. Gotta love it. Obama originally said that McCain's idea for a series of pre-convention joint appearances at town hall meetings was a "great idea." No longer. Now Obama wants to stick with the three standard "debates" after the conventions. What's he afraid of? You know I'm strong on school choice. The Chosen One brushes them off with comments about "tired rhetoric on school vouchers." McCain favors school choice. Obama doesn't. This should settle your vote right there ... unless, of course, you're voting on the basis of skin color. Here is the Wall Street Journal addressing the question: "What is a windfall profit?" Unfortunately most Americans are more interested in whether or not Lindsey Lohan has gone gay or not. George Will brings up an excellent point ... if Obama can't seal the deal after his speech in Berlin, what is it going to take? You just have to love this Obama campaign commercial ... cooked up by the McCain team. Dick Morris says that August is the month that John McCain really needs to hit Barack Obama hard. Or he could just stand around and watch Barack slap himself around. Sen. Joseph Lieberman says that Barack Obama is not ready to be president. No ___ Sherlock? Now that Obama has clinched the nomination, he wants the delegates for Florida and Michigan to "have full voting rights." Are we witnessing the end of capitalism? Apparently we have businesses to blame for that ... the ones that support Republicans and refuse to ask that their taxes be raised "to provide the economic safety net for American workers." The United Nations Food and Agriculture Organization is rushing to save livestock in Peru ... because it is too cold. Global warming? The unemployment rate for teenagers in July jumped to its highest since 1992 ... any mention of the increase in minimum wage? Of course not. The government's latest attempt to curb illegal immigration ... let illegals turn themselves in. The New York Times is upset that President Bush hasn't done anything about crane safety. Everybody panic. Kuwait is about to pass a bill that will make it illegal to insult Islam on the Internet. So the global warmers are trying to convince you that public transportation is a greener way of getting around? Horsesqueeze. Here's a website that will offset the carbon offsets by promising to release CO2 into the atmosphere with every page view. Every click on the link is a slap at OwlGore. A government outrage from Great Britain: the government is spending hundreds of thousands of tax payer dollars to provide video games for prison inmates. Government school children as young as 8 in Great Britain are being given anger management lessons. Apparently France has something new to worry about: wine terrorists. A new university is opening up in London called The School of Life, which is supposed to help people who are consumed by work appreciate the finer things in life. Take a look at what was made out of the melted steel from the World Trade Center. Well here's something you don't see every day during a golf tournament. | ||
