The 8th annual News/Talk 750 WSB Care-A-Thon benefiting the Aflac Cancer Center at Children's Healthcare of Atlanta is coming up August 21-22, 2008. The great folks at Jim Ellis Chevrolet as been gracious enough to give us their first 2009 Corvette ZR1 to auction off for the Care-A-Thon. Bidding is now open and will be open until the final day of the Care-A-Thon on August 22, 2008.

George Will has some thoughts on the crisis between Georgia and Russia.The most telling reaction thus far has been Governor Bill Richardson's suggestion that the U.N. Security Council should "pass a strong resolution getting the Russians to show some restraint."Wait ... Russia is on the Security Council ... oops. Never mind.

But for now, Georgia has agreed to a European peace plan as Russia announced an end to military operations.

Last week I told you about the new Barack Obama salute ... well here is some follow up reaction from the creator of that symbol.Oh and by the way, did you know that this is going to be the peace sign of our generation?

The GOP isn't buying Nancy's apparent willingness to allow a vote on offshore drilling ... the drilling that she calls a "hoax."

Barack Obama is going to "end 30 years of ultra-right rule," according to the Communist Party.

Looks like we have another one of these stories about Barack Obama snubbing American troops ... similar to what happened when he visited Germany.

The Washington Post does a great job of debunking three 'truths' about offshore drilling.

Global warming?Yeah, it looks like fewer Americans are buying the hype these days.

But ... for those of you who live your life just consumed with the idea that everything you do must be "green," then move to Colorado Springs where you can have a "green burial" when you go toes up.

Here's one of my favorite topics ... wealth envy.This article about the evil rich comes from Great Britain.

How about a government outrage ... take a look at what the local government was trying to do in New Jersey.Luckily, this one has a happy ending.

Not only did police in Great Britain break into the wrong house ... but when they realized that they had the wrong house, they used magnetic letters on the fridge to spell out "OLDHAM TASK FORCE CALLED."

I think I'll pass on this one: Bird poo facial promises smoother skin.
