N.Y. GIANTS! YEEEE HAW! ... Ok, enough jock sniffing ....
The first (and obvious) observation is that up until now it seems to me that the MSM paid little attention to talk shows. After all, we were just "hate radio" and hardly worth credit for being radio's number one format. Now, when there seems to be some negative opinions of John McCain being expressed on many shows, the MSM is just beside itself! Well .... Thanks for the publicity! It seems to be true, though, that there are some icons on the right who have made it clear that they are neither going to support McCain's campaign, nor are they going to vote for him. Well ... even though I occupy a decidedly non-icon status, my views: First ... I don't believe that they won't end up casting their vote for him. Secondly ... does a McCain presidency really mean the end of the world? Can you honestly say that Hillary Clinton would be better than McCain? If I don't vote for the Republican nominee it won't be anything new. I've voted for the Libertarian candidate in about half of the elections since I started doing talk radio --- and very well may do so again this year. Just show me a Libertarian candidate who will go to the mat protecting this country from Islamic radicals and I'll vote for him. And that brings us to McCain. Though most Americans have gone to sleep on this issue, I still feel that the threat of Islamic fascism is the greatest threat facing this country. I truly believe that at some time in the future George Bush will get the recognition and thanks he so richly deserves for doing everything he could to protect us from these Islamic goons. We may never know what horrendous attacks were prevented by his steadfast devotion to our safety, and he may never get the thanks that is due. McCain, above all others, is the candidate who I believe will do what is needed to continue to carry the fight to the Islamofascists. These Islamic goons need to be found and killed over here before they bring their deadly version of Islam to us. I, too, have huge problems with McCain's promotion of the Campaign Finance Reform Act. I'm none too pleased with his favoring of amnesty for criminal illegal (redundant) aliens. He says his attitude has changed on this issue. We'll see. McCain's reasons for voting against the Bush tax cuts were logical. We don't know to this day how he would have voted had the margin been closer. McCain isn't the perfect candidate. Frankly, I think that Romney would make a better president. Dick Morris may be right, though, in telling us that McCain very well could win, while Romney very certainly could not. A little less bluster and a bit more thought would be appreciated on this issue.
This morning "FairTax, The Truth" was Number 22 on Amazon.com. Other than votes for Huckabee ... I can think of no better way to tell the media and Washington establishment that the people of this country want this tax reform, and want it sooner rather than later, than to give this book a push to a high debut on the bestseller's lists. Now's the time. Here's your link to Amazon.com where you can purchase the book and have it in your hot little hands by next Tuesday afternoon.
Her response: "George, we will have an enforcement mechanism. Whether it's [garnishing wages of people who don't comply] or it's some other mechanism through the tax system or automatic enrollments." So let's quickly review what would happen to you, the loyal taxpayer, if you choose to purchase your own healthcare, rather than relying on the government to provide it for you. Scenario #1: The government takes you to court in order to pay. Hillary says that "garnishing wages of people who don't comply" is an option. That means that there is a court-ordered process to take property from you in order to satisfy your debt to the government. The government takes your property in order to use your money for the service of others (in this case it would be healthcare). Sounds fair, right? What we have here is a clear indication that Hillary considers you and everything you possess to be the property of the U.S. Government. Scenario #2: Using the tax system as enforcement. I could think of a really easy way to eliminate this option. Wouldn't it be great to take away that power from Hillary? If she no longer had the IRS and our convoluted tax system to satisfy her socialist agenda, imagine the power you, the people, would have. Scenario #3: And the last scenario would not give you any option of whether or not you would like to have government healthcare. It would be mandated. Where did your freedom of choice or individual responsibility go? If Hillary has it her way, you wouldn't have any, would you? That's just the way the single women - I'm sorry, unmarried women - want it.
Will Ronald McDonald please turn out the lights when he leaves?
Environmentalists have a different idea of how you should celebrate Valentine's day with your sweetie ... while still saving the planet. Waste Awareness Wales (not "whales") is urging couples to "enjoy a greener romance." The group is promoting e-cards instead of traditional Valentine's cards in order to reduce the waste caused by 13 million cards that are bought in Britain each year. Couples are also urged to make your own cards from left-over wrapping paper, if your sweetheart doesn't find the idea of an online "I love you" too romantic. Other advice includes buying flowers in pots instead of cut ones. And if you are buying chocolates, buy the ones with the least amount of packaging. But the best gift of all would be one that involves "waste-free" gifts like theater tickers. But it doesn't stop there. If you are going to cook a meal for your loved one, make sure that you check the quantities of food that your recipe requires so that you do not waste any food. If you have any peelings, make sure they are made into compost. And when you thought it couldn't get any worse, it turns out that this Waste Awareness Wales campaign is funded by tax payer dollars. That's right. The Welsh Assembly fund has wasted who knows how much money promoting OwlGore's idea of a romantic and green Valentine's day. Me? I'm going to borrow a friend's Decathlon with a smoke generator and write a love letter to my wife in the sky over Atlanta. Just think of all that smoke in the atmosphere just for my wife's Valentine's Day! AND NOW FOR A SERIES OF MUSLIM OUTRAGES ...
Private Muslim schools in Great Britain have asked for special inspection privileges ... and the British government has complied. It is completely the government's fault for submitting to the sensitivities of Islam. Even though Muslim schools are known to be promoting religious segregation and are not preparing students for life in modern Britain, these schools will now be getting a pass. Under current legislation, almost all government and private schools are inspected by Osted, which is a government standards watchdog. An association applied to have the government set up a separate inspector for some private faith schools. And the government caved. This new, independent watchdog is set up to be more "sensitive" toward Islamic education. Religious leaders defend the move, saying that the curriculum and religious traditions of the schools demand specialist knowledge.
The new policy is that all doctors must "bare below the elbow" but in some extreme cases, female Muslims are refusing to "scrub" because this exposes their forearms. Some students are saying that they would prefer to quit than to expose their arms. Fine. Let them go. What patient in their right mind would want a doctor who refused to scrub themselves after surgery because it was against their religion. In the meantime, their stupidity could be spreading deadly viruses and bugs to other patients.
Terrorists living in Great Britain are getting paid by the government to live there ... thanks to the wonderful world of entitlement benefits. Mohammed Nawaz Raja is funding terrorists who are killing troops in Afghanistan, while living a comfortable life in Great Britain thanks to his government benefits. Nawaz goes door-to-door raising thousands of British pounds for his "charity," which he says is a religious school. Instead, the money is used to buy weapons for the Taliban. He claims to have sent the Taliban hundreds of thousands of pounds. As if that wasn't bad enough, Nawaz owns a five-bedroom house worth $700,000. But he pockets $500 per week in government handouts. He says, "I'm a British national. The government pays me to live." Are you outraged yet, folks?
And speaking of handouts ... husbands with multiple wives (read: Muslims) will now be able to claim extra welfare benefits from the government. Bigamy is a crime in Britain, but this decisions means that marriages will now be recognized formally by the state, as long as the weddings took place in countries were it is legal. The income to support all of these wives will be paid directly into the husband's bank account. The husband may also be eligible for additional housing benefits and council tax benefits because of the larger property that is needed for all of his wives. The government has failed to identify how much more money this is going to cost the taxpayers of England. Can't remember the survey ... I just heard it in passing while I was sitting in my office this weekend. Hillary Clinton has been voted in some poll to be the president who would be most likely to embarrass the United States, and as the candidate who would most likely to do anything she has to do to win the presidency. Right on both counts.
The truth hurts .. and it seems to hurt those suffering from OCCD (Obsessive Compulsive Compassionate Disorder) much harder than normal folks. I'm pleased to report, my friends, that not only did I get the Media Morons panties in a wad last week, but ditto of another group of myrmidons out there with a website called "thinkprogress", whatever in the hell that means. And just how did I rattle their cages? I said what others know to be true about New Orleans and Katrina, but just can't bring themselves to say: I sand that, by and large, the people who were left floundering around in the post-Katrina flood waters looking or someone to come to their rescue were parasites and leeches who were so accustomed to a life of government dependency that they couldn't even take some tiny baby steps to get themselves out of harms way as the storm approached. This is exactly the way government .. and big government liberals .. want it. The less people are self-reliant - the more they are dependent on government and politicians - the stronger those politicians are. Would you like to see some of the wonderful things that were said about sweet, kind little old me on these websites? My thoughts in italics follow:
Enough fun. Needless to say, I'm not backing down from my position. The facts are on my side. Anthropologists will tell you that in any culture you are likely to have about 10% of the population that will only do what they absolutely have to do to survive. Nothing more. New Orleans, it seems, had more than their share. I made it very clear last week when I made my statements about Katrina refuse that I was not talking about all Katrina refugees. Media Morons and Thinkprogress aren't bright enough to pick up that nuance.
These people don't eat unless someone else works to feed them. They don't have shelter unless someone else works to house them. They are naked unless someone else sacrifices to clothe them. They live lives of dependency. Self-reliance is a concept as foreign to them as space travel. The anecdotal evidence is overwhelming. Look around the country at the cities and towns where the New Orleans refuse was dumped. Within days they New Orleans street gangs were trying to take over Houston, Texas high schools. Church congregations around the country provided housing to New Orleans refugees, only to find their properties trashed and destroyed when the refugees finally left. The parasite destroying the host. Crime rates in cities with refugee populations soared. More than two years after Katrina many of these leeches were still firmly attached to the hotel rooms and apartments in which they were offered "temporary" refuge. Perhaps the most telling anecdote was that of the luxury cruise ship in Mobile harbor. FEMA chartered the ship to house Katrina refuse. Here these people had everything ... everything a cruise ship passenger would pay thousands of dollars a week for. Three meals a day in the ship's restaurants. Movies. Recreation. You name it. Everything but St. Thomas. And what did they do? They started fighting and stealing from one another. That cruise ship became the center of criminal activity for Mobile, Alabama for several weeks. Parasites and leeches. Truth hurts, doesn't it? REDNECK SCRAP BOOK You may be a redneck pilot if.... More in the Redneck Scrap Book. READING ASSIGNMENTS
I did it! I finally said something so insensitive that Media Matters gave me the credit I deserve. Apparently we don't see eye to eye on Katrina victims. <p>MoveOn.org has left the Clinton camp and endorsed Barack Obama.Hispanics in California have made their decisions ... its Barack Obama and John McCain. The question is, how many of them can legally vote? Mitt Romney won the Republican caucuses in Maine. Has Barack Obama made himself the leader of the Reagan Democrats? Who do other countries around the world want to win the US presidential race? In the wake of protests against an army recruitment center in Berkeley, Senator Jim DeMint of South Carolina says the city no longer deserves federal money. Tony Blair has set his sight on bigger goals. He wants to be the next President of Europe ... if they'll give him the power. Al Queda has sunk to a new low (if that was even possible) by using mentally retarded women to carry out suicide bombing missions. Could this be some good news from Turkey. Hundreds of thousands are protesting the government's decision to overturn a ban on head scarves in government universities. A Muslim leader in France wants a moratorium on the French law separating church and state because there are not enough mosques being built in France. A German man was about to be mugged by a Moroccan immigrant. So what does the German man do? Take out a pocket knife and stab the mugger. Now Moroccan immigrants are taking to the streets crying this was an act of "racism." By the way ... the Moroccan would be a Muslim. The FDA is worried that an anti-smoking drug could cause suicidal thoughts. Get a load of this stunning government bureaucrat. The spokesman for the Department of Children and Families (this is in Florida) was arrested on child pornography charges. A rent-to-own furniture company has to pay $1.2 million because it used "thuggary and violence" to collect late charges from its customers. Now do you understand why I ask some callers how much rent-to-own furniture they have? The taxpayers of Los Angeles wasted $25,000 to have Britney Spears escorted from her home to the UCLA medical center for psychiatric treatment. Brides in the UK are having theirs bridesmaids sign contracts promising not to get fat or pregnant before the wedding. A beauty queen in North Carolina veered through three lanes of traffic just to block and intimidate another driver ... and that was just the beginning. She's, no doubt, a Hillary supporter. | ||||
