| Friday, February 8, 2008 FAIRTAX, THE TRUTH ... NO. 2 IN BUSINESS BOOKS! Not all that bad! The St. Louis Post-Dispatch is reporting that "FairTax, The Truth, Answering the Critics" is No. 2 on the list of Top 10 business books. Amazon.com has us listed as No. 1 in Business Books! Good news, considering the fact that the book doesn't even debut until Tuesday! Help us get the message out about this much-needed tax reform proposal! Click here to order now from Amazon.com. You should have your copy by mid-week!
But .. McCain is the guy. He's going to be the nominee unless something really bizarre happens. If you don't support his candidacy .. if you sit out the election .. just how much influence do you think you are going to have during his presidency? That is ...if your actions don't put Hideous Hillary in office.
McCain is going to be looking for votes and support. He's going to be looking about to see what the American voters are interested in ... where their minds are. He already knows the FairTax is on your minds. But does he think the interest is fading? One sure way to get the message across to him would be for the new book "FairTax, The Truth: Answering the Critics" to debut way up there on the New York Times bestseller's list. The book goes on sale next Tuesday. I have book signings - two of them - in Atlanta next week. Others are being scheduled. But the first week here is the important one. The debut position of FairTax, The Truth depends entirely on how many books are pre-ordered from places like Amazon.com and how many are sold from next Tuesday through the following Monday. If, for instance, the book debuts as No. 1 it will be a sure sign to the McCain campaign .. and to many congressional and senatorial campaigns as well, that the interest has not faded ... and that a book on taxes can still go to number one. Detractors will say that I'm just pushing this to make money. Most of you know that I haven't taken one cent from the sale of any FairTax book. The royalties on a book you can buy on Amazon.com for ten bucks aren't worth this push. I believe in the plan ... I want you to believe in it also. Buy the book, read it, and all of those objections you've heard to the FairTax idea will be answered. The book is No. 24 on Amazon.com this morning. You can click here to order your copy(S). Let's see if we can get it pushed up and start the ball rolling for the Tuesday debut. Here's your link to order. ... go to jail. That is according to one scientist, David Suzuki, who says that political leaders who ignore the science behind climate change should be thrown in jail. At a conference in Montreal, he said that politicians should be held legally accountable for ignoring the science. In fact, he goes as far to say that it is an "intergenerational crime." Now the back pedaling begins. A spokesman has now said that the call for imprisonment was not meant to be taken literally. Yeah, right. I think the same should be said about their incessant alarmism over global warming. Here's the exact quote. Dr. Suzuki said, "What I would challenge you to do is to put a lot of effort into trying to see whether there's a legal way of throwing our so-called leaders into jail because what they're doing is a criminal act." Remember ... look into this nonsense and you'll see that the whole global warming scam is all about weakening the American economy and assaulting free enterprise. Hopefully you will remember an article I mentioned on the air earlier this week. The newspaper article contained all sorts of dire global warming predictions .. and then carried a quote from a University professor. An assistant MUSIC professor. Yeah ... let's take that seriously.
Wedding anniversary, I mean. Just thinking, but wouldn't it be nice to have a separate day every year for people to celebrate sham marriages? Considering the important role this sham marriage is playing in our country today, it's the least we could do.
This is what Nancy Pelosi is doing with your tax dollars. In her "Green the Capitol" initiative, she has already transformed the Congressional cafeteria into an expensive, organic cafe. Her next move is to spend nearly $90,000 on carbon offsets. And I'm sure that is just the beginning. Last summer, Nancy decided that she wanted the tax payers to buy carbon
offsets to balance out the 24,000 tons of carbon emissions from House
operations. The offsets were purchased from the Chicago Climate Exchange, which
offsets carbon through investment in other U.S.-based environmentally friendly
projects. Isn't that sweet? Don't you feel better knowing that your tax money
is supporting these projects simply because the aging hollow-eyed hippie from
Haight-Ashbury decided to turn on the air conditioning last summer? Look, folks. This "Green" scheme of Nancy Pelosi's is nothing more than a feel-good excuse for power hungry politicians. And in case you haven't had enough news about government politicians "going green" ... the Muncie Sanitary District in Indiana will be sporting new uniforms come spring. The uniforms will be made from the same recycled soda bottles that they collect every week. The Indiana Department of Environmental Management gave the district a $5,000 grant to purchase 100% recycled jackets, T-shirts and polo shirts for 140 employees. The grant specialist for the district, Lina Gordy, says that this is just the latest effort to "go green." It will supposedly save the local government money that it typically spent on city employee uniforms. Other grants that have been awarded to this district include a $45,000 grant from the state to purchase 5,000 reusable grocery bags, and a $42,000 grant to purchase metal and concrete recycling bins for the campus of Ball State. Your tax money at work. Does it occur to you that these governments have too much money to spend? The Philippines has passed the third reading of a bill that will forbid the media from describing suspected terrorists as Muslims. In other words, it would be illegal to tell the truth. This bill is known as "An Act Prohibiting the Use of the Words 'Muslim' and 'Christian' in Mass Media to describe any Person Suspected of or Convicted for Having Committed Criminal or Unlawful Acts, and Providing Penalties for Violation Thereof." Boy is that a mouthful. It was, not surprisingly, introduced by a Muslim Congressman. That "Christian" word was thrown in there to appease the masses, I guess. Aren't you excited? This government is going to use its power to "end the stereotyping of Muslims as kidnappers, drug pushers and terrorists." Since when did it become the government's role to make it illegal to tell the truth? Well ... wait a minute. We do have McCain Feingold. Remember ... Not all Muslims are terrorists. But all terrorists seem to be Muslims. Quite a religion they have going on there.
Texas requires all students to study a second language when they are in elementary school and middle school. While most students choose to study Spanish, it seems like other languages aren't really an option for students ... at least not at Timberline Elementary School. Two questions. Do Hispanic immigrants take English as a second language? And how long will it be until Arabic is required as a second language option? REDNECK SCRAP BOOK This guy's protest sign might be more effective if he could spell. More in the Redneck Scrap Book. READING ASSIGNMENTS Did you know there was a Hillary Clinton perfume? Neither did we. The New York Times basically ignored the news that the Iranians were, in fact, proceeding with their nuclear ambitions ... but The Wall Street Journal did not. Peggy Noonan says that Barack Obama is now poised to beat Hillary Clinton. That would be something wonderful to watch. Mike Huckabee has no plans to drop out of the GOP race. It must be all of that evangelical support that is keeping him alive ... Speaking of Huckabee ... what are McCain's thoughts on the vice presidential sweeps? McCain may be the Republican front-runner, but Republican voter turnout could be a big deal come November. Mona Charen ... "Why They Can't Vote for McCain." Michael Barone explains how in the hell these candidates have gotten to where they are in the presidential race. Hillary and Obama are taking jabs at each other's healthcare plans ... they are arguing about which plan will use more government coercion. In the wonderful world of big-government Democrats, the move government uses force to compel citizens to comply with Democrat dreams, the better. Here's an interesting article that describes how the media's focus on "group identity" is tearing our country apart, using the same tactics as Marxists professors of the early 20th century. Now what have I been saying for so long about the war on individualism? Berekley, California was going to lose its federal funding, until the mayor, all of the sudden, decided to apologize for the treatment of the Marine recruitment center. What kind of taxes will politicians think of next? In New York, Eliot Spitzer wants to label flavored alcohol as liquor so that it can be taxed at a higher rate. Tobacco could kill 1 billion people in the 21st century "unless governments act now to dramatically reduce it," according to the World Health Organization. Maybe so, but most of those 1 billion people will be fools and idiots. What's the loss? A lawmaker in Colorado Springs is trying to explain why he called unmarried pregnant teens, "sluts." Is it really that hard to understand? A party in the Netherlands wants to ban burqas not only in all public places, but also at home. I know that you all are just waiting at the edge of your seats to see how FEMA is going to respond to the aftermath of the tornadoes in the South. A man was arrested for growing marijuana in his home after a county worker smelled marijuana on his tax payment. As noticed above .. and in case you don't actually read the notes ... The global warming cult marches on. This moonbat scientist wants to jail politicians who "ignore" global warming. | ||
