FAIRTAX, THE TRUTH ... COMING TOMORROW

Yes, I know I dwell on this a lot in the Nuze. Web Guy tells me that I get emails every day telling me that I'm just in this for the money. You know, there is just no way in the world you're going to escape those types of criticisms. So I don't let them slow me down a bit. Trust me, if I was going to write another book for the money it wouldn't be on taxes and it wouldn't be coming out in a trade paperback format that you can buy for under 10 bucks.

Anyway ....

A lot has happened since we shocked the DC establishment with the FairTax book in 2005. Books on taxes just flat-out don't debut No. 1. The FairTax Book did. Since that time it has been virtually impossible for any Congressman or Senator to show up at a town hall meeting without having to field questions on the FairTax.

Over the past three years I've been buried under stacks of letters from these elected officials .. letters sent to constituents in response to queries about the FairTax. To put it in polite language ... I've never seen such a collection of unadulterated bullshit in my entire life. That, my friends, is why Congressman Linder and I wrote FairTax, The Truth.

Some have asked if this new book explains the FairTax in detail. I'll give that a qualified yes. You don't, however, get the benefit of the complete story behind the FairTax and our current tax system. More importantly, I think, is the fact that FairTax, The Truth responds to the misinformation, confusion and outright lies that have been spread throughout the media relating to the FairTax:

• The FairTax does not increase the price of everything you buy by 30%
• The FairTax does not put an increased burden on the poor. It literally "untaxes" them.
• The FairTax does not destroy the middle class.
• Scientologists had nothing to do with it.
• What is the truth behind the "you get to keep your whole paycheck" concept
• Retired Americans living on their investments and savings are not "double taxed" by the FairTax.
• The FairTax rate will not have to be 40, 50 or 60 percent.
• The FairTax will not "destroy" our economy, no more than nutritious food would damage a starving child.

We've been listening for a couple of weeks now about some sort of a grand economic stimulus plan from our keepers in Washington. They're idea of economic stimulus is to put about $600 or so in the hands of millions of carefully selected Americans ... .selected on the basis of vote-buying. It's a joke, my friends. All these politicians have been doing is trying to target some specific voters out there with a little walking-around money in order to get their support in November.

• You want economic stimulus? Great .. I'll give you some economic stimulus. How about making the United States the number one tax haven for business in the entire world?
• How about freeing up anywhere from $300 to $500 that is spent by Americans and businesses to comply with our current tax code?
• How about bringing some of that $13 trillion - that's with a "t" - that has been working overseas to escape our punishing tax system, bringing that money back home to work here, in our economy.
• Instead of giving some households a $600 goodie just this once, how about giving every legal household in this country hundreds of dollars every month to offset the taxes on their basic necessities.
• How about totally removing the tax component from all capital and labor in this country.
• How about letting people invest with untaxed dollars, and then not taxing the profits from those investments?

To paraphrase Crocodile Dundee ... "Economic stimulus? That's not economic stimulus. This is economic stimulus."

Come on, folks ... we can DO this. It is clear that the politicians have to be drug into this kicking and screaming ... as does anyone who thinks that America is great because of government. You have to remember ... you're still running the show out there. Every single one of those congressmen out there is up for reelection this year ... and your vote counts just as much as the next voters.

This election year is showing all of us just how elected officials like to manipulate the tax code in order to favor their constituents and punish those who don't vote for them. For months now we've been hearing calls for more taxes on the rich, more rebates for the poor, and a variety of ideas as to how to use the tax code to change people's behavior. This has to stop.

Many historians have written that this country will be doomed to destruction once a good segment of the voters figure out that they can use their ballots on election day to reach into the pockets of those who have more money, and grab some for themselves. The FairTax will make people keep their hands in their own pockets, not yours.

Don't you just love the idea of watching the moving vans pull up to those law offices on K Street after the FairTax is implemented? All those thousands of lawyer-lobbyists packing their gear to move off to greener pastures somewhere else ... weeping at the loss of their six-figure incomes earned by manipulating the current tax system for the benefit of their clients.

We can do it. We can drag these politicians kicking and screaming to the FairTax. We can make them willing - though reluctantly - participants in the greatest transfer of power from the government to the people since our Constitution was ratified. We can do it with our emails, our letters, our confrontations at town hall meetings, our persistence and our votes. This country is too precious to do anything else.

AGAIN WITH THE TEARS

Are you all getting tired of this yet? This is just the campaign, folks ... imagine once she gets into the White House.

Hillary teared up again this past weekend at a campaign stop in Maine (which she lost). She wiped her eyes as she listened to a disabled veteran tell his story. Something tells me she was crying because she knew she wasn't going to win the state, or any states, this weekend. Or maybe there was a TV monitor close by. I'm wondering if that veteran was a plant. Nooooo. She wouldn't do anything like that, would she?

Never forget ... this woman holds our military in complete contempt.

HILLARY THE 'PIMP'

I wouldn't make it one day on television before getting pulled off the air ... particularly with Hillary Clinton in the picture. David Shuster is a TV news anchor on NBC. He has now been suspended for saying exactly what I have been saying all along: Hillary uses her daughter, Chelsea, as a campaign tool. I've even gone so far as to wonder - out loud - whether or not Hillary's decision to even have a child was based more on political expediency than her urge to be a mother. Now David Shuster decided to say it another way. He said that the Clinton family had "pimped out" Chelsea in its campaign for Hillary's presidential nomination.

OK .. maybe that wouldn't have been my choice of words. But Hillary's communications director called the comment "beneath contempt." It is beneath contempt to essentially speak the truth. So Shuster apologized to the Clintons. Not going to make much of a difference ... once you get on the wrong side of the Clintons, no doubt this is the beginning of the end of his TV career.

Hey, Shuster! Make sure your tax records are in order.

PELOSI USED THE "F" WORD

Nancy Pelosi took time from her busy schedule of turning the Capitol "green" to deliver this delightful message: Iraq is a "failure" and President Bush's troop surge has "not produced the desired effect."

Well .. you know what! She's right! The surge didn't produce the effect that Nancy desired ... and that was total failure and chaos! Democrats did not want the surge to succeed. They've been invested in failure since the get-go. Failure was the "desired effect" for MoveOn Democrats ... so taking the aging hollow-eyed hippie from Haight-Ashbury literally ... she's right.

Well then I wonder what Nancy has to say about this. The US military just released the contents of a 39-page letter they seized during an al Qaeda raid. This letter was written by one of al Qaeda's leaders in the Anwar province. It said that al Qaeda forces in Iraq face an "extraordinary crisis." Last year's mass defection of Sunnis from al Qaeda to the US military "created panic, fear and the unwillingness to fight." The terrorist group's security structure suffered "total collapse."

Where is Nancy's statement on that letter? There won't be one, because it doesn't fit into her Democrat agenda.

I HOPE THIS MAYOR IS UP FOR RE-ELECTION

The mayor of Toledo, Ohio told a company of Marine Corps Reservists to leave his town because their training may frighten people. We don't want to scare the children ... people shouldn't be exposed to the military, they might be scared ... people might see them.

It looks like Mayor Carty Finkbeiner is no stranger to power trips.

The buses of the Marines were arriving for a three-day training mission in the city. They have trained their periodically since 2004. The 200 Marines had planned to participate in urban patrol exercises in downtown streets and vacant buildings. They would have mock gun fights, ambushes and fire blank ammunition to stimulate urban combat. But the mayor is suddenly afraid that the people may be frightened. He didn't want them practicing in a highly visible area.

Thanks for your support of our troops and our war against Islamic extremism, Mr. Mayor.

VALENTINE'S DAY BAN

Two Muslim MPs in Kuwait have called on the government to ban Valentine's Day. They say that Valentine's Day is alien to their society and contradicts Muslim religious values and teachings. It spreads "immorality" among youth in Kuwait. The MPs say that they will take action against the authorities if they do not ban the Valentine's Day celebrations.

They must not have been getting any cards.

Say ... I wonder if there even are any Muslim Valentine cards?

TEACHERS UNIONS ... IN PAKISTAN

I've said for years that the most dangerous issue that we face in this country is our government school education, which is often run by teachers unions. Our other great threat is that of Islamic radicalism. Well how about we combine the two.

The Pakistan Teachers Organization says that it will not accept the inclusion of achievements and contributions of non-Muslims in the syllabi for schools and colleges. A Pakistani newspaper quoted the president of the Teachers Organization, Professor Muhammad Is'haq, saying that textbooks are meant for educational and thought leadership of students. Thought leadership? Therefore, the syllabi should be re-modeled to follow Islamic norms "to bring out the Islamic ideological persona." Professor Is'haq believes that international imperialism has taken the world of Islam hostage. He also believes that Pakistan's syllabi are being distorted in the name of progressive thought.

Hillary Clinton's campaign manager has jumped ship. Or was she fired?

Here's what happened this weekend in a few primaries scattered throughout the country. Huckabee won two more states, and Obama swept Hillary.

Nobel prize winner Doris Lessing says that Obama would be assassinated if he becomes president. So that's why people should support Hillary??? By the way ... what a stupid thing to say.

Hugo Chavez has threatened to cut off oil sales to the US if Exxon Mobil Corp. wins in the courts to seize billions of dollars in Venezuelan assets. Hugo calls this an "economic war."

Just in case you were not aware, the ACLU says that you are entitled to a driver's license.

British athletes competing at the Beijing Olympics are forced to sign a contract promising not to speak about China's human rights record. If they don't sign the contract, they will be banned from traveling to Beijing.

The British have launched a new scheme called "dial-a-bobby." It allows people to email or call local police directly.

In the UK they are using those high-pitched mosquito alarms to disperse of teenage gangs. Now the government is challenging the use of the alarm saying it "infringes their human rights" and penalizes innocent children.

The courts have decided that you have to be polite to blind people under the Americans with Disabilities Act. No more "Hey, you! Watch where the hell you're going!"

Parents in Great Britain are upset because a 12-year-old boy who was trained to be a suicide bomber is being allowed to attend a British government school.

The Iranian parliament may decide to mandate the death penalty for citizens who leave Islam. It was already illegal, but now the death penalty will be your only choice of punishment.

About 17,000 women in Great Britain are the subjects of "honor" related violence. I'll give you one guess as to why. But when you read this article, notice how many times you find the word Islam ...

It looks like in Canada, the government is already giving extra welfare payments to Muslim men with multiple wives.

Imagine the headache this woman has been through ... because she neglected the upkeep of her lawn.
