| Tuesday, January 22, 2008 The article? Well, Hillary Clinton is saying that when she is president, the federal government will take a more active role in the economy. She wants government to get involved because she believes this is the only way to curb the "excesses of the market." Excesses, huh? What excesses would she be talking about. No problem .. she's all to willing to share that with us. Excess number one would be executive-pay packages. She says that these executive pay packages are offensive and wrong. Wrong? What's the criteria that this woman-who-wants-to-be-president uses to say that these executive pay packages are wrong? In the case of privately owned businesses the executive pay packages are determined by the owners of the business. In the case of a corporation the board of directors, elected by the shareholders, makes that determination. Then here comes Hillary to say that these pay packages are wrong? Would someone please tell me what role our government should have in determining just how much a private business should be able to pay its executives? Here's a little wager for you. If Hillary (God help us) manages to convince enough single women in this country to vote for her that she actually becomes president; and if she then starts working on some sort of government intervention scheme to make sure executives don't make what she determines to be a "wrong" salary, she will totally ignore the sums raked in by Hollywood stars and pro athletes. Remember .. to leftist anti-capitalists like Hillary Rodham acquiring wealth is just a matter of luck. There are the "fortunate" and the "less fortunate." She doesn't recognize any true value an executive might have to his or her company or the stockholders. She only sees someone who was lucky to find such a nice job and who needs to be brought down a peg or two. Hillary's second market "excess?" She also feels that the tax code has become "so far out of whack" in favoring the evil rich. These excesses are holding down middle-class living standards, according to Hillary. In other words, if a high-achiever makes more money, that implicitly means that some poor person out there is making less money. That is the economic mind of a liberal. Liberals see one economic pie that doesn't expand. If someone takes a larger slice, than that means that someone else has to take a smaller one. Baking a bigger pie so everyone can have more? Out of the question. Her first priority as president would be to change the tax code. She wants tax credits for college tuition, retirement savings, healthcare and alternative energy use - and these credits are only to go to lower and middle-income families. As for the evil rich, she would raise the marginal rate to 39.6%, which will bring in an extra $52 billion to help pay for her hand outs to poorer people. This, of course, is income redistribution. She complains that the middle class is stalled and inequality is growing. Guess what, the middle class is getting smaller because more and more people are moving to upper income brackets. Oh ... and by the way. That 39.6% income tax bracket for the evil achievers? Well, if you quote that tax rate on the same basis that the FairTax detractors love to quote the 23% FairTax rate Hillary would be proposing a 65.6% income tax. But who's counting. Even the New York Times points out that she is much more skeptical than Bill of free trade and free-market economy. She talks less about irresponsibility among individuals and blames everything on the irresponsibility in corporate America. That's because in the eyes of Hillary Clinton there is no problem that can't be fixed by government. If she thinks corporate America is greedy, then it is her job as president to use the government to fix that. This is the future of America, folks. Wake up. These aren't just sound bites played on the TV ... these socialist, anti-individualist policies are her deepest held beliefs. And sadly, the average voter - these single women, the less educated, the poor - are too ignorant (thanks to government schools) to understand.
Oh, you betcha! Yeah! Just what do you think would happen to a government high school teacher who delivered a lecture telling the students that the evil top 1% of income earners in this country - the ones the Democrats just love to demonize - actually earn about 17% of all income, but pay nearly 40% of all income taxes. Can't you hear the howls of protest now? Despite what Hillary may want you to believe ... and what most voters will believe to be true ... a recent report shows that the tax burden on the wealthy has increased more than their incomes. The National Center for Policy Analysis says that Bush tax cuts actually made the tax code more progressive. It concludes that every major tax change over the past two decades has increased the share of taxes paid by the wealthiest Americans (AKA the evil rich). Michael D. Stroup, a Stephen F. Austin University economist who authored the NCPA report says, "It is politically popular to say that tax cuts benefit the wealthy ... The accusation does not match the reality." Now if you are a regular reader of Nealz Nuze, you've read statistics similar to these already. But how about a little refresher, just for the sake of angering Hillary Clinton.
If you bring the figures forward from 2004 you'll find that the total income share of the top 1% has fallen somewhat, while the percentage of taxes they pay has risen. Hillary knows the truth here. She also knows two other things: (1) About 99% of Americans have no awareness at all of these figures; and (2) The leftist media isn't about to rat her out on this. So she continues to lie, and it continues to work.
Not one single donation from a member of the Princeton faculty to a Republican. Nada. Nunca. Now there was one Republican who received a donation from a Princeton graduate student. Any guesses as to which candidate that would be? Yep, none other than Ron Paul. But overall in the race, Obama has received $2.1 million from academia alone. Shaping the minds of young Americans, one socialist at a time. The mad mullah Mahmoud Ahmadinejad has called on the Muslim community to promote the Jihad culture against global hegemony. Read: America. He said this during a meeting with an Algerian Minister where the two countries promised to materialize their revolutionary goals through resistance and economic ties. Makes you feel a lot safer, doesn't it? Makes you want to appease Muslim extremists, doesn't it? See how this story makes you feel: A Dutch politician has produced a film about Islam that is said to be "offensive" to Muslims. Iran is now warning the Netherlands that if this "anti-Islam" move is shown, they will face widespread protests. The head of Iran's National Security and Foreign Policy Commission says that Iran will react to any insult to Islam. Iran expects The Hague to ban the movie ... stifle free speech ... submit to Muslim pressure ... remain uncritical of the peaceful, serene religion of Islam. If not, Iran says it will reconsider its relations with the Netherlands. Maybe the Netherlands should reconsider its relations with Iran, seeing as it is promoting Jihad against global powers. But we can't do that because that would anti-Islamic, wouldn't it? Just sick. REDNECK SCRAP BOOK Any redneck'll say you don't need snow or water to go skiing. More in the Redneck Scrap Book. READING ASSIGNMENTS Rudy Giuliani isn't even winning his own state of New York. He is currently trailing John McCain in the polls. Hillary is accusing Obama of violating party rules because he paid for cable TV ads that reach Florida homes. Oh that Hillary! Always standing up for freedom of expression, isn't she? Here's some not so surprising news. Cubans agree that Fidel Castro won Sunday's parliamentary election, but they won't officially know until February. Would you like to read something completely off the wall? Well, try this column from Michael Medved. He says that talk radio was the big loser in South Carolina. And why would that be? Because some talk show hosts didn't back the candidates supported by Medved. Take a look at what "multiculturalism" has done for London and its Muslim population. Remember, you have no identity as an individual. Your entire identity is locked within your particular ethnic group. Welcome to multiculturalism. CNN is battling the important questions. What in the world are black women voters supposed to do in this election? The taxpayers of Sweden will pay $600,000 so the Swedish university can research the greenhouse gases released when cows belch. Here's some good news. Michigan will no longer allow illegal immigrants to get drivers licenses. The question is why were they allowed to have them in the first place? Saudi Arabia is really stepping up ... women can now stay in a hotel or a furnished apartment without a male guardian. Isn't that nice of the government to allow the women these privileges? The Florida Bankers Association wants to institute a "No Hats, No Hoods, No Sunglasses" program to prevent bank robberies. How in the hell will rappers ever be able to cash checks? A tree grows in ... a Detroit government school book depository? Your tax dollars hard at work, ladies and gentlemen. And now for some non-government education ... The bitter homeschooler's wish list. | ||
