| Thursday, January 24, 2008 Neal is off skiing today and tomorrow. Thursday you'll get a "Best of Boortz" and Friday Herman Cain will be in the studio live taking your calls 10am-1pm ET. READING ASSIGNMENTS This one goes in the category of "you've got to be kidding me." In Great Britain, a story based on the Three Little Pigs was going to be honored at a government agency's annual awards, but it was turned down because the subject matter could offend Muslims. Barack Obama has a challenge far greater than maybe he realized ... he has to campaign against two Clintons. Dick Morris says that Hillary will lose South Carolina, and this will be the reason she wins the nomination. Duncan Hunter has thrown his support to Mike Huckabee for president. Hunter is also a co-sponsor of H.R. 25 (the FairTax Act). One of the biggest differences between Democrats and Republicans seems to be healthcare. Half as many Republicans, compared to Democrats, want to expand health insurance coverage for the uninsured. In other words, why should taxpayers have to pay for those who choose cell phones over healthcare? The Dutch government is going to impose a ban on Muslim burqas in schools and government offices. The resurrection of the S-CHIP bill failed yet again yesterday as Democrats failed to get enough votes to override President Bush's veto. This is another one of those "environmental impact" stories. Wildlife advocates are suing the federal government for killing cougars so it could conduct a study. How much taxpayer money will we waste in the process? Geert Wilders is the Dutch politician who produced this so-called "blasphemous" film on the Koran. Now the National Coordinator for Anti-terrorism has advised Wilders that it might be a good idea for him to disappear from the Netherlands for a while after the film is released. Here's an interesting look at how African Americans view illegal immigrants coming to America and changing their neighborhoods. The government school system here in Georgia is so pathetic that we actually have to pay kids to get a government education. Although, this story does show what private individuals and charities are willing to do to help their communities. It isn't always government to the rescue. Central Florida is going to start using digital billboards to display the faces of Orlando's most notorious fugitives. Do you have an ashtray in your car? Chances are you probably don't, if it is a newer car. Gotta love making life more difficult for smokers. What's this ... life on Mars? Where's our buddy Dennis Kucinich? Maybe he can help us with this one. | ||
