| Tuesday, July 1, 2008 In just the past week Barack Obama has changed his mind on several key issues. We just thought you might want to keep score.
"Change we can believe in" turns out to be "I believe I'm going to change my mind."
Well .. there's a new children's book out that may be just as nauseating as "The Rainbow Fish." This one is entitled "Yes We Can" by one Garen Thomas. The sub-title? "The Story of Barack Obama." Meghan Cox Gurdon reviewed the book in a short piece for The Wall Street Journal last week. She called the book a "hagiography." Go ahead ... look it up. Well, actually, I've done it for you. The definition would be ".. the writing and critical study of the lives of the saints." Since Obama is The Messiah, that would be fitting. Gurdon gives us some particularly sickening excerpts from "Yes We Can." Try this: Author Thomas writes "There has emerged a new leader who seems to be granting Americans a renewed license to dream." Well .. I bet you didn't realize that, did you? Thanks to Obama you are now free to dream again? Apparently your license had been revoked. Who knew? Thomas also writes that Obama "Reminded Americans that what was keeping everyone down was the fact that workers were losing their jobs to people in other countries, because American businesses wanted to pay less for labor. In addition, people running the businesses were in the habit of paying themselves a lot, while leaving ordinary Americans behind, scraping to get by." Later in this children's book the author writes "All Americans were struggling and worried about their financial futures." Pretty strong stuff, don't you think? This wonderful children's book about The Messiah tells us that it is the evil American businessmen that are keeping everyone down ... all because they want to pay themselves a lot and leave ordinary Americans scraping to get by. What do we have here? Nothing less than an anti-capitalist screed written by some fawning Obama supporter for our children. Yeah .. this guy just really needs to be our next president. Actually .. .it's probably a good idea to write a children's book about Obama. That way the majority of the people slobbering over him can have a book to read.
What do we have here? Pure and simple income redistribution. Par for the course for the MoveOn Democrat party ... after all, they firmly believe that income isn't earned in the first place .. .it's just distributed on the basis of luck. We all know, of course, that the conventional media wisdom is that comments that come from political commentators on the right are "hate speech" and "right wing propaganda," while comments that come from political activists on the left are merely expressions of heartfelt beliefs formed in the context of a true love for America and all mankind. That being said, you might find it interesting that some Obama supporters out there are now accusing John McCain of war crimes. Yeah .. war crimes, a favorite of the peace-at-any price leftists. And McCain's particular war crime? Well, he bombed targets in Hanoi during the Vietnam war. Don't ever forget that the left, by and large, holds our military and those who serve in uniform in contempt. To some of these radicals any action taken by an American soldier in wartime constitutes a war crime, while any action taken by the enemy is merely a valiant attempt to ward off American imperialism and defend one's way of life.
Gallup recently ran a poll (it's what they do) to find out where Americans stand on government ... do you we have too much of it? The truth here is that government stands on Americans .. not the other way around. Anyways .....One of the questions asked was, "Which approach should government focus on to fix the economy?" A full 84% of adults believe that the government needs to take steps to improve overall economic conditions and job situations. If you figure out just what that means, let me know.. But 13% of adults in this country believe that the government should take steps to distribute wealth more evenly among Americans. Come on now ... only 13%? I'm thinking the number has to be higher than that. After all, this is pretty much the entire premise of the Barack Obama campaign ... wealth redistribution. Punish the evil rich so that the "less fortunate" can have their "fair share." Maybe this other question will give us a more accurate reading. "Some people think the government is trying to do too many things that should be left up to individuals and businesses. Others think that the government should do more to solve our country's problems. Which comes closer to your own view?" Now in this case, 50% of adults believe that government is doing too much. That leaves 43% of American adults who want a government that will solve their problems. That sounds more like the Barack Obama supporters I know ... after all, didn't he say that the people want a president who can solve their problems? This is what I mean about the American Idol election, folks. This election is being driven by teenagers who are changing their middle names to Hussein, by volunteers who hang Che Guevara posters on their walls, and by those 43% of people who expect the government to solve our problems. So how would Boortz listeners answer these polls? Let's find out! It's really sad when Americans are crossing the border to get cheaper gas in Mexico. What's even more sad is that Mexicans are upset by the situation, and it some cases, gas stations in Mexico are apparently refusing to sell to Americans. You've got to be pretty desperate if you are willing to brave the violent gangs along the border just to save at the pump. Question: Where in the hell are these Mexican gas stations getting workers? Aren't they all north of the border? A recent Op-Ed in the New York Times by Geoffrey Stone suggests that the next American president must create a new executive branch position: an advisor on civil liberties. Yep. We need another government bureaucrat who will be in charge of defending our civil liberties "against all comers." Say ... isn't that what our courts are for? READING ASSIGNMENTS
We can all rest easy now ... Bill Clinton and Barack Obama have spoken. Oh no! Is a Barack Obama presidency going to threaten your chance to benefit from affirmative action? Dick Morris explores the idea of another woman having a successful presidential run after Hillary's failure. Well ... if we were to find a woman who isn't a lying crook it might work. How much will you get paid to work for the Obama campaign? Apparently less ... if you are a woman. Who's at the top of McCain's short list for VP? Right now it looks like Mitt Romney. A delegate pledged to Hillary Clinton may not be allowed to attend the Democrat National Convention because she once said she would vote for John McCain if Hillary wasn't the nominee. Recently polling shows that Canadians would rather have Barack Obama as their leader than any of their own political leaders. Good ... pack his tail off to Canada. They can have him. Since when is it the government's job to tell companies where to invest their money and research? Because that is exactly what we are doing with the evil oil companies. Glad to see people are standing up to Zimbabwe's goon Robert Mugabe ... or not. We've been telling you about this growing, politically correct trend for a while ... words like "drunk" or rape" or "victim" can't be used in criminal trials. Somebody please tell me what is wrong with this statement: "The United States is uniquely unforgiving in denying ex-offenders the right to vote." That's from the New York Times Editorial board, by the way. People in North Dakota are becoming millionaires because they are discovering oil in their backyards. I know what your local government needs to spend your tax dollars on ... a $9,000 grill. Two airlines decided that a 5-year-old girl suffering from a rare, potentially fatal disease was "too sick" to travel to China for stem-cell treatments. NIMBY alert in Brooklyn, New York ... those pesky noisy jets. What would GBR be? That would be "Ghetto Bragging Rights." Today's moment of strange: Leonard Nimoy singing Joni Mitchell's Both Sides Now. This guy took his sexy girly tattoo a bit too far. Wow, Ahmadinejad's wife is a real babe! Today's Muslim Outrage: offensive police department post card. Would a pig have been more or less offensive? | ||
