JESSE "THE SLOGANMASTER" JACKSON

You have to be loving this one. There's Jessie sitting in front of a microphone in Chicago .. waiting to go on the air .. and the mic is live. Suddenly Jesse feels the urge to tell the guy sitting next to him that he wants to cut Barack Obama's nuts off. Apparently Jesse is upset because Barack is "talking down to black people."

Now first of all, wasn't Jesse the one who started this hyphenated-Americanism thing with the insistence that blacks be called African-Americans? Shouldn't that have been "talking down to African Americans?"

Well .. what is Jesse doing now? Apologizing, of course, and trying to make us believe that what he actually said - or meant - was that it is black people, not Jesse, who want to castrate Barack.

Don't you know this whole Obamaphenomenon is driving Jackson nuts? He just has to bee thinking "If this country wants to elect a black president, then b all rights it should be me. I'm the civil rights hero here. I was marching while this dude was surfing. Sup wid dat?"

DO YOU STILL THINK THE RICH AREN'T PAYING ENOUGH?

In a few weeks, the IRS is going to release its latest data on who pays how much in taxes. But an article in the Wall Street Journal gives us a sneak peak on what we can expect. According to the Treasury Department, perhaps for the first time ever, the richest 1% of taxpayers will have paid more than 40% of the income tax burden. Do you remember when we had Dennis Kucinich on the Boortz Show  (audio) and I asked him what percentage of the tax burden do the top 1% of taxpayers pay? His answer was something like 15%. Not even close. I then asked him how much of total income the top 1% earned .. and he came back with the asinine figure of around 60%. In short (pun intended) he didn't have a clue. The actual answer was around 17.5%.

Again .. who are these people in the top tax bracket? Two-thirds of them are small business owners. Small business owners who provide 70% of existing jobs and 80% of all new jobs in our economy. These are the people Barack wants to nail with more taxes. Come on folks, liberal or conservative, black or white --- does this make any sense? Are you really going to go vote for someone just because he is the same color as you when it could well mean your job?

Do you get upset when I start talking about income redistribution? Get used to it. I think that income is earned. Democrats like Obama think that income is distributed. Obama's solution? Redistribution. The Tax Foundation reports that Obama's tax plan would transfer $131 billion from the top 1% of taxpayers - who are already paying 40% of the load - to all other taxpayers. Either you have to admit that this is wholly unfair, or admit that you are just plain flat envious of those who have accomplished more than you.

Do you want a peek behind the eyebrows of these evil people in the top 1%? Fine, here's what they're thinking. If Obama tries to raise their taxes - and that includes not renewing Bush's tax cuts - they are simply going to change their economic behavior. They are going to send some of their money into tax shelters, they're going to shift income to future years, they're going to reduce their workload and enjoy life a bit more. They will end up paying less, not more, in income taxes. Many of them will simply shift the burden of the higher taxes by passing the cost down the line --- down the line to the people who buy what they have to sell or who consume their services. Taxes, like that other stuff, roll downhill. You're going to see the cost of your next visit to the orthodontist or the next bill from your landscaping company go up ... and you'll never have a clue that you're actually paying for Obama's tax increases. Get smart folks. This is going to cost you a lot more than it will cost those nasty rich people you despise so much.

More figures? I know this is uncomfortable for those of you gunched up with wealth envy, but let's explore the top 50% of taxpayers. They will account for 97% of all federal income taxes. And when it comes to the bottom 50% ... those people that Barack Obama wants to transfer your money to ... they paid just 3%. When you get to the bottom 45% of income earners you reach the magic number of 0.0%.

What do you think now, Barack Obama? Are the evil rich still not paying their fair share, considering they are already shouldering 40% of the tax burden in this country? Economist Glenn Hubbard of Columbia University points out that in 1970, the highest tax rate was 70%. At that time, the top 1% of income earners shouldered 16.7% of the income tax burden. Now that the rate is at 35%, they shoulder about 40% of the burden.

But you Barack Obama supporters .... "Yeah, I am voting for Barack because he is going to tax the evil rich. They need to pay their fair share." .... The fact is that his Robin Hood scheme has proven that it won't work. But it sounds really good on the campaign trail, doesn't it?

OUR HARD WORKING CONGRESS

Taxpayers for Common Sense has really shed some light on the productivity of our 110th Congress. Don't worry though, I'm sure that your Representatives and Senators are the exception and have been working extremely hard to bring home the pork projects to your district ... it's just all the OTHER people in Congress that are the problem.

As of the July 4th holiday, this Congress has only passed 260 laws. That is the least amount of productivity in over three decades. And of these 260 laws that have been passed, 74 of them have been dedicated to the all important job of ...... naming post offices. The other 148 laws are considered "substantive." This term is used for far more important laws like requiring that the American flag be flown on Father's Day.

Now the Congress also passes what are known as non-binding resolutions. Taxpayers for Common Sense has highlighted some of its favorites:

1. Recognizing soil as an essential natural resource, and soils professionals as playing a critical role in managing our Nation's soil resources
    
2. Designating July 2007 as "National Watermelon Month"
    
3. Congratulating the men's volleyball team of the University of California, Irvine, for winning the 2007 NCAA Division I Men's Volleyball National Championship
    
4. Recognizing the 70th anniversary of the Idaho Potato Commission and designating May 2007 as "Idaho Potato Month"
    
5. Expressing support for designation of June 30 as "National Corvette Day".

When it comes to our presumptive presidential candidates ... they, too, are no exceptions. Barack Obama worked to pass a resolution to congratulation the Chicago White Sox for winning the World Series in 2005. And John McCain co-sponsored a resolution to congratulate the University of Arizona Wildcats for winning the 2007 NCAA Division I Softball Championship.

This is your government at work, ladies and gentlemen. And you wonder why nothing ever really seems to get done up in Washington. It seems like they are busy taking care of more important matters ... like honoring the birth of Jamie Lynn Spears' baby or something.

Then again --- maybe we're better off the less they do.

SPEAKING OF CELEBUTWITS ...

I'm sure that 95% of young adults in this country could have told you that Jamie Lynn Spears just had a baby. But ask them to explain the purpose of the Bill of Rights ... and you will probably get a lot of "likes" and blank stares. But Britney Spears' little sister just had an out of wedlock child at the age of 17. She was knocked up at 16. She says that holding her baby for the first time was "the coolest thing." Isn't that, like, so awesome?

So this celebutwit really has some big aspirations for her child and her role as a mother. Out of all the things you could want for your child ... for them to be a doctor or get a great education or you get my point ... Jamie Lynn wants her kid to play soccer. This girls' biggest dream as a mother is to be a soccer mom.

Jamie whatever is an example of why we will continue to raise a generation of wussified, government educated pansies. Because parents, little teenage celebutwits, are concerned about being the coolest soccer mom on the block, rather than worrying about the things that should be important to her child. And I'm sure that she will put her little kid into a government school, even though she has the money to afford a good education for her child. You know that this child will get a trophy for every game of soccer that she plays ... win or lose ... so that all the children feel good.

Gawd.

CLEANER SKIES LEAD TO WARMING

An article from the New Scientists says that cleaner skies have actually contributed to at least half of the warming that has occurred in Europe since 1980. The way it works is that the cleaner the skies, the more the sun's rays can pierce the atmosphere, which causes more warming of the earth. In Europe, the temperature has risen one degree Celsius since 1980. Scientists at the Institute for Atmospheric and Climate Science in Switzerland took aerosol concentrations from six locations in northern Europe and compared them with solar-radiation measurements over the same period. And guess what they found? Aerosol concentrations dropped by up to 60% while solar radiation rose by about 1 watt per square meter. Rolf Philipona, a co-author of the study at MeteoSwiss, Switzerland's national weather service says, "The decrease in aerosols probably accounts for at least half of the warming over Europe in the last 30 years."

Well .. I guess that proves that some global warming is man-made. We're working too hard to clean up the atmosphere. Who knew?

Senate Majority Whip Dick Durbin says that he is open to the idea of drilling for oil. Harry Reid may support drilling as well. Looks like some Democrats are finally getting the message.

Dick Morris is also keeping track of Obama's growing list of issues that he just can't make up his mind on.
