Yesterday at the National Press Club in Washington, Clyburn said, "It is critical our community be an integral and active part of the debate because African-Americans are disproportionately impacted by the effects of climate change economically, socially and through our health and well-being." Where does he get this horsesqueeze? From a "climate justice" advocacy group called the Environmental Justice and Climate Change Initiative which wrote a report which states, "Though far less responsible for climate change, African-Americans are significantly more vulnerable to its effects than non-Hispanic whites ... Health, housing, economic well-being, culture, and social stability are harmed from such manifestations of climate change as storms, floods, and climate variability." Poor poor pitiful victims of climate change ... and victims of evil white people at the same time. Are you believing this crap? To get an idea of where this Environmental Justice and Climate Change Initiative is coming from ... J. Andrew Hoerner is the co-author of this report on racism and climate change. Hoerner told the Business & Media Institute that "solutions to climate change should be designed in a way so investors don't reap all the benefits." In other words, this man doesn't want private businesses to make a profit from climate change solutions. And why is that? Come on, folks! Haven't you been listening? Profit is a dirty word to the environmental crowd because the environmental movement isn't about climate change. It isn't about the environment. It's about destroying capitalism and the free market. This man wants to use the force of government to make sure that this money is redistributed to the "poor." So just how does this "climate justice" group plan to redistribute this money? They suggest slapping businesses with a "fee, tax or allowance auction on polluters." This money would be used to "eliminate the financial burden on low-income and moderate-income households." And this would pay to reduce global warming. And these people know for a fact that government involvement means higher costs. They know this! But here is the rationalization from J. Andrew Hoerner: even though this scheme would cause product costs to increase, the revenue from the fees or tax would be redistributed to (poor) consumers to offset the higher costs. You can't make this stuff up. You go ahead and stay on the man-made climate change bandwagon as long as you like ... but the longer you ride the dumber you look. This is about destroying capitalism. Wake up, folks, and smell the tired old Marxists.
Looks like John Kerry is having a rough time right now. And to think ... this man was almost president of the United States. Your politicians at work. The people of Tennessee are sadly suffering the loss of loved ones after a terrible shooting at a church over the weekend. Naturally, fingers began pointing as to what is to blame for the shooter's irrational behavior ... and they have finally landed on talk radio. Look ... when you're a liberal, and you hate talk radio because your peeps just can't succeed in the venue ... you do what you can to discredit and even destroy it. Take a look at this headline: "Tennessee Church Shooting an Inevitable Consequence of Shock-Jocks' Hateful Rhetoric." The tagline underneath that reads: "Hateful talk about one's enemies undermining the nation leads to hateful acts in response." All of this was surmised from a piece in the Knoxville News Sentinel, which brought to light more information about the shooter. We know from the note that was left in his car that he had a hatred of the "liberal movement." He was apparently a regular listener to talk radio (yours truly not included). Police found "right-wing political books" (OMG!) in his home that were written by talk radio hosts. No .. mine wasn't one of them. Based on these facts, the blame now falls on talk radio for creating this monster. The motive behind this blog submission is, I believe, to continue setting the stage for censorship. If you can't handle what your ideological opponent is saying, they find a way to silence him. If you want to resort to infantile screams of "hate speech" and "shock jocks," well, fine. If that works for you. Meanwhile, perhaps the most telling information that has been given to us is the fact that this low-life said "he also was frustrated about not being able to obtain a job." He's a loser. He couldn't even get himself a job. Chimpanzees could run fry French fries at McDonalds; but apparently not this guy. Look folks. What happened in Tennessee was tragic, but it is fruitless to try and blame the situation on talk radio. I have a great idea ... why don't we impose the Fairness Doctrine that way hate-mongers will no longer be able to influence low-lifes like this Tennessee shooter.
The media isn't paying much attention to this aspect, but this maniac with the shotgun was stopped from killing more innocent people when he was rushed by some male church members. Kudos to them, but I'm a bit confused. In the wake of some recent mass shootings in this particular part of the country I thought that the accepted response to a maniac with a gun or guns was to do nothing - maybe lock some doors, hide behind some furniture - but other than that, to do nothing. Anyone who questions why you don't fight back is, of course, evil. There were some gutsy Americans in that church. Not bad for a bunch of liberals, wouldn't you say?
Through an interpreter, Sanchez-Jacobo told the judge that the only reason he is on trial is because "the American justice system has failed to protect my rights." He claims he was denied his right to an impartial jury because Mexican-Americans were excluded from the jury. He also cited violations to his constitutional rights to due process, a fair trial, his right to testify on his own behalf and a full disclosure of information to be presented in court. And finally, his right to counsel was violated because the government appointed attorneys didn't speak Spanish. And if that isn't bad enough, he complained that the jail's law library books weren't written in Spanish, therefore he couldn't do his own legal research. After presenting this information to the judge, Sanchez-Jacobo was sentenced to life in prison without possibility of parole for the first murder and life in prison with a minimum of 25 years for the second murder. Now your tax dollars will make sure that he is nice and cozy in prison for the rest of his life. Let's hope he makes some really good friends in the shower.
Another wonderful tale of a homeowner's association. Don't you just love them? How in the world to home and condo owners so often seem to manage to select the most power-hungry and irrational neighbors to serve on these boards? Could it be because the more sane homeowners want nothing to do with the association and wouldn't run for office if the perks included a private plane? So often we find the people serving on these boards are petty little people who have never wielded any power their entire lives and are now enjoying the experience, or just the opposite - people who were powerful at one time, lost that power and now miss it. Anyway ... here's a letter from a homeowner's association to a couple outside of Atlanta. I've tried to protect the couple's name. No such courtesy to the association.
READING ASSIGNMENTS
This is a must read from Investor's Business Daily about Barack Obama's stealth socialism. Your House of Representatives wasted your time and tax dollars passing a resolution to apologize to blacks for slavery and the Jim Crow laws. I wasn't involved, so they aren't speaking for me. Alaska Senator Ted Stevens was indicted for making false statements in order to cover up gifts that were given to him by an oil contractor. And you've elected this man to office for how many years? I hope this clown goes down hard. So Barack Obama was expecting a huge bounce in the numbers following his European tour. Looks like that's not working out as expected. This is a little look at why Europeans love Barack Obama. What's there not to love about The Chosen One? Why .... He doesn't even sweat! The unions are coming to Obama's rescue. The AFL-CIO is beginning a flier campaign to dispel false rumors about Barack Obama. Hillary who? You can apparently have dinner under the stars with the Hildabeast for just $5. Too much. Someone would have to pay me to be in the same room with her. For those of you parents who are considering sending your children back to government schools in a few weeks ... here's an article about how homeschooled students have an easier time transitioning into college because they can depend on themselves. Here's a great lesson in "rich" states compared to "poor" states. Something tells me that government has hand in this. This is more on the Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac situation and their "charitable" foundations ... aka. lobbyists and activists. Some kind words from Iran's Ahmadinejad ... just kidding! He blamed the United States for AIDS and says that the "big powers" are going down. How much does it costs to keep anarchist protestors away from the Democrat National Convention? Try $50 million of your tax dollars. You know when planes or helicopters are used to control massive fires ... turns out that this is usually nothing more than a "political air show" used to appease elected officials. Thanks for your tax dollars! For those of you who like spreadsheets, here's a breakdown of the latest federal individual income tax data. Remember the John Edwards scandal we told you about last week? Apparently Wikipedia won't allow Edwards' profile to be changed, adding the information reported in the National Enquirer. The state of Oregon has created quite a stir after offering doctor-assisted suicide to a cancer patient who was covered by government health insurance. Here we go folks ... state officials in Kansas are considering lowering the speed limit on highways to 70 mph to 65 mph. Any guesses as to why? In order to reduce carbon dioxide emissions. Someone has posted video of the top 10 "WTF" bodybuilding routines. Just try explaining watching this at work to your boss. Al Gore or Unibomber ... Take the Quiz! | |||
