| Thursday, June 19, 2008 This rally was in Detroit ... which is crawling in Muslims, by the way. And it is no secret that staffers will deliberately plan who can be seen with their candidate. In this case, one volunteer explained that "because of the political climate and what's going on in the world and what's going on with Muslim Americans it's not good for her to be seen on TV or associated with Obama." Well duh. And people are surprised by this? I mean, the people running the Obama campaign are anything but stupid. They know that 13% of registered voters still believe Barack Obama to be a Muslim. His campaign has been fighting this issue for months. Barack Obama wants the Muslim vote, he wants the approval from the Muslim world, but he will pander to your ignorance and try to convince that he doesn't. Here's a quote from one of the Muslim girls who was turned away. She says, "I was coming to support him, and I felt like I was discriminated against by the very person who was supposed to be bringing this change, who I could really relate to." Well that sounds like a Barack supporter to me. She hit all the highlights ... change. Naturally, CAIR has already come to defense of the Muslim women. CAIR is urging the Obama campaign to invite the two Muslim women to an upcoming campaign event.
So Mr. Zebari had a message for Barack Obama which was that Iraq is really making progress and he hopes that any action Obama takes will not endanger this process. It was Obama's reply that caught my eye: he said that "if there would be a Democratic administration, it will not take any irresponsible, reckless, sudden decisions or action to endanger your gains, your achievements, your stability or security. Whatever decision he will reach will be made through close consultation with the Iraqi government and U.S. military commanders in the field." Ok ....... so what are we supposed to make of that? I've said from the beginning that the most important issue for this country is terrorism, and our efforts in Iraq are our greatest front in that fight. So here we have a Democrat candidate who is promising his voters a speedy withdrawal ... then we have a foreign minister who says a speedy withdrawal would be disastrous ... then we have a Democrat candidate who says he is willing to consult with the Iraqi government on how to handle the situation ... and then we have an Iraqi government that doesn't want us to withdraw immediately. I don't know, folks. We've always known that politicians will do anything to get elected ... but it seems like every day there Barack Obama has "changed" his mind or "shifted" his view. But all you, the ignorant voter, need to remember is that he will bring you change that you can believe in.
The top official of the United Nations Human Rights Council is concerned that there are "taboo" subjects that the council refuses to address ... can you guess what main subject would be taboo for the Human Right Council? That would be ANY discussion on Islamic Sharia Law. On Monday Council chair Doru Romulus Costea cut off a speaker who raised the subject of Islamic Sharia law in relation to human rights. The man had the nerve to bring up rules for women under Sharia law, which include the death penalty by stoning for alleged adultery. His comments sparked a "furious response" from Arab and Islamic members and Egypt's ambassador declared that "Islam won't be crucified before this Council". What he meant to say was, how dare you insult the religion of Allah, may peace be upon him. Then the chairman of the council explained that the human rights council is not prepared to discuss religious matters in depth ... if they aren't going to discuss religious matters then what the hell is the point? But Costea insists that "the Council doesn't have the expertise to debate about the fascinating links between religion and human rights." This, my friends, is you United Nations. And this is your praise-worthy Human Rights Council.
But apparently this is illegal in the state of New York. Under state law, 75% of educational spending is supposed to be distributed to schools that have the "greatest educational needs." Schools Chancellor Joel I. Klein has asked that the state loosen the restriction, but some say that he is already unfairly spending the money. The executive director of the Campaign for Fiscal Equity, Geri D. Palast says, "Despite the fact that they're running around telling people that they're cutting rich schools in favor of poor schools, the fact is they're not even doing that." READING ASSIGNMENTS Oh boy, you had to guess something like this was coming...Democrats want to have the government control the refineries. Boy, don't you miss Ronald Reagan? Here's the latest from Dick Morris who says that gas prices are the first important issue in this election. The Government Accountability Office has upheld the protest filed by Boeing after the Air Force awarded a $40 billion to Northrop Grumman for refueling tankers. John McCain has called for 45 new nuclear reactors to be constructed by 2030. A report by Department of Homeland Security Inspector found that FEMA is still incapable of doing anything efficiently. A new study has found that how clouds form could actually be causing temperature changes, which could lead to overestimation of how sensitive the Earth is to greenhouse gases. Iran has opened its very first women-only park called the "Mothers' Paradise" park. When your city can't balance the budget, apparently the best thing to do is install red-light cameras to try and get more money from the taxpayers. Never mind the fact that red-light cameras have not been proven to actually improve safety. The AMA has agreed not to ban menthol from cigarettes ... essentially because 75% of black smokers prefer menthol. Belinda will be very upset to hear that Iceland has killed another polar bear. Another reason to send your child to a government school ... Talk about a dumbass ... this guy robbed a bank to buy a used truck while the salesman waited outside in the used truck he was trying to buy. Firefox 3, the web browser Neal uses, has been released!
