Let me tell you a little something about "fair." Where was the fairness when our own government decided that American companies couldn't drill off of our own coasts while other countries are perfectly capable of doing so? Where was the fairness when Barack Obama says he wants the government to tax windfall profits from private oil companies and distribute it to non-achievers to pay for gas? Where is the fairness when oil company executives are dragged to Congress like some sort of criminals because they actually make a profit in their businesses? You wanna take about fair? It's "unfair" that Florida has been a tick in the side of American energy policy for so long. Now suck it up and stop mocking the situation ... I'm sure millions of people who are paying $4 a gallon at the pump are not nearly as flippant about the future of this country. But I shouldn't expect anything less from a Democrat.
You're probably thinking, what's the big deal Boortz? The problem is that New Haven is known as a city of immigrants. Mostly Latino. Mostly illegal. In fact, some estimate that the illegal immigrant population could be as large as 10,000, which is about 12% of the population. And who can apply for city ID cards but not driver's licenses ... illegal immigrants. So the legal taxpayers are saying that the government is trying to pander to the illegal population, rather than rewarding the taxpaying, law-abiding citizens of the city. That sounds about right to me. So the government way of thinking is that if a resident has a government issued driver's license, they must come into city hall, pay $10, and apply for an ID card as well, in order to be eligible for the gas discount. Oh and another thing ... the mayor's spokesperson insists that tax dollars will not be funding this program. Instead, the local merchants will make up for the discount. Isn't government great?
The answer to your question Mark is no, I do not think that we should have an amendment to the Constitution to ban any religion, even the hideous cult of Islam. I value freedom above anything else, and one of those freedoms includes the freedom of religion. I am not one of these Bible-thumping conservatives who want to use the power of government to tell you how to live your life. While terrorism is the absolute most important issue we are facing, banning Muslims from our country would be going against everything that this country was founded on and would do little to actually solve the problem we are facing ... because if there is a will there is a way, and clearly Islamofacists have a will to destroy this country, with or without a Constitutional amendment.
Homer Simpson moment: "The mainstream media dusted off its copy of Casablanca this week and offered its best imitation of Claude Rains to declare, 'We're shocked - shocked! Unemployment has increased 10 percent!' Really? Well, it did increase from 5.0 percent in April to 5.5 percent in May, the month that offers scores of freshly minted high-school and college graduates seeking full-time employment. The media that pride themselves on understanding nuance are shocked that May unemployment has increased relative to April? However, there is more to unemployment numbers than the arrival of new grads - specifically, the 40 percent increase in the minimum wage - $5.15 per hour to $7.25 - that Congress passed in 2007. To minimize accountability for their actions, however, Congress delayed implementation until 2008. Businesses, being consumers of labor, responded to the increased cost just as consumers have responded to the increased price of gas - by reducing their consumption. In the case of the motorist, reduction means combining trips and shopping closer to home. For business, it is reduced payrolls and increased work loads for remaining employees." - Patriot Post
What have I been telling you? But to many it doesn't matter if tax cuts lead to
increased tax revenues. The purpose of a tax increase is to punish achievement
and to assuage the jealousy of the non-achievers. Democrats have raised this to
an art form.
For all of you sending us the emails that Obama can't be president because he isn't a US born citizen ... get a life. You are getting these emails from the same people who are convinced that Barack Obama is really a Muslim and truly believe that Obama once had a gay lover. Obama is going to be the Democrat nominee whether you like it or not ... so why don't you tune into the Boortz show and learn a thing or two from Neal about Obama's policies and beliefs. Then you can send us the emails about something that actually matters in this election. Thank you. READING ASSIGNMENTS
Obama says that if Osama bin Laden is captured alive, America should bring him to justice in a way that avoids turning him into a martyr. So today during the program, perhaps we'll ponder some ways to bring Osama to justice ... like making him sit through a Britney Spears concert or something. Or ... just shooting him on sight and not telling anyone. Barack Obama has a new national ad about how much he loves his country. Isn't that convenient? Here's Matt Towry's latest column on the airline industry and the upcoming election. How much taxpayer money is it going to cost the taxpayers to keep the Capitol cool and "green"? The Texas Republican Party is distancing itself from a vendor who sold campaign buttons at a state convention that said, "If Obama is president ... will we still call it The White House?" All idiots aren't Democrats The poodle is slipping in the polls in Massachusetts. Can you imagine?? In four years from presidential candidate to former Senator. Well, that's OK with him. All he wants right now is to be Secretary of State in the Obama administration. A federal judge has ruled that a state prison violated a convicted child killer's civil rights because they refused to serve him a vegan diet. The IRS is going to spend even more of taxpayer money to send out second notices to people who have yet to file for their stimulus check. If they forget to file .. their problem. The ACLU wants the Greenfield City Council in Ohio to stop saying opening prayers before council meetings. Some teenage girls educated in government schools thought it would be pretty ... like ... cool to go out and get pregnant. Two teenagers in California broke into their government school computer system and tried to beef up their academic transcripts ... they are now facing up to 38 years in jail for cyber-hacker. This one's a no-brainer ... Canadians who spend lots of time in front of screens -- especially TV screens -- are more likely to be obese. This guy won $57 million in the Mega Millions lotto ... so we can safely bet that his life will be miserable from here on out. Not to mention the fact that he is a registered sex offender. Well here's one way to greet your new neighbor who happens to be another registered sex offender. Apparently the Cape Cod National Seashore is having a problem with people literally pounding sand. A man in Gainesville, Florida started a homeless soccer team ... the only problem is that he has no players. If you haven't heard this version of Hound Dog, you need to drop what you're doing and have a listen. Did you know that Sports Illustrated has 95 videos on youtube related to their swimsuit issues? You're welcome. | ||
