| Tuesday, March 25, 2008 NEAL IS ON VACATION But we do have a fresh crop of reading assignments for you. We'll call this installment "listener's choice" because every last one of 'em was sent in by YOU. Enjoy! READING ASSIGNMENTS This is article has been sent in by hundreds of Boortz Show listeners ... so for those of you who missed it the first time, here are some climate facts to warm to. Here's something that shouldn't shock you ... negative media coverage of Iraq is linked to increased insurgent attacks. For all of you in government schools, this is your history lesson today from the Church of the Painful Truth. Here's some reading about voting for the President. If you've been a good student, you will know what is wrong with this article. Scientists in Great Britain are delaying a government policy demanding the inclusion of biofuels at pumps across the UK because their benefit is outweighed by the "negative effects from their production." But what do they know, they are just scientists. The Florida NAACP says that a baggy pants bill is a "clearly discriminatory bill" and will cause more legal trouble for black male students. Environmentalists in North Carolina want to stop off-road vehicles from driving on the Cape Hatteras National Seashore because they want to protect shorebirds. You know how Neal feels about NIMBYs who complain about airport noise ... here's the story of Lenox Stevens who complained 1,060 times last year about the noise from Tampa International Airport. Three words for Mr. Stevens: Get a life. Three generation of British adults known as the "Shameless" family are proud of the fact that they have never worked a day in their lives and live off of the government. Their excuse: they have too many children to look after. They are leaches who contribute nothing to society except government-educated ankle biters. Find me a mayor in this country that is so down-and-out that he needs gifts from the local toys for tots fund ... chances are you can't, unless you are Mandeville Mayor Eddie Price (who, by the way, is far from "down-and-out"). This story about what happened to a cop when he responded to a noise complaint may only be worth it for the last sentence. An officer in Louisiana violated state law by putting his name in the middle of the Sheriff's Office crest on the side of his police cruiser. The latest repercussion of being a sex offender: the federal government will seize your house. You know you have no life when you end up in court because your virtual sex toys were stolen in your Second Life. A man loses control of his car because he lost his Oreo cookie ... then the clerk mistakenly typed that he was driving under the influence. But it looks like he was going to jail anyway. Thanks to Michael for bringing this to our attention ... here's how Archie Bunker felt about Democrats and those evil corporations 30 years ago. Amazing how times change. Or not. Neal is not a big fan on The National Anthem ... but it seems that many Boortz Show listeners are partial to this version by the Cactus Cuties. | ||
