WE NEED TO KEEP COUNT HERE

How many times in the last two years have you heard Democrats propose some new spending program ... and then tell everyone that they can fund the program by simply raising taxes on "millionaires" or the "top 1% of taxpayers."

I really wish I had been making a list of "tax the rich" proposals made by the Democrats. I think that by now we would be up to about six or seven such propels with an effective surcharge of 6 to 7% on all people earning over a certain figure.

Now never mind that the very people that the Democrats love to raise taxes on are the people who provide most of our jobs. Though they may be the heart of America's small business owners, it's still easy to demagogue them as simply being "rich." Democrats love this stuff ... and that's the whole point.

We'll rant a bit about this on the show today. Isn't it nice to have something to look forward to?

THE MESSIAH "UNDERSTANDS" HAMAS

I touched on this briefly on the program yesterday. Barack Obama says that he understands why top Hamas advisers support him for president. Isn't that sweet? He says, "It's conceivable that there are those in the Arab world who say to themselves, 'This is a guy who spent some time in the Muslim world, has a middle name of Hussein and appears more worldly and has called for talks with people, and so he's not going to be engaging in the same sort of cowboy diplomacy as George Bush."

My translation? Horsesqueeze.

Are we really to believe that Hamas would endorse a candidate for the US presidency based on the fact that he has spent some time in the Muslim world? Not exactly. Muslim terrorists and radicals will endorse and support Barack Obama because they know he will not be a bother to them. He will not stand up to Islamic extremism. This is a guy who wants talk, not action. They absolutely love talk, Muslims have managed to become about 25% of the population of Europe while all this talking is going on. When people are just sitting around talking it leaves radical Muslims free to act. You talk. We'll act.

There's more Obamanation news out there. Now we read that Obama referred to Israel as a "constant sore" that infects all of our foreign policy. Well, that certainly ought to really bring on the support from Jewish voters.

OBAMA'S SUPPORT ... IN PALESTINE

Al-Jazeera has produced a report showing Palestinians in Gaza campaigning for Barack Obama. In fact, not only are they campaigning but they are working at a phone bank, calling people in America to ask them to vote for Obama. One of the pro-Obama Palestinian organizers says that he is voting for Barack Obama because he studied his campaign manifesto and thought that he was a man capable of change.

Change? Well, if we stopped fighting Islamic radicalism ... that would be a change, wouldn't it? That would be change that Muslims can believe in.

CHANGE YOU DESERVE

As if the Democrat and Republican parties weren't similar enough ... the Republicans have decided to jump on the "change" bandwagon as well. They must have done some focus group testing recently and found out the same thing that the Democrats found out long ago: people like the word "change." It's true. They get these little groups together and flash different words in front of them. The one word that has everybody's boxers in a bunch lately is the word "change." Change we can believe in!

Well the Republicans have now adopted their own change slogan. In a memo to Republican members, leadership hinted that they needed a change message because it has already shown to hit home with the unhappy public. The chosen slogan is ... change you deserve.

Ok, take a look at the slogan one more time. What is the key word in that phrase? Deserve. Now you can play around with the definition of "deserve" all you want ... but you can essentially interpret the word to mean worthy of something. Now I'm sure you know where I am going with this.

Yeah .. I want change. And its change I think I richly deserve. I deserve to be left alone by government. I'm not doing anything to deny any other person their rights ... so by what rights does the government control and manipulate my life to this extent? I deserve to keep more of what I earn. I most certainly don't deserve to be forced into indentured servitude to take care of the needs of others who are too damned lazy to take care of their own lives and families.

It t turns out that the slogan actually comes from an antidepressant drug. The Democrats have already been quick to jump on that one saying that it reflects the Republican mood at the moment. They're half-right. It actually should reflect the mood of Democrats and Republicans, because what do we really have to look forward to? Just more government .. more taxes .. and less freedom.

PUTIN THE PUPPET MASTER

If I were John McCain or Barack Obama, I think I might want to carry a Geiger counter around with me. That's because Dmitry Mednedev might be Russia's new president, but Vladimir Putin is still running the show. In fact, when Putin showed up at the Kremlin the other day to propose the names of his new ministers, Putin sat down in his customary seat ... the one for the President. Might sound silly, but it is just a subtle display of how we are being played like fools.

Putin went to sit down and said to Medvedev, "Now this is your place." Then Medvedev looked at Putin and said "Oh, what's the difference?" Now all the analysts and media are buzzing ... "look Putin is still in power." Gee, ya think?

RECYCLING NUT JOBS

Coming to an American city near you ... a city council in Great Britain refused to collect garbage from a 95-year-old war veteran who is almost blind because he put a ketchup bottle in the wrong bin. Talk about government stupidity, folks.

Lenny Ward has lived in the same house for 58 years. Now the local government has imposed these new rigid recycling rules. You see, the blue bins are for cans and cardboard and the green box is for glass and the black bin is for other stuff. Well Lenny made the mistake of putting the ketchup bottle and a coffee jar in the blue bin (when they really should have gone in the green box). Blasphemy. When a local government worker came by to inspect the blue bin, he refused to empty it. He then attached a tag to it, which is part of an intricately designed system to punish residents who fail to properly follow the system. The tag attached warned Lenny not to break the rules again.

So what does happen if you fail to properly adhere to the system? Try a criminal record and a fine. All thanks to environmental nut jobs on a government power trip.

READING ASSIGNMENTS

The Senate voted yesterday to stop the shipment of oil to the strategic petroleum reserve. Just a mindless feel-good gesture. Exactly what you would expect from these people.

Barack Obama campaign volunteers are already crying "racism." This is just a beginning.

That leads to this great article by Rich Lowry about the Obama rules ... the campaign has managed to succeed in imposing their rules on the race.

New Orleans Mayor Ray Nagin endorsed Barack Obama because he essentially says we desperately need change we can believe in. New Orleans needed to change mayors. They didn't. What happens to them now is their own stupid fault.

Reports are now saying that Hillary is staying in the race only so she can raise large amounts of money to pay off her debt Here's three bucks, Hillary. Now go away.

Here's irony. The Hillary Clinton campaign is pointing out media bias in favor of Barack Obama ... but says that FoxNews has been one of the more responsible sources for news on the campaign.

A special House committee is beginning investigations into the "stolen vote" that occurred back in August 2007.
