A NOTE ABOUT THE NOTES Today the notes had to be scanned from a fax and put through OCR software. So
expect to find a few more errors than usual. We think you can handle it. HERE WE GO WITH THIS GAY MARRIAGE NONSENSE AGAIN
Oh ... I'm just going to love this. The screaming, the wailing, the gnashing of
teeth. The California Supreme Court has set aside the California laws banning
gay marriage. This. of course, will be cast by many as the end of the
institution of marriage in the U.S. Now Republicans will start demanding of
their candidates at all levels that they pledge support for some sort of a
Constitutional amendment limiting marriage to a man and a women. This country is
headed down the pipes economically and in terms of freedom and liberty, and
people are going to start focusing on who can and who cannot claim to be a
married couple.
Not that anyone's listening here, but the California Supreme Court can't do
anything to affect your relationship with your husband or wife. Nor can this
court do any more to damage the institution of marriage than Hollywood and our
entertainment industry have. There is no gay couple out there that can demean
marriage the way popsluts like Britney Spears, Pan Anderson and an endless list
of Hollywood actors have.
Give it a rest and dedicate yourself to your own marriage... there you can
make a difference.
BUSH'S CRITICIZES THE MESSIAH ????
... And the entire Democrat part goes ballistic. Why
even Hillary Clinton came
to the defense of Barack Obama. Yesterday Bush was in Israel speaking on the
occasion of the 60th anniversary of Israel. During that speech he called out
Barack Obama for saying that he would negotiate with terrorists and radicals.
Now there's no argument here.
That is exactly what Obama said.. he would go have
some nice talks with the leaders of terrorist supporting nations, including
Iran. Now Obama is predictably calling this a "false political attack."
But what has really ruffled Democrat feathers is Bush's analogy of negotiating
with Hitler. Bush said. "As Nazi tanks crossed into Poland in 1939, an American
Senator declared: 'Lord, if only I could have talked to Hitler, all of this
might have been avoided.' We have an obligation to call this what it is -- the
false comfort of appeasement, which has been repeatedly discredited by history."
Oh how the liberals are whining. Some leftist idiots have even said that Bush
has essentially compared Barack Obama to Adolph Hitler. Not so. Bush compared
Obama to some Senator who thought it would have been a good idea to negotiate
with Hitler... but this is too fine a difference for some leftists to
understand.
Nancy Pelosi is all upset because she believes Bush's comments were
"beneath the dignity of the office of the president and unworthy of our
representation."
But perhaps the most telling reaction
came from Senator Joe Biden. He
essentially called the comment horsesqueeze. But then he goes on to blame Bush
for single-handedly causing the war against Islamic radicals: "He's the guy
who's weakened us. He's the guy that's increased the number of terrorists in the
world. His policies have produced this vulnerability the United States has."
Wow. And I thought the United States was vulnerable when it was attacked on 9/11
... since which point, it has been President Bush that has prevented another
attack from occurring and steadfastly fought a war against those out to destroy
our country and our Western culture. As soon as Barack Obama is inaugurated he is going to legitimize these
terrorist nations by engaging them in discussions. The only people who will
benefit will be the terrorist leaders.
FOLLOW THE MONEY
Barack Obama has recently been
bragging about the millions of dollars he got
black-owned businesses in Illinois. Back in 2001, Barack Obama helped black
owned investment firms in Chicago get a larger share of business with Illinois
state pension funds. It may not surprise you to find out that an owner of one of
the investment firms is now a principal campaign fund raiser for the Obama
campaign. John Rogers of Ariel Capital in an Illinois finance co-chair for
Obama's presidential campaign. He's raised more than $200,000. The employees at
his firm, that Obama once helped get state business. have now contributed
$70,000 to his campaign. And that is just one firm. The other investment firms
that Obama once helped have now raised $765,000 for his campaign. Let's also
point out that Obama used to use their private jets at the time when it was
still legal in a campaign to do so.
While Obama was doing all this bragging he somehow forget to mention that two of
the firms he helped have since been dismissed for "underperformance."
You want to see some underperformance? Wait until you see Barack in action in
the White House.
IS THE IMMIGRATION ISSUE BACK?
Senators Dianne Feinstein and Larry Craig are sponsors of
an agricultural job
amendment that essentially paves a wav for illegal aliens to gain amnesty.
Yesterday the Senate Appropriations Committee added the provision to an Iraq
spending bill. The bill would allow illegal aliens working in the agriculture
industry to win legal status in the US.
Feinstein is complaining that 80,000 workers may soon have to go back home to
Mexico... and she is upset about this? These people are criminals. They came
here illegally, they stay here illegally, and they work her illegally. So let's
do something nice for them .. .right?
Chairman Robert Byrd says that no matter how you characterize it, this amendment
still amounts to amnesty. He says that these immigration issues should be
addressed through regular order. No kidding. But Dianne and the other amnesty
bed-wetters want policies like this to fly under the radar,.. what the American
people don't know, they can't oppose. That's how ignorant they believe you to be
- the majority of Americans opposed the amnesty bill last summer. but
politicians will still find a sneaky way to make it happen.
THE PEOPLE VS. EXXON
Matt Lauer, in all his journalistic brilliance,
interviewed the CEO of ExxonMobil Rex Tillerson. Lauer displays not only his ignorance but the
ignorance of Americans like "Elaine from Pennsylvania." Elaine sent an email
into the show, which asked Mr. Tillerson. "'How can you justify the record
profits you're making when people can't afford to put gas in their cars to go to
work?'" First off, what does this question imply? It implies wealth envy. Elaine
insinuates that oil companies have to justify their earnings in a free market
society and that they are evil for making money when others are "suffering." So
Tillerson's response is exactly what you would expect and what I have been
saying day in and day out ... profits are not large because of high profit
margins. but because of high volume. Clearly Elaine (and possible Matt Lauer)
does not have a basic understanding of profit margins. But Tillerson really puts
things into perspective. He says. "[W]hen you take our profit of $40 billion [in
2007]. that's 1 0 cents on every dollar of revenue that we generate... That puts
us about in the middle of most Fortune 500 companies, so we're not at the top in
terms of profit per revenue; we're not at the bottom." Do you hear that, folks?
For all of you whining and complaining about oil companies, in terms of profit
per revenue, these companies are about in the middle of most Fortune 500
companies.
Leave it to NBC to feature an email from some economic dolt who couldn't write a
cohesive sentence on the difference between a profit and a profit margin.
Matt Lauer then had another brainless point. Apparently the oil companies are
expected to be held to different standards than other Fortune 500 companies
because "a lot of Fortune 500 companies. Mr. Tillerson, don't so directly impact
people's ability to go to work, do their jobs, feed their families and that sort
of thing, and that's where the problem comes in," So now the industry must not
rely on supply and demand (like other companies would), but must also make
businesses decisions based on how Billy is going to get to his job at
MacDonald's.
What we're seeing in Lauer's comments is the new liberal dogma that it is only
OK to make profits so long as you're making that profit on something that people
don't really need.
One last thing. Lauer suggests that Exxon isn't investing enough of its profits
in finding ways to bring down prices. Well Tillerson throws that right back in
his face saying that they would do more if they could gain access to more areas
to apply their technology. Are any of you environmentalists listening? When do
you want to start becoming a part of the solution rather than the problem? REDNECK SCRAP BOOK Do rednecks and science mix?
You decide. More in the Redneck Scrap Book.
READING ASSIGNMENTS John McCain decided to
give us an outline for his vision in Iraq. The federal government has decided that
it is its job to negotiate credit card transaction fees by creating a panel
to determine interchange rates and terms. Guess who is not happy with the decision to make polar bears a threatened
species ... the Representatives, Senators, Governor and other groups
who are actually from Alaska. Liberal bed-wetters are happy to hear this ...
CEO pay at the biggest U.S. corporations dropped sharply last year. Those
greedy rich. Apparently the greatest market failure since the invention of modern
capitalism is
Bush's "scandal of the uninsured."
Fred Thompson is now a blogger on Townhall.com. House Minority Leader John A. Boehner is trying to convince us that
Republicans do have an agenda. What do you get
when you combine the ACLU and the UN? Liberal horsesqueeze, that's what. Illegal immigration has really taken a back seat in this campaign. Here's an
article that says the problem isn't immigration ...
it's the liberal multiculturalists. Native Americans in Georgia are now picking up where Governor Sonny Perdue's
prayers for rain left off.
They insist this is not a rain dance. When Australia wants to encourage investments, guess what it decides to do?
Lower taxes. This was all over the news yesterday ... the California Supreme Court
overturned the gay marriage ban.
Here's a useless story about the presidential candidates ... how many people
are buying Barack Obama thongs and Hillary boxers. In Great Britain, a woman has been awarded $10,000
because her boss passed gas in her general direction. A town in the Ukraine is erecting a
monument to symbolize those people who make pigs of themselves by drinking
far too much .
