AFTERTHOUGHT!

  • Now we have some scientist telling us that the economic crisis is going to actually help our precious earth because it will slow down all of that human activity that is causing global warming.  Nice try.  The earth stopped any warming almost a decade ago, and has been cooling for seven years.  Desperate scientists need something to explain this ... and since every other problem facing mankind is due to our economy, might as well add the end of global warming to the list.

  • We are just 26 days away from the voters of this nation engaging in an act that comes very close to national suicide.  How much different things would be if we had an informed electorate.  The mind reels.  But when you consider the fact that most voters are educated by the government ... in schools controlled by teachers unions dedicated to the Democrat party ... well, you get the picture.

  • The aging hollow-eyed hippie from Haight-Ashbury wants to bring the congress back into session after the election to pass another economic stimulus plan.  Now since Americans who pay most of the taxes aren't allowed to participate in the plan, it can accurately be described as simple wealth redistribution.   Pelosi thinks the Republicans will be in the dump after the election .. and the time would be ripe to transfer more wealth.  Oh ... what fun we're going to have over the next four years.

  • James Carville is warning about riots if Obama doesn't get elected ... or is he?   During CNN's post-debate coverage Carville said:  "But you stop and contemplate this country if Obama goes in and he has a consistent five point lead and loses the election, it would be very, very, very dramatic out there."  And just how could Obama go into the election with a five point lead and lose?  Ever heard of the Bradley effect?

  • Here we go with the "racism" thing again.  Now we have Ray Suarez,  the senior correspondent for Jim Lehrer's news hour on PBS telling us that the various "pseudo-controversies" being generated about Obama and his background are really nothing more than cover stories for racism. (Yawn.)  Are you keeping tract of all of this folks?  Let's see:  Referring to Obama as "skinny" is racist.  Using the words "community organizer" is racist.  Any reference to Obama's former church or pastor is most certainly racist.  I've forgotten so many here ... but you get the picture, you racist!

  •  A recent survey shows that 4 out of 5 job-creating CEOs favor McCain in this presidential race.  So what.  For those out there looking for a better job it is more important that someone who looks like them be in the White House rather than someone who might help them in their job quest.   Change, right?  Let's chase more jobs overseas. Now that's change we can believe in.  You people just go get your new jobs at the middle class employer's job fair.

TWENTY SIX DAYS TO GO ...

Before the government-educated voters engage in the ultimate act of celebrity worship and turn the future of liberty and freedom over to Nancy Pelosi, Harry Reid and Barack Obama.

TO START YOUR DAY OFF ON A HAPPY NOTE

What you are about to read has become the talk of the country --- well, at least the talk of the left. Do you suck it up and get used to it or do you fight until the end? John McCain has not yet decided to fight. So here it goes:

There's a new scent in the air. If you're a Democrat, you haven't felt it tickle your nostrils since October 1996, when everybody knew that Bill Clinton was about to beat Bob Dole. The perfume hasn't been this strong since October 1964, the eve of Lyndon Johnson's landside presidential victory. It's the sweet smell of success that you can take for granted.

With every passing day, it's harder to imagine that the next president of the United States will be a Republican-even a "maverick" Republican like John McCain. A consensus is emerging that the next president will be Barack Obama, a Democrat.

That, my friends, is from Slate magazine. Of course, it came from the same writer that once said calling Barack Obama skinny is racist. But you get my point. As I read the column I found one passage more than interesting. Timothy Noah, the author, wrote that over the past 25 years there were many sentiments that a Democrat should never say out loud. Noah says that Obama still can't say them, but other Democrats (those not running for election?) can. Here's just a sampling ... Noah calls these long-buried sentiments a refreshing change from what we've been hearing since Reagan was elected:

  • "I think Karl Marx had some valuable insights into capitalist economies!"
  • "The Second Amendment does too allow government to ban handguns."
  • "I don't support the troops. I support some troops, depending on whether or not they've committed war crimes."
  • "If Israel isn't out of the occupied territories in six months we'll cut off all aid."

That's just a partial list from the column. I think the one about Israel is interesting in light of the fact that most of our Jewish population will be voting Democrat. And the Karl Marx bit certainly must bring a smile to Obama's face.

Right now, Barack Obama is enjoying the biggest lead over John McCain in the polls. We are talking an eleven point lead ... and that doesn't motivate John McCain to go out there and throw a few punches? I thought this man was a warrior. Just a simple line! Something like "Barack Obama is going to tax the job you need right into the next decade."

"THAT ONE"

Perhaps the only other moment gaining any sort of recognition from the debate is the moment John McCain referred to Barack Obama as "that one." Here is the quote in context: "My friends, I know you grow a little weary with this back-and-forth. It was an energy bill on the floor of the Senate loaded down with goodies, billions for the oil companies, and it was sponsored by Bush and Cheney. You know who voted for it? You might never know. That one. You know who voted against it? Me."

So the liberals have their thongs in a wad. Some are complaining that it was demeaning, setting a tone of "those people." Others saw it as the true side of John McCain - a cranky, uncomfortable old man. And yes, I'm sure if you get right down to it ... it was racist. I mean, isn't that the argument these days? The only reason John McCain would refer to Barack Obama like that is because he is a racist, right?

LET'S TRY THIS ONE AGAIN, OBAMA

A quick note about something Barack Obama said during the debate. Obama made the assertion that he is actually going cut more than he is going to spend ... sounded a bit odd considering the amount of new programs and entitlements he is proposing. So a check with the Committee for a Responsible Federal Budget suggests that Barack Obama's statement doesn't even come close to be true.

According to this committee, Barack Obama will increase spending by $425 billion over his first term. However, he is only planning $144 billion in spending cuts. Even a government-educated third-grader could tell you that this results in a net increase in the deficit by $281 billion. Oh and by the way, this report takes into consideration the fact that "saving money" according to Barack Obama means tax increases on the wealthy.

WOULD SOME ONE JUST DO IT?

OK .. who do I have to sleep with to get just one member of the media to ask The Crown Prince this question:

"Senator Obama: You repeatedly say that you are going to cut taxes for 95% of Americans. Only 55% of wage earners pay income taxes in the first place! So please tell us how you are going to accomplish this feat. Is your real plan to give people a free ride on Social Security and Medicare?"

You know why you don't get this question, don't you? Well, first of all. Obama avoids questioning. Secondly, the media is in the tank for Obama like they've never been in the tank for any presidential candidate in our history.

HEALTH CARE A RIGHT?

Question was whether or not health care was a right, a privilege or a responsibility. McCain answered that it was a responsibility. Imagine that. How out of touch can you get? This guy actually thinks that people should exercise some personal responsibility in arranging for their own and their family's health care?

Obama, to absolutely nobody in the universe's surprise, said that health care was a "right."

Let's run through this again:

The standard rights guaranteed and protected by our Constitution are such things as freedom of religion and speech. The right to peacefully assemble and gripe about government. You have the right to keep and bear arms, and then there's the right to be free from unreasonable search and seizure. The point here is that all of these rights can be recognized and honored without any other party having to give up either a portion of their lives or their property. It doesn't cost anyone anything for you to own a gun, speak your mind, worship your God, or stand on the street corner with a like-minded group to gripe about government.

Now what about this "right" to healthcare thing? Healthcare comes in the form of both treatment by health care professionals and the administration of therapies or drugs. For you to exercise your "right" to healthcare some other individual must sacrifice some of their time attending to you, and some other individuals must surrender some of their property (drugs and treatment devices) to be used in your care. So, in saying that you have a "right" to healthcare you are saying that you have a right to a portion of someone else's life as well as a portion of their property.

You buying this?

Just remember - leftist push government-run health care because they know that this is perhaps the biggest step they could take in making you totally dependent on government Once your dependence on government --- and politicians --- is cemented, what do you believe the future of freedom would be?

The Politico says that the Presidential debate Tuesday night was "the worst debate ever." Agreed - and the blame goes squarely to Tom Bwokaw.

Nancy Pelosi says that she may call the House back for a special session after the election so she can pass a $150 billion stimulus plan.

Wow, I can't believe my ears. Did I really just hear a mildly intelligent conversation on CNBC about Barack Obama's tax policies?

Even though the presidential debate Tuesday night bored my socks off, it still had more viewers than the first debate. Although it scored slightly less viewers than the Vice Presidential debate.

John Stossel, as you can imagine, isn't too pleased with this government bailout. Here's a concept, it's called the free market.

Politicians have been bragging about how they worked caps on CEO compensation into the bailout bill ... but will it be all bark and no bite?

Chuck Schumer has his panties in a wad because the U.S. Chamber of Commerce has donated significantly more money to Republicans compared to Democrats. Gee, I wonder why that would be.

So now Obama is trying to deny that he never worked for ACORN? Stanley Kurtz has more ...

McCain is in a no-win situation, because no matter what he does, his campaign will be labeled as racist. If you don't have an Obama bumper sticker on your car, you just might be a racist. If you don't have an Obama yard sign in front of your house, you might be a racist. Gee ... do I feel a riff coming on here? Apologies to Foxworthy.

Ok, take a look at this for yourself and decide whether or not James Carville is hinting at race riots if Barack Obama doesn't win in November.

Try this one on for size ... there are 644,197 eligible voters in Indianapolis and 677,401 people registered to vote. Read that again. Now, the county Democrat Party chairman says that the Barack Obama campaign brought in 12,000 new registered voted just over the weekend ... ya don't say?

On a lighter note, did you see this introduction of Joe Biden at a campaign rally? Talk about an oops moment!

People in Illinois were trying to prove how tough it is for someone living on food stamps to survive on $25 a week for food ... HEY PEOPLE, you were never supposed to rely 100% of food stamps for your survival.

The economic crisis is stressing out Americans, causing us to be irritable, fatigued, and turn to unhealthy ways to cope. Idiots.

And now for the important stuff ... an ancestry website has found that Sarah Palin is related to Princess Diana and FDR.

Informative Infographic: maybe you should have bought beer instead of stock.

Is Fox News reaching a bit with their complaints about the Sarah Palin Newsweek cover?
