Let's address this idea that all of these people who get the Obama welfare checks pay Social Security and Medicare Taxes. These are really not so much taxes as they are mandated premiums for a specific defined benefit. The idea here is that you pay for your Social Security and your Medicare while you are working, and receive the benefits when you retire. If Obama wants to eliminate these tax burden with his "refundable tax credits" then he is turning both of these programs into pure income redistribution efforts. However you say it, folks, the fact of the matter is that Barack Obama's tax plan is welfare - he takes money from the high achievers and spreads it around to those with lower incomes. For those of you who really want to understand Barack Obama's "tax cuts" (which are not really tax cuts but welfare checks), I suggest you read this article again from the Wall Street Journal. To Barack Obama, "tax cuts" is the new way to say government handout. Why doesn't the mainstream media cover that side of the tax argument? If you want to see this in visual terms, the Washington Post created a chart comparing Barack Obama's tax cuts to John McCain. Big difference, wouldn't you say? Some people have been joking around that Joe the Plumber should run for Congress. He appeared on Mike Huckabee's show over the weekend, and you can definitely say one thing about the guy: he knows how to communicate. And that is something that John McCain simply does not do that well ... and Obama does better than most. I think that it was Frank Luntz who said that Stevie Wonder could read a teleprompter better than John McCain. But seriously, folks ... John McCain may actually be your guy when it comes to the issues, but you would never know because he can't properly communicate them to you. Conversely, this is what makes Barack Obama so enticing. You don't know what in the hell the guy is saying, but man does it sound great! That's why a majority of Obama supporters can't name you one reason why they are supporting Barack Obama other than he is going to "change" things. So we didn't really get to this yesterday, but Joe Biden seems to be preparing his supporters for the worst. I guess he figures that if he prepares them for the worst, at least you can't say you didn't know what you were getting yourself into. Here's Joe Biden's quote, "Mark my words ... it will not be six months before the world tests Barack Obama like they did John Kennedy. The world is looking. We're about to elect a brilliant 47-year-old senator president of the United States of America. Remember I said it standing here if you don't remember anything else I said. Watch, we're gonna have an international crisis, a generated crisis, to test the mettle of this guy." Um, thank you? What he is really getting at is the international community sees Barack Obama as weak ... they want to test him because they want to know the type of America they will be dealing with for the next 4-8 years - an appeasement, cut-and-run America or a stand-up-and-fight America. Based on the history of Joe Biden and the little bit that we know of Barack Obama's foreign policy philosophy ... which America do you think they will choose?
READING ASSIGNMENTS
Whatever you do, don't pay any attention to this Wall Street Journal editorial. "The Obama plan is an incentive to hire fewer workers." We don't need any more jobs in our economy anyway. Obama is going to sock it to small businesses - but he sure is going to sound eloquent doing it. Obama as The Messiah. In San Francisco the image of Barack Obama as a Saint is starting to appear on votive candles. So the Democrats are going to hold a hearing on the failure of Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac ... but they are going to wait until after the election. I'm shocked. Barack Obama's campaign is based on "change." My question is ... change from what to what. Thomas Sowell seems to be asking the same question. I think I already know. For one ... a change from self-sufficiency to government-dependency. With the media reporting on this election as if Barack Obama has already won, could this actually affect the number of votes McCain gets in a few weeks? A second economic stimulus package is looking more like a reality with Bernanke saying he would support it. Matt Lauer on the "Today Show" had a very important question for Barack Obama: how is he going to manage such great expectations, considering people have been calling him The Chosen One or The Messiah. The Supreme Court has decided to hear a case to determine if illegal aliens using false Social Security numbers should be charged with identity theft. And why not, pray tell? Jesse Jackson tells us that The Chosen One will not make Israel the centerpiece of his Middle Eastern foreign policy, yet Jewish voters favor Barack Obama over John McCain by a 2-to-1 margin. Someone 'splain that one to me. Obama is updating Reagan's phrase, he wants to know "Are you better off than you were four weeks ago?" Rasmussen found that 45% of voters believe that ACORN is illegally registering voters. Gee, ya think? But many of those people can't decide if Barack Obama has ties to ACORN (after Obama's campaign paid ACORN $800,000 to get out the vote). The number of scientists skeptical of global warming is increasing ... could it have anything to do with the decrease in the Earth's temperature? Naw, that would be too simple. How about getting paid NOT to refer your patients the hospital ... it's happening in Great Britain and coming soon to the United States. CAIR is thrilled with Colin Powell's statements on Islamophobia in the United States. CAIR is also thrilled with the prospect of an ObamaNation. I guess we should get used to this ... angelic-like pictures of Barack Obama, courtesy of the AP. It looks like Barack Obama has voted "present" yet again ... he can't make up his mind on who he wants to win the World Series. The FCC is spending $350,000 of your tax dollars to sponsor a NASCAR team, in hopes of increasing awareness about the transition to digital TV. An 89-year-old woman could be charged with petty theft because she refuses to give back a football after some neighborhood kids launched it into her yard. If you are a foster parent in Pennsylvania, it is illegal to smoke in your house when the child is at home. Do you see eye to eye with your spouse on the presidential election? If not, maybe you can relate to this couple. McCain supporters aren't all sweetness and light. This guy REALLY doesn't like Obama. Wallet feeling a little light these days?
