| Wednesday, September 10, 2008 Not that some of you will care, but you do remember how Our Savior won his first election to the Illinois State Senate, don't you? He sent his campaign workers to the voter registrar's office and kept them there until they had managed to disqualify everyone running against him. Now the word is that Obama has sent dozens - who knows how many operatives - to Alaska to work 24/7 on digging up some dirt on Sarah Palin. Let me tell you what Obama would say if McCain sent someone to Chicago to dig up dirt on him. He would whine and cry about a "return to the old politics." Funny how that standard doesn't apply to him.
Trying to wiggle out of this one by saying that George Bush once used the same phrase. Hey, a lot of people have used the phrase. Fact is, this time it was used to refer in part to a woman who had joked that the difference between herself and a pit bull was lipstick. There was no such foundation laid for Bush's remark. Lesson: Keep Obama on the teleprompter.
In case you missed it from yesterday, here's the link to the Democrat's hypocrisy regarding secret ballots at union elections. We're going to talk about this today since we didn't get the chance yesterday.
We all know that pretty much any negative comment about Obama is going to be tagged as racist by some Obama supporter. So, here's the latest, courtesy of New York's accidental governor David Patterson. The McCain campaign is making noise about Obama's illustrious past as a "community organizer," and well they should. Much of The Messiah's work was done for a leftist, anti-capitalist group called ACORN. Now Governor Patterson is telling us that every time Sarah Palin (most attacks are now focused on Palin due to her popularity) mentions "community organizer" she is really using a code work for "black." NO .. I'm not kidding. Read the story for yourself. You have to know by now that if Obama wins this thing we're going to have four years of Obama-bots screaming "racism" every single time a white person utters a word in opposition to an Obama policy. This is going to get more than tiring, and the time to stop this is now. Barack Obama wants to make the highest income earners in this country return to the 39% tax bracket. And the reason, according to Barack Obama, is because those people "can afford that." In exchange, because he is such a nice guy, Obama says he is going to cut taxes for 95% of Americans ... an act which he declares is not class warfare.
But now we have something new in the mix. Obama has come up with a new excuse for wealth and income redistribution. He has a new excuse - reason, if you will - to implement the Marxist "from each according to their ability" doctrine. The new excuse? Neighborliness. Yes, I kid you not. This is what is fueling Barack Obama's tax plan. Neighborliness. You know ... because it would be the nice thing to do. He explains, "If I am sitting pretty, and you've got a waitress who is making minimum wage plus tips, and I can afford it and she can't -- what's the big deal for me to say, 'I'm going to pay a little bit more.' That is neighborliness." "What's the big deal?" Obama says? You're kidding me, right? The big deal that the government is using its exclusive right to use deadly force to accomplish its goals by forcing you to be neighborly at the point of a gun. If you decide that you need the money you have worked for and earned for your own family - and that you don't particularly want to give it away to someone who somehow can't earn more than the minimum wage - then the government simply sticks you up at gunpoint? If the poor, poor pathetic minimum wage waitress did this she would be arrested. No problem though. Barack Obama will just do it for her. Lord how we need this guy. Here's a little more from Obama: "What I believe is, is that there are certain things we have to do. We've got to help people who are having tough times affording college, so they can benefit like we benefited from this great country. People who are having a tough time -- they don't have health care; people who are trying to figure out how they are going to pay the bills..." Remember .. most of these people who, as Obama says, are having a "tough time," created their own tough time. "Having a tough time" is another way of saying "living with the consequences of your decisions." What would life be like in an ObamaNation? There's the government sitting there watching you - watching you work - watching you go the extra mile. The government takes note of the fact that you pursued an advanced education. Then the government observes you working 50, 60 maybe 80 hours a week trying to start a business. The government watches your income as it rises. Finally at some point the government says "Enough! You now have more than you need! There are people out there who did not pursue an education like you did. There are people out there who did not work as hard and as long as you did. There are people out there who did not make the careful choices and take the risks you did. Now you have to be a good neighbor. So we're going to take some of that money you don't need and 'spread the wealth', so to speak." Do you really want a government that can decide when you have enough .. and take the excess away? Then vote for Obama. When told that his tax plan is just a fancy way of saying "income redistribution," which is a tenant of socialism, Obama's response was, "Teddy Roosevelt supported a progressive income tax." That's it. That's his excuse. So now we have Teddy Roosevelt and neighborliness. How wonderful.
Fine, Obama, you want to back that up? Let's start with John McCain, who has a 100% approval rating on pork-barrel spending for the 2007 legislative season, according to Citizens against government waste. His lifetime score is 88%. What this basically means is that in 2007, John McCain voted with the taxpayers 100% of the time. This means that over his years in the Senate, John McCain voted with the taxpayers 88 out of every 100 votes. And when I say "with the taxpayers" I essentially mean he voted in a way that would allow taxpayers to keep their money, rather than spend it on frivolous government pork projects. Just in case you weren't aware, Mr. Obama ... you scored a 10% rating in 2007 and an 18% lifetime rating. Oh and your running mate, Joe Biden, he actually managed to score a 0% rating in 2007. These really seem like a pair of guys that are trying to create change in Washington. These really look like the people who are looking out for you, the taxpayers. But then it is John McCain and Sarah Palin who are lying. When it comes to Sarah Palin, we've been through the specifics on this Bridge to Nowhere crap. In fact, the Democrat Party in Alaska acknowledges that it was Sarah Palin who finally scrapped the bridge. That website, by the way, disappeared for a while, until pressured to re-post the page (which they did, only at a different address). But just as a little side note ... guess who DID vote for the Bridge to Nowhere. Barack Obama and Joe Biden. Why doesn't the media bring THAT to your attention. Even when given a second chance to shift the funds to Katrina relief programs, Obama and Biden still voted for the Bridge to Nowhere. While John McCain did not end up voting on the amendment, he is on record opposing the earmark. When it comes to Sarah Palin's record of reform ... let's just look at earmarks, since this is something that Palin and her Senate opponents have in common. Before Sarah Palin's time as governor, the state of Alaska used to request over 100 earmarks each year to be secured by Alaska's congressional delegation. When it came time for Sarah Palin to request her earmarks for the first time as governor ... she slashed that number by half, requesting 54 earmarks. The next year, Palin cut that number AGAIN down to just 31 earmarks. Of those 31 earmarks, 27 of these are continuous or were previously appropriated. When Palin entered the governor's office, the total amount of quests averaged $550 million a year. That number has been reduced to less than $200 million now that Palin is in office. And it would only continue to decline. One of Palin's stated goals as Governor is to ask Congress for no more than a dozen earmarks for her state. On top of all that, Palin insisted that each earmark requested by the state of Alaska demonstrate an important federal purpose and public support. Whenever possible, Palin wants to have earmarks only if they can be matched by state or local budgets. And her administration is currently re-examining previous decisions on transportation earmarks ... the Alaska Department of Transportation is conducting an audit to determine the status of every single one of its recent earmarks. Let's go ahead and take a look at Barack Obama's earmarks in the Senate. In just three years, Barack Obama has requested over 300 earmark projects totaling $740 million. For the 2008 fiscal year alone, Obama requested 112 earmarks. Sarah Palin? 31. Just a little something for you have mulling around in your brain as Obama gets all huffy about earmark spending. Sarah Palin actually cuts earmarks, Barack Obama says he supports earmark transparency and then requests almost $1 billion of your tax dollars to be spent on pork projects. Sarah Palin reduces the number of projects, reduces the costs, calls for projects that will only serve the nation as a whole, investigates previous earmark spending ... and yet she is the one "lying."
In 2007, there was a small plane crash in Sanford, Florida. The plane crashed into the home of Joe Woodard, killing his wife and son. After the crash, Woodard started rebuilding his home. He tore down the old one and starting building a new one. That was until the homeowners association came along. Woodard's HOA wants the new home torn down because they say it is breaking their rules. The home is just a few weeks from being complete, but the HOA says that is doesn't fit their standards. They wanted him to build the same exact home that he had before. The infractions sighted ... the reasons why they want this man to tear down his house and start over ... the shingles on the roof and the elevation do not match the community. Also the home extends "a few feet" longer in the back yard than the association allows. Here is one homeowner's association that needs to be put in the stockade.
And while you're remembering that every single right-of-center talk show host is a "hate monger," and that conservative talk radio is "hate radio," you might want to listen to this YouTube clip from left wing talk show host Randi Rhodes. You remember her. She's the one that urged the assassination of George Bush and called Hillary Clinton a f***ing whore. Now she is saying that John McCain was well treated in Vietnam. READING ASSIGNMENTS
Joe Biden stepped in it yesterday when he said that having Sarah Palin as the first woman VP would be a "backward step for women." For the first time in three months, John McCain generated more news coverage than Barack Obama ... although, not as much coverage as Sarah Palin. Recent fundraising efforts for the Chosen One have been classified as "extremely anemic." Obama's buddy Bill Ayers published a little cartoon the other day. I wonder if he has any pictures of himself bombing the U.S. Capitol? Obama's latest line about his opponents: "You can put lipstick on a pig. It's still a pig." It looks like John McCain also used the pig line when referring to Hillary's health care program. Here's a statistic for you ... only 29% of Barack Obama supporters believe that Supreme Court justices should make rulings based on the Constitution. Come on folks. You don't see the danger lurking here? Gotta love this ... the New York Times is firing 550 full-time union employees and replacing them with non-union contractors to distribute the Times (because it is too expensive). Barack Obama now says that he wants to double the amount of funding for charter schools. Can we really thank Joe Biden for the progress in Iraq (as he claims)? ... the answer is no. A study funded by the state of New Jersey has determined that it would lose $400 million in tourism if they build a wind farm 3 miles off the coast. A Sheriff in North Carolina is taking a beating right now regarding remarks he made about illegal immigrants in his community. You can't make this stuff up, folks: Swedish prostitutes want to pay taxes. | |||||
