| Monday, September 22, 2008 - Autumn! Why in the wide, wide world of politics aren't more people talking about the role of political correctness and community organizers and activists in this financial situation we've been experiencing? Here's a column I wrote about this last week. Folks, listen. If something seems too good to be true, it's because it is too good to be true. Neal Boortz with a full head of hair? Come on! I mean, could you imagine what this would do for my ratings?? (Both the hair and Biden.) But seriously, Barack Obama can't admit that he made a mistake about anything. Remember? This is the man who NEVER has any doubts about himself. Why would the guy suddenly cave on the biggest decision he has made as a candidate? While it would be painted as Biden's decision, or Biden's health, Biden being replaced would show a huge sign of weakness for the Obama campaign. And that's not something they are willing to let happen. Not to mention the fact that Barack Obama doesn't want four (or eight) years of Hillary lurking over his shoulder. Who would? Not even Bubba!
A sign hanging in a small store in Groveland, California:
Is there a greater sign of abject stupidity than a pregnant woman smoking a cigarette? Well .. maybe an Obama sign in your yard.
Well this one is a no-brainer to figure out. If there is a troop drawdown on President Bush's watch, then the Democrats (therefore Barack Obama) wouldn't get "credit." They wouldn't look like the "heroes." Just like Democrats would rather see energy legislation passed with a Democrat in the White House. It's pure political pandering - with a difference. This pandering could have cost American lives.
... because he comes up with brilliant lines like this "paying taxes is patriotic" horsesqueeze. Here is the quote, "We want to take money and put it back in the pocket of middle-class people." Those earning more than $250,000 a year will 'pay more. ... It's time to be patriotic, Kate. Time to jump in. Time to be part of the deal. Time to help get America out of the rut. And the way to do that is -- they're still going to pay less taxes than they did under Reagan.'" So now, the evil rich are unpatriotic if they do not agree to live their lives by the socialist tenants of Barack Obama and Joe Biden. This is classic wealth envy. This Obama-Biden campaign really knows how to get you going ... not only are the rich evil because they have more money than you, but they are unpatriotic because they don't want to give any of that money (back?) to you! Even though they earned it, and the poor didn't, the poor, poor pitiful poor deserve that money because that is the American way! Since when? Since when did America embrace the idea that wealth redistribution will make our country a better place, that capitalism is evil, and that government is what makes us great? This is the America we are becoming. And what's this "giving BACK" nonsense?
But the latest is an AP-Yahoo News poll. The Associated Press declares, based on this poll, that "deep-seated racial misgivings could cost Barack Obama the White House if the election is close." So if Obama loses, it is because he's black. That's the current line in Europe also. The poll found that one-third of white Democrats harbor negative views toward blacks ... many believe they are "lazy" or "violent," and responsible for their own troubles. About two and a half percent of voters who may not vote for Obama because of his race could be a large enough percentage to make the difference in this election. According to the survey conducted by Stanford University, more than one third of all white Democrats and independents agreed with at least one negative adjective about blacks. They are also significantly less likely to vote for Obama than those who don't have such views. Here's a prime example of what I mean. One of Time's blogs is complaining that one of John McCain's latest ads play the race card because it shows "sinister images of two black men, followed by one of a vulnerable-looking elderly white woman." Give me a break. Barack Obama did get one thing right last week. He said that "we have not managed our federal budget with any kind of discipline." No kidding. So keeping this criticism in mind, Obama wants to spend $50 billion on a United Nations anti-poverty program that will most assuredly drive up American debt. That's every year, folks. Not just one time. And that figure would grow as our economy grows. The UN's Millennium Development Goal wants to cut poverty in half by 2015 by redistributing wealth from countries like the United States and giving it to those "less fortunate." Obama is the sponsor for the Global Poverty Act, which would require the president to commit to this Millennium Development Goal to cut poverty in half by 2015. Meanwhile, critics say that it will end up costing the taxpayers $845 billion. That's a lot of money for a man who is concerned about an undisciplined federal budget. Now, keeping all of this in mind ... just take a look at this article about the UN's anti-poverty agency -- the one that Obama wants to give your money to -- and tell me if you think this is an agency worth supporting with your tax dollars. Treasury Secretary Henry Paulson says that foreign banks can also qualify for the Treasury Department's mortgage bailout. Hell, let's just bail everyone out. The terrorist attack at a Marriott Hotel in Pakistan over the weekend killed over 50 people. Investor's Business Daily wants to know if the Democrats will ever recover from Barack Obama. Here's the latest from George Will on government bailouts. Did Charlie Rangel really mean to call Governor Sarah Palin "disabled"? Of course he did ... just like he meant to keep those four rent-controlled apartments he has in Manhattan. Sarah Palin gets disinvited from an anti-Iran rally because Democrats protested her presence as "political." Oh and who happened to out of the rally when Palin was invited? Hillary Clinton. Iran's Ahmadinejad has offered to debate both US presidential candidates after Obama's comment that he would meet with leaders of Iran and Syria if elected. Here's a statistic for you ... 73% of Obama supporters say the economy is in a recession or depression, compared to 45% of McCain supporters. Officially ... the economy is NOT in a recession. And always remember that over 80% of Obama-bots believe that the Supreme Court should not base its rulings on our Constitution. What's going on with energy in the Congress? The Gang of 20 have decided not to introduce their compromise energy bill this week. A liberal magazine concedes that Obama's plan to link John McCain to George W. Bush isn't working. Nice try, Obama. Joe Biden's latest line from the campaign trail ... "I guarantee you, Barack Obama ain't taking my shotguns. So don't buy that malarkey ... They're going to start peddling that to you." Shotguns .. yeah. That's what it is all about. We all carry shotguns for protection. Charles Krauthammer has some insight into Bush becoming a wartime president and how history will judge him. Nancy Pelosi and Harry Reid have totally blown it ... just like the Republicans did years ago. When rumors began to spread that Nashville, TN was going to run out of gas ... people panicked ... you know the rest of the story. And now the latest, breaking news from the campaign trail ... McCain Has 13 Cars, Obama 1. I, by the way, have 6. Ever heard of the Texas Open Beaches Act? Following Hurricane Ike, a lot of Texans are about to become very familiar with the law. Government outrage: A government school administrator made a student remove his t-shirt with an American flag on it because it "violated a clause of the school dress code that does not allow 'shirts/blouses that promote specific races, cultures, or ethnicities.'" Firefighters in Washington DC have their boxers in a bunch because they have been told they are not allowed to have beards for safety reasons. A lawsuit has been filed on grounds of religious freedom. And now something for you aviation lovers ... an 80-year-old man in Michigan has built an Italian World War I fighter plane. | ||||
