Remember the hard time the political class gave the automaker honchos when they flew to hearings in Washington on private jets? Yeah. How DARE these calloused and greedy executives fly on private jets while people are losing their homes to foreclosure.
Let's look at another CEO. This one would Barack Obama. He's heading to Europe on Tuesday for the G20 summit. He is taking with him no less than 500 staff members on at least three government aircraft - Air Force One included. There will be several decoy helicopters flown over on Air Force C5s, and one other Air Force transport to carry his limo and the war wagon.
This doesn't include the advanced security teams that have already flown to Europe on private jets.
All well and good ... except for the staff of 500 possibly ... but in light of this and the cost to the American taxpayers, maybe it is time to lighten up on corporate CEOs. These private sector leaders are afraid to schedule a conference for their sales staffs for fear that it might anger the Obama administration and nasty words would fly. Obama has almost single-handedly wrecked the economy of Las Vegas. London, however, will be doing just fine this week.
