Barack Obama's approval ratings have been dropping, big time. Overall, Obama's ratings are down below 50%, according to Gallup polls. But there are still a few segments of society that are holding on to hope.
The young. Obama's approval rating is below 50% for every age group except Americans between the ages of 18 and 29. Ironically, this is the age group that will be paying for the current spending spree in Washington. Well, you know, I guess you have to, like, recognize, you know, that these, like, young people have other, like, things to worry about. They've, like, been out from under their, you know, mom's apron for, like, four or five years ... if that. It's not like, you know, they spend a lot of, like, time reading editorial pages or, you know, news magazines. Know what I'm sayin'?
Then there's Blacks and Hispanics. Obama's approval among whites has fallen below 40% while support from blacks is currently at 91%. Well, what the hell? He looks like them ... so he must be good! Besides - and I want you to have a little empathy here - try to imagine the letdown that comes with finally recognizing that this man you so idolized; this black man who became President of the United States, is completely incompetent and in no way qualified or prepared for the responsibilities of his office? Are you going to tell a pollster that he has been a huge disappointment to you? Hardly! Sure you're going to support him. You're hoping he can do something grand or courageous that will convince the country - and you by the way - that he isn't the disaster you suspect he has become.
Then there's Hispanics with support hovering around 70%. Let Obama say that he is firmly opposed to any amnesty or program that would allow illegal aliens to remain here on a fast track to citizenship ... and see how fast this support goes adios.
The poor. Obama's approval rating is below 50% for every income group except those making less than $2,000 a month. They're still waiting for Obama to fill their automobile gas tanks and pay their rent.
The non-church goers. Obama's approval ratings are below 50% for every one that goes to church, however he is at 55% for those who seldom or never go to church. Well ... actually these people DO go to church. They attend the church of government, and Obama is their God.
... and speaking of God:
