So the VAT is under consideration. But guess what else is up for grabs to tackle the national debt?
ObamaCare.
The commission's co-chairs, Democrat Erskine Bowles and Republican Alan Simpson said that ObamaCare is not a sacred cow and must be scrutinized for future cost savings.
Remember how Democrats said that they voted for this healthcare bill because they wanted to vote for the biggest deficit reduction in history? Well according to Erskine Bowles, the supposed cost-cutting measures in ObamaCare were "insufficient" to deal with our debt crisis. Needless to say, putting ObamaCare on the potential chopping block has caused some serious tension among the panel. And I want you to think this thing through just a bit more. If the panel starts to recommend monkeying around with ObamaCare where will that go? You know, don't you. Cuts in services. And cuts in services mean?????? Rationing. Just hang in there folks, you'll see.
