FANNING THE FLAMES

By Neal Boortz

This story about the mosque at Ground Zero isn't going away anytime soon .. much to the dismay of Barack Obama and the Democrats. Every day that we talk about the Ground Zero mosque is a day that Democrats don't get to tell you how the Republicans are going to take away your Social Security. There's the added difficulty that the Mosque controversy can't be blamed on George Bush ... though I'm sure Obama's folks are looking for a story line that might make that fit. In the meantime stories like this will continue to keep the mosque front of mind.

The Imam spearheading this Victory Mosque at Ground Zero is Imam Faisal (Fuzzy) Abdul Rauf. It turns out that Rauf's wife, Daisy Khan - quite a piece of work in her own right -- is also involved in the project. Over the weekend, Daisy Khan decided to comment on the puddin' storm surrounding her mosque. She describes protests against the building of the mosque as follows: "It's beyond Islamophobia. It's hate of Muslims."

A burka here would be an improvement ... one with a gag. Daisy Kahn knows - her husband the Imam knows - and much of the Muslim world knows that the very purpose of building this Mosque as close to the site of the collapsed World Trade Towers is to give the Muslim world a monument to what they perceive as a major victory over the hated United States on 9/11. Daisy is pulling a page from American leftist politicians here. When your ideas are challenged and you really can't mount a logical or rational defense, start yelling "hate." So tiring.

Then we have Imam Fuzzy. Faisal Abdul Rauf is back in the news again .. and not in a good way. This time it's not a recent comment --- it's something he said at a lecture in 2005. Jason Mattera - (the author of Obama Zombies) - did some research and discovered this quote from Fuzzy; a remark made during a lecture sponsored by the University of South Australia: "We tend to forget, in the West, that the United States has more Muslim blood on its hands than al-Qaeda has on its hands of innocent non Muslims." Couple this comment with the fact that Rauf says that US policies were "an accessory to the crime" in regards to 9/11 .. and we are starting to get a pretty clear picture of where these mosque builders are coming from.

Now ... let's talk about that "more Muslim blood on its hands" remark. The loving Imam was referring to the oft-quoted figure that American sanctions against Iraq cost a half-million children to die. That figure came from UN sources ... so right away you know they're suspect. Here are some information you may find helpful:

For many years during the sanctions the U.S. offered Hussein the "Oil-for-Food" program to alleviate hunger. Hussein refused to accept the aid for years. When Hussein finally did accept the Oil-for-Food program it was administered by the U.N. in the Northern portion of Iraq. Throughout the rest of Iraq Hussein was running the show --- and getting rich. In the North the child mortality rates fell to below pre-sanction levels. In the areas where Saddam Hussein was running the show the child mortality rates doubled.

So ... so much for the Imam's remarks about the blood of Muslim children on America's hands.

Imam Faisal Abdul Rauf is NOT a friend of this country. Yes --- he has the right to build the Mosque where he wishes. Americans just need to know the true reason for this Mosque on this site .. and how Fuzzy truly feels about this country.
