NOW THIS IS A GREAT FRIDAY!

By Neal Boortz

So today is my last day on the air for the year --- unless, of course, all hell breaks loose somewhere. I'll be close and ready to flip the mic switch if the mood strikes. I'm sure I'll feel the need to make a posting now and again to Nealz Nuze between now and January 3rd, so keep checking back. As I said ... we may have a few little goodies here and there to keep you entertained, but at this point it looks like Congress is nowhere finished with its lame duck session. I'm leaving it up to you. Don't let these people get away with highway robbery, while we are distracted on the sidelines celebrating with our families.

Where do we stand as of today? Well there was some procedural complications in the House yesterday. Jamie Dupree worked into the wee wee hours of the morning keeping us up to speed. In the end the bill extending the current tax rates and cutting two percentage points off the Social Security tax by two percent for one year was passed.

Now as if stopping the Democrats from raising taxes wasn't enough ... the Omnibus bill went Tango Uniform as well. Senate Minority leader Phineas T. Bluster (known to some as Mitch McConnell) substituted a one-page resolution which extends government spending at the current levels until a new budget can be given proper consideration. This most assuredly was bad news for the Polynesian Voyaging Society and the makers of the "alternate" jet engine for the joint strike fighter, but it was good news for the taxpayers.

Harry Reid, the ever-dynamic Senate Majority Leader had to get the spotlight back for a few moments ... so he placed himself in front of the TV cameras to address these earmarks, saying that it is our Constitutional duty to pass earmarks. Well, now we know that Harry Reid doesn't know squat about our Constitution. The Democrats are only concerned about the Constitution when it is politically convenient to them. I'm so sick of this.
