Obama wants it. Obama also wants to weaken America. So Obama will probably get his START Treaty with Russia ... with the help of quite a few Republican Senators. Senate approval is expected this morning.
This treaty states that the United States is not allowed to improve or upgrade its defenses against ballistic missile attacks. Right now Iran and Venezuela are making plans for missile bases in Venezuela. If we determine that there is a threat of missile attacks from South America we are not permitted under the START Treaty to upgrade our defenses to meet that threat.
