Yesterday Belinda, Cristina and The Talkmaster ventured to New York City for the day ... Since AirTran makes the trip so easy. Cristina is an NYU graduate, so she knew the magic spots around Christmas. We hit the Christmas Market at Union Square then lunch at Mario Batali's Otto. Then wandered uptown to stop by Hammacher Schlemmer on 57th and Lex. That was sad. This store is certainly not what it used to be. Doesn't even look like it will be open in a year. Then a stop at Central Park (where Belinda insisted on one of those carriage rides). We wandered around The Plaza Hotel looking for Eloise, then headed to Bergdorf Goodman. The shopping there is amazing, as long as you don't want to buy anything. Small candles the size of a coffee cup for $70. Belinda found a Christmas card for $34.00. Those items still sit exactly where we found them. The store, though, is amazing. With those kind of prices it really needs to be at Central Park South and Park Avenue. Then we headed to Rockefeller Plaza and back to the nation's worst airport, LaGuardia, for the return flight. If there is hell on earth it is Concourse B at LaGuardia.
