Do you remember way back to the holidays when the Democrats insisted on staying in Washington until Christmas Eve just to vote on healthcare reform? Do you remember how Barack Obama pinned the nation's economic turnaround on the success of healthcare reform?

Well that tune has changed. Drastically. Wanting to wait until Scott Brown is sworn into office, Obama has warned the Democrats from not trying to "jam" through a healthcare bill. In fact, Harry Reid says that there is no firm commitment for Democrats to rush the healthcare bill through Congress this year. This year? Harry Reid says, "First of all, we're not going to rush into anything." Where was that patience when the Democrats were passing bills and holding closed-door meetings to try and ram the bill through? Where was that patience when the White House couldn't guarantee that we would have 72 hours to see the bill before it was signed?

Seems as though the Democrats are going to ride this one out ... wait until the firestorm dies down and then proceed with caution. It's up to the Republicans to keep the firestorm from dying out.
