NOW THAT YOU'VE READ THE COLUMN ... LET'S TALK:

By Neal Boortz

So ... there you have it. The Democrats seem to think that their way to the governor's office is to pander to the teacher's unions. Make sure you promise the teachers more and more money, and make sure you don't put them into a position where they might actually have to compete for their jobs. These teachers will prattle on for hours telling you how dedicated they are to their students. Oh ... I'm sure some of them are, but for the most part that dedication takes a back seat to their dedication to job security. If the students truly did come first with these "professionals" they would be eager to enter a competitive arena where the children - and the money - go where the parents chose instead of where the politicians dictate.

It's beyond disgraceful the way Roy Barnes and the rest of the Democrat candidates demonstrate their willingness to abandon Georgia's children to these teacher's unions. Being elected is more important to them than the education of your children. BUT --- they will get away with it because parents are running around with those idiotic "honor student" bumper stickers on their cars. The average parent of a government school pupil hasn't spent a cumulative 45 seconds studying the subject of school choice. They just automatically accept the concept of total and complete government control over the education of their children. After all ... it's so much easier that way.

Shameful.
