NOW IT'S SHARED RESPONSIBILITY

By Neal Boortz

Today PrezBo is hosting a bipartisan summit at the White House.  Even though Republican leaders called for the meeting, Obama has dictated the topics for discussion: the new START treaty and the expiring Bush tax cuts.  PrezBo says that this meeting "will mark a first step towards a new and productive working relationship, because we now have a shared responsibility to deliver for the American people on the issues that define not only these times, but our future."

Don't ya just love that phrase, "shared responsibility"?  Isn't it nice that Barack Obama has decided that he now wants to share .. only after he was FORCED to by the midterm elections.  There was another one of these meetings back in 2008.  At that meeting Obama wasn't talking about "shared responsibility." In 2008 when a Republican Senator sought a dialogue with Obama on the issue of taxes, Obama simply said "I won."  (If it wasn't for the respect I have for the office of the presidency, I might suggest that the man holding the office at that particular time was an arrogant bastard.)

Well ... we've gone from "I won" to "I got my tail kicked."  Now Obama wants to talk.  Now he wants to pull out a new canvas and start painting a picture of bipartisanship.  Yeah .. I'm buying that.  Just give me one instance or prior example as to why I should believe Obama and his talk of bipartisanship.  Take a look at how he handled healthcare.  He conducted that "bipartisan" healthcare summit, but then when it came down to it .. the Republicans were blocked from voting on every single one of their ideas.

Obama knows he needs the moocher class for a second term.  Any pretense at bipartisanship will be tempered by the realization that in 2012 Obama is going to have to look at the moochers and tell them what a wonderful job he has done seizing wealth and sending it their way.  Simply put ... you can't be a serious advocate for putting American on a path to fiscal sanity while working on a goal of "spreading the wealth around."

Now, about this federal worker pay freeze ... does this mean that Obama is serious about our deficit?  Hardly.  By 2020, the freeze will have lowered the deficit by just 0.3%.  Is it a start?  I guess.  Does that make Obama serious?  No way.  But the real test will be in Congress, which still has to approve the freeze.  You can guarantee that there is one group out there currently spitting nails and calling their Senators, reminding them of how they put them in office: the unions.  They will fight this freeze tooth and nail.  The postal worker's union is already screaming bloody murder.  More to come.
