PrezBo has been making the rounds this week, making speeches and appearing at "backyard" meetings. But notice how dichotomous these events have become. On the one hand you have Obama making a speech to college students at a Wisconsin campaign rally. The ObamaZombies noted that an event like this made it feel as though the old Obama - the one from the campaign trail - was back! His message to these young folks: "Change is going to come." Because apparently the change that they believed in hasn't come yet. But you know what? These young voters will believe him. In fact, they are only one of two voting groups in America that still support Obama. (The other being minorities, which is a whole other issue.) So we've got these young kids, who haven't worked a day in their lives, piled into an auditorium, cheering for Obama and drooling over the promise of "coming change." For most of these kids, their biggest concern is what they are going to wear to the next Fraternity party. They are not concerned about taxes, they are not concerned about healthcare, they are not concerned about the runaway levels of federal spending that will one day put their grandchildren at an incredible disadvantage ... so they show up to an Obama rally and cheer on the president because it is the cool thing to do. The biggest leveraging point that Obama has on these young people is that the Republicans are going take away their change! What they don't know is that Obama himself is poised to take away a lot more than that.
Then PrezBo headed to Iowa where he took questions at a "backyard meeting." The tone was markedly different. He heard a small businessman's fears that Obama's tax plans could "strangle" job creation. He heard from a mom whose son graduated from college and can't find a job. These people aren't at a pep rally on a college campus, joined by their Marxist professors .. these are the producers who keep this country moving forward. These also happen to be the people who Obama wants to punish in order to pay for student loans for those college students and to allow them to stay on their parents health insurance until they are 26 years old.
What I would want to hear is for Obama to stand up and explain why he can justify raising taxes while spending you tax dollars like this ......
