Last week a Republican Congressman by the name of Tom Reed (of New York) introduced a resolution to put a clock in the House chamber that would measure the U.S. debt. He says that he wants to do this as a “visual gesture” to remind his colleagues of the need to reduce spending.

Whatdya think? Should we get serious about our spending problems and avoid these types of gimmicks .. or is it a good idea for Congress to always see how much their actions are costing the taxpayers?
