Personal responsibility isn’t easy. That’s why when offered another choice, more and more Americans will take the lazy road .. the moocher road .. and our government is completely complicit. In fact, it enables these people’s actions as moochers. You will get more of the behavior that you reward, therefore we continue to grow the moocher class while our productive class continues to shrink.

So your “well duh” moment of the day is the latest polling showing that Americans would rather we solve our deficit problems by taxing the evil, filthy, disgusting rich than by fixing our entitlement programs. Voters by a margin of 2-to-1 support raising taxes on incomes above $250,000, with 64% in favor and 33% opposed. Voters oppose cuts to Medicare and Medicare by 80% compared to just 18% of voters who support cuts for these entitlement programs. That’s democracy at work for you … ask people – 98% of whom make less than $250K a year – if they think that taxes should be raised on people making over $250K a year and you will get numbers like this. Frankly, I’m surprised that one-third of the voters actually said no! That gives me some hope, but not much.

How about we change the polling question a bit? Let’s ask these people this question:

The owner of the business you work for reports all of his business income on his personal income tax return. His business is earning over $250,000 a year. He is thinking about taking some of that money and using it to expand his business and to give you a raise, but he’s waiting to see if Obama is going to increase his taxes. Knowing this, would you support a tax increase for the owner of the business you work for?

Yeah .. give that a try and see what your numbers are. Trouble is, government-educated Americans simply do not understand that the people Obama is targeting in his class warfare election rhetoric are the very people America depends on for most existing and almost all new jobs. There’s a reason, my friends, why these things aren’t taught in government schools.
