Wow! Here’s an incredible statement. See if you can guess the relative age of the person who made this utterance:
“As human beings we are really not responsible for our own acts, and so we need government to control those who don’t care about others.”
Amazing .. and as you probably guess, that quote came from a government-educated ObamaZombie college student; straight out of the age group that has all the answers for all the questions. That comment comes from a sophomore student at Valencia College. An economics professor by the name of Jack Chambliss starts off his class each semester by making students write an essay about the American Dream. As part of the assignment students have to address the following question: What do you want the federal government to do to help you achieve that dream?
The results may, sadly, not be all that surprising.
About 10% of students said that they wanted the federal government to leave them alone and not tax them too much. These must be the minority of students who went to private schools or were home schooled. The vast majority, 80%, of the students said that the federal government should provide them with some form of free college tuition, free healthcare, a job, money for a house, money for retirement or money to spend. How did they plan to acquire that money? Easy – tax the rich.
When asked why he thinks he got these types of answers from his students, Professor Chambliss offered a few reasons. The first being … government schools (though he doesn’t call them government schools, he calls them public schools). He explains how most students in his class have never been taught the basics of property rights, John Locke or Adam Smith. You ask them of these people or these principles and they look at you with a brook trout expression.
Another reason Professor Chambliss sites is our food stamp president, Barack Obama. He says that Obama appealed to the younger generation by saying that somehow people who are wealthy are a problem for us. Rather than aspiring to earn wealth yourself, you aspire to be a Democrat voter so you can legally plunder the pockets of the people who are wealthy.
God help us.
