The latest column from the incomparable Thomas Sowell: Gingrich's Past vs. Four More Years of Obama.

Victor Davis Hanson says that the myth of Barack Obama is giving way to reality … “In short, the myth of Obama’s brilliance was based on his teleprompted eloquence, the sort of fable that says we should listen to a clueless Sean Penn or Matt Damon on politics because they can sometimes act well.”

Should we be preparing ourselves for a surprise winner in Iowa?

Our corrupt Attorney General Eric Holder says that … wait for it … racism is responsible for the criticism of Fast and Furious.  One Congressman says that recent use of racial politics to attack his critics appears to be something Barack Obama “orchestrated.”  Florida Rep. Allen West says that “they want to make white individuals afraid of continuing to put the pressure on Eric Holder because they don’t want to be seen as racist.”

Now if you critique the rising number of food stamp users, or call Barack Obama a food stamp president, that’s raaaaaacist.

Despite what they may claim, liberals love the 1%.

In time for the election next year, Barack Obama is trying to woe the ladies.

This sounds about right: US Capitol Christmas Tree Honors Obama, Not Jesus Or Christmas.  Christmas is competition to those who worship government.

Two congressmen (one Democrat, one Republican) are trying to overturn a rule that forbids the use of “Merry Christmas” and “Happy Hanukkah” in taxpayer-funded congressional correspondence.

The war on Christmas continues … A forty-year tradition in Massachusetts was almost broken after the school superintendant told firefighters they would not be allowed to dress as Santa and deliver coloring books to children.

Unfortunately for Obama, fewer people now seeing big business as the "biggest threat" to the country in the future and more seeing big government as the "biggest threat."

It starts … The EPA wants to change how it analyzes problems and makes decisions, which would vastly expand its power to regulate businesses, communities and ecosystems in the name of UN’s plan for “sustainable development.”

The overzealous local government of the day award goes to Queens, New York.

Caution!  Barney Frank revealed …
