Do unions have influence over presidents ... particularly Democrat presidents ... like the incredible Barack Obama? You betcha. Remember that just last week, AFL-CIO union boss Richard Trumka declared that he speaks to someone in the Obama White House every day. And he brags about visiting the White House two, three times every week. Early on in Obama's presidency, White House logs revealed that the most frequent visitor to the White House was none other than Andy Stern, president of the Service Employees International Union (SEIU). The fact is that these unions got these Democrats elected, and they keep them in power, and you can bet that these unions aren't going to let them forget it. That's called influence, and it would seem that the unions are carrying plenty in Washington; perhaps even enough to call some of the more errant shots we've seen from the White House. But to point out this fact is ... wait for it ... racist! That, according to MSNBC's Lawrence O'Donnell. Here's a transcript of a recent interview of his:
The Republican party is saying that the president of the United States has bosses, that the union bosses this president around, the unions boss him around. Does that sound to you like they are consciously or subconsciously deliver the racist message that of course, of course a black man can't be the real boss.
Give me a big league break here, you idiot. (But then again, he is on MSNBC). Now we have the ObamaMedia trying to play the race card! They are trying to paint the GOP opposition to these unions as having an underlying racial connotation. Well, I guess it's been a while since the Left got to use the race card. It was only a matter of time before it came out again. But this use was particularly pathetic. Do you see why the claim of 'racism' has lost all meaning in this country?
