House Republicans voted yesterday to block NPR from receiving any federal tax dollars. The measure passed the House 228 to 192, with 7 Republicans breaking ranks and voting against the bill. But the Democrats didn't let the issue go down without a hysterical fight. Yes, I mean hysterical.
First we have Rep. Anthony Weiner. Take a look at his sarcastic speech he gave on the House floor. Some say that Alan Grayson has definitely found his replacement.
Then we had Dem Rep. Jim McGovern who is upset that we are targeting NPR but not FoxNews, which he describes as "wildly biased." McGovern wanted an amendment that would prohibit taxpayer dollars from being used for advertising on FoxNews.
